Did Messi announced this? Because I don't think that a player like Messi will be too old at the age of 38 for the next World Cup. It's to be expected that Ronaldo will retire before the next World Cup but, I'm not so sure about Messi.

Some news sites claimed he has:

Lionel Messi says 2022 World Cup will be his last
"There's some anxiety and nerves at the same time. It is the last one," he told Star Plus.

Argentines are getting crazy to see Messi win this world cup:

Argentines forsake buying homes to see Messi play in World Cup

We'll have to see what happens, but it looks like yes, it is the last one for Messi.

World famous 2 stars Leon Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo will play last in Qatar 2022. The World Cup in Qatar is going to be the last major tournament in the country's jersey for both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, one of the best footballers in the world. Because Messi is 34 and Ronaldo is 37. And so it is impossible for them to play in another World Cup.
Lionel Messi
Country: Argentina
World Cup debut: 2006
Age: 34
Position: Forward

cristiano ronaldo
Country: Portugal
World Cup debut: 2006
Age: 37
Position: Forward
More precisely, Messi is 35 years old. for Messi I think it's just a possibility. but considering now he is actually 35 years old. then the possibility indeed the world cup now is the last for him. as well as Cristiano Ronaldo I think it will be the last world cup for him.
actually there are several other star players who are also expected in this world cup is the last world cup for them. like Thiago Silva (Brazil) who is now 37 years old. next there is Luka Modric (Croatia) who is also 37 years old. Karim Benzema is also likely to play in the world cup for the last time. because his age in december now is 35 years.

Senegal does have many good players like Sadio Mané, Bamba Dieng, Ismaïla Sarr will make the Netherlands have to fight hard against Senegal, but in the history of these two countries have never met before at international level, but in my opinion, the Netherlands will win this match, because the Netherlands also have very good players like Memphis Depay, Luuk de Jong, Steven Bergwijn and others. So for that, let's see together who will dominate the field and win this match.

Players like Memphis Depay are among the best in the world right now. But recent performances from the Dutch team has been disappointing for their fans. Their performance was OK in the UEFA Nations League A, but before that they were having a tough time in the World Cup qualifiers. In the end they managed to edge out Turkey by 2 points in the end. During the very first match, Turkey managed to defeat them by a margin of 2-4. Anyway, during the last couple of months, their performance seems to have improved.

Senegal vs. Netherlands on November 21 is catching my attention because they actually play well and because they are the best representation for Africa during this World Cup, I have faith in them to win. Everyone is anxious to know who the winner of the fifa World Cup will be after so many disqualifications and with group A opening the floor and the games starting on November 20th, which is on Sunday. Till then let’s see the out come of the matches when it starts.
Well, this is a match that is quite worth the wait. We know Senegal is one of the best clubs to represent Africa now especially they are currently AFCON champions which of course is something bigger than expectations. On the other hand the Netherlands is also currently in a good trend, the current players apart from young players they are also quite qualified and of course they are now back into one of the seeds. But in this case I will probably be on the Dutch side because from the qualifications they are very good.

@Rockbell Senegal has a good chance to win this game, because their player’s showed that they have a strong mentality when it comes to big matches hence an upset is on the menu against Netherlands. Furthermore De Jong, Memphis have barely played this season, hence they’ll most likely be on the bench and even if they start I don’t expect them to have an impact because they’ll be rusty due to their lack of game time.

I am just curious about the pool, why are only 5 clubs in Europe (Italy, Portugal, Germany, Spain, and England) will play in the final? is impossible for a club from South America to make all finals? Maybe that looks impossible when we calculate the power from each country like Brazil, Argentine, Uruguay, or Mexico which is not convincing to maybe for the next round semifinal of final, but sometimes the country which doesn't count will make the surprise at the end of the match.
Looks like Op only wants to take into account the big teams that have won the world cup and include Portugal because of Ronaldo's factor, should include 2 countries from America Brazil and Argentina they have a chance for that, not even France in the poll is in the list of countries that have a chance for the champion is actually above the countries in the poll.

And we should also remember that UEFA teams have historically performed poorly when the tournament was held outside the European continent.
Agree that the team from America, namely Brazil, has a better record when events are held outside Europe and America and even won once in Europe while European teams have never won in America, but don't forget Spain who won in South Africa in 2010, where only Uruguay entered the semifinals but lost to the Netherlands

To be honest, I would like to see how the Netherlands will play against Senegal.

I want to see how far they go, they come with players who don't really have a lot of star names. however, based on the results of statistical records owned by the Netherlands. this match should be theirs, but that doesn't mean Senegal is an easy opponent to beat. after all, they have the names of quite well-known players who have played in various european league competitions, besides Sadio Mane who became the icon of their squad.

however, in terms of probability, the Netherlands is more favored in this match even though Senegal is the best representative of the Arfika nation. it seems, this match will feature a fierce game from these two competing teams. not the right time if I have to predict now, I have to see first the starting line-up of these two teams later.

just counting the days this world cup show will be held.

As you can see, there's a lot of attackers, I'm pretty confident Brazil will finally play at the best level as everyone expects, not focused on defense, but with strong attack.

I think I'm more confident now to bet on Brazil
When it comes to betting then I also have the same thoughts as you. I also prefer to bet on Brazil. but I have a different choice when it comes to which team I support. because I come from Asia. so of course I support teams from Asian countries. such as Japan and South Korea. but even though I support Japan and Korea but I can't bet on them. because the most realistic country to place a bet right now is Brazil.

A lot of users have already pointed out this. Just ignore the polls, as all of us know that the finals in all probability will be played between Brazil and Argentina. None of the European teams are in good form at this point, although Spain seems to be marginally better when compared to others such as Germany, England, France, Belgium and Netherlands. And we should also remember that UEFA teams have historically performed poorly when the tournament was held outside the European continent.
The world cup is one crucial and unpredictable competition that cup winner can't just be predicted based on bias or what the eyes are just seeing. The intriguing divergence that comes with it's result to that of our expectations is always unimaginable. History can relate.

Speaking of Brazil, what really buttressed the Brazilian coach decision of excluding firmino in his 26 man squad whereas Gabriel martinelli is statistically no where reach firmino but yet is filled in the squad.
Like how??

The opening of Group A began with a match between the hosts Qatar vs Ecuador, indeed if you look at the performances of the four teams in Group A, Senegal and the Netherlands have a great chance of securing a ticket to advance to the round of 16, because their struggle to reach the Qatar world cup is very interesting because they succeeded. beat Egypt, while the Netherlands in my personal opinion their performance is very promising because they have many star players who compete in Europe's top leagues, but we must not underestimate the hosts, even though the hosts do not have many stars who play in the Europa League, but they still have some great players who can make them compete to qualify for the last 16, Qatar are also playing at home which for sure they are more confident than other teams.

Senegal is a good team. They have a few star players such as Sadio Mané, Ismaïla Sarr, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Kalidou Koulibaly. And they are in top form, as seen from the CAF qualifiers. On the other hand, Netherlands are not in great form recently. They have suffered a few upset defeats. And during the 2022–23 UEFA Nations League A, they struggled against team such as Wales (although managing to tip their group). But is this enough for Senegal to pull off an upset? Netherlands are one of the favorites to win the world cup.

Qatar World Cup 2022

Premier league matches ends today and all the players will go to their various countries and Nations for the preparation of the world cup. The world cup will last for only 4 weeks and Qatar who is the host of the cup is fully prepared for the opening match with Ecuador. The total number of teams to play the match is 32. And also the total number of stadiums to play the world cup are 7. While the host is ready for the cup. The fans are also ready for the world cup. Now going to Qatar to Watch the matches fans are not allowed to go there with their own drinks (alcohol) and also accommodation might be an another issue in the host country because Qatar is a small country but the government is trying his own best to make sure that they accommodate 1.5 million people.

s/www.espn.com/soccer/fifa-world-cup/story/4750906/qatars-world-cup-preparations-are-the-2022-hosts-ready-for-this-winter%3fplatform=amp] Welcome to Qatar
Qatar have made every arrangements in a much organised way. Qatar have understood the global need of the people and have made big changes. When it comes to accomodation it have already made more vacant space to accommodate through purpose built house, tents, Airbnb accomodation, and anyone can avail accommodation based on their financial ability. Even few cruise ships were involved in providing accomodation for the visitors.
Speaking about alcohol , it's not illegal at all ... qatar has changed rather to stick to their old traditional rule to make alcohol illegal , it is now fine , but being drunk in public that is something illegal there ... now england fans well known love to get drunk in public should be aware about this.

Workd cup this year edition will never be the same.
As Qatar has spent a lot of money in this World Cup, according to their country's tradition, they have set some rules that must be followed. On the Palestinian issue, they put a condition that if any citizen of Israel wants to buy a ticket, he must buy a ticket as a Palestinian. And another rule they have issued is that consumption of alcohol in the field is strictly prohibited during the game. They also completely banned homosexuality in their country around this World Cup.  This Middle Eastern country has issued many more rules around this World Cup.
They have less strict though rather than ever , it was completely banned but now it's allowed with terms and so on as you said above , yet people around europe complaining as it's not meet their expectation , their habits must respect qatar habits and then we might just fine running the world cup.

Drunk and get lost in after match like world cup is inevitable , we will see how the authority act to it later.

I was going to comment on the official lineup that was defined for the Brazilian team, but you were faster than me @rdluffy lol

@Daniel91, when you and I were talking about some possible players that will not go to the Cup, the official list just came out.
And it's true, Lucas Paqueta and Richarlison will defend Brazil in this World Cup.
I just don't know if they will be 100% recovered from the injuries they sustained.
