What madness, Botafogo was destroyed by Pachuca, it was a 3 x 0 defeat and Pachuca almost had a penalty, this game was really unpredictable, whoever bet on Pachuca made a good profit! Since I didn't know it, I decided to stay out of it, did anyone here make a profit on this match? Totally unlikely

-snip-
My jaw dropped seeing the score at 3. My friends are those who made profit from this game because my bets were against their own bets. And tomorrow I am going to be made their laughing stock.

I have decided within myself to bet on Al Ahly to win in their game against Real Madrid. This club already has some good stats. Can they even win Real Madrid. They have some good players but real Madrid isn't just some random club.

I'm already getting confused with all these tournaments - Clubs World Cup, Intercontinental Cup and etc. When you make so many different tournaments, I don't know how such trophies can get significance.
Botafogo won Brazil league just few days ago, so, probably they weren't able to celebrate it much. It's historical season for them as they won not just domestic league, but Copa Libertadores too.
It's 0:0 at halftime and not most exciting game. Don't know what exactly format of this game, it's extra time or straight to penalties, but I wouldn't be surprised if winner won't be diceided in regular time.

Also recently heard about Botafogo after they won a final with 2 red cards, that was a very impressive victory. More tournaments to expose clubs from every continent is a good addition to football.

If you're talking about Copa Libertadores, they won with with 1 red card, but anyway, it was very impressive final.
FIFA is trying spice up football the more by creating more competition,  maybe they're looking for a way to make this club world cup become super interesting to watch,  but it would be better if they stick to club world cup, as the name sounds more unique.

However, creating more of these competition would only result in overworking of these players as they already have much games to play, league Cup, champions league, nations cup , international friendlies,  qualifying games and other case ,a year we have world cup.

If results were sure, would these matches be exciting?

I had a friend who always bet for Barça (sure bets, he said) and, guess what? he didn't earn much money. The variables in a single match are so unpredictable that even if you have a clear favourite, you can never be sure and surprises will eventually happen. It would be too easy otherwise, wouldn't it?

I'm also confused, but I believe that this is the world tournament played annually, it has been played since the 60s, only recently FIFA decided to make its own tournament with clubs from all over the world

The one that was played today is only with intercontinental champions (someone correct me if I'm wrong)

For the big teams it will lose significance and they will be fielding reserves players for it to stay competitive with major tournaments, but the smaller teams will not mind and will relish every moment.

Oh, I was bugging, I remembered the cards wrongly. Thank you for the correction.

I had not heard about this competition before and after some research it actually is new, this should be the first time it is played.

This is the first time I've heard about this team Pachuca from Mexico. I did a quick Google search and it really isn't a very well-known team, so in this case I believe that Botafogo will win, as they are very excited about the recent titles they've won.

And all of this is quite curious. Not even in my wildest dreams would I have imagined a Real Madrid vs. Botafogo match. How crazy is it all?

Mexican teams were usually strong teams, but I think Botafogo's moment is exceptional
A very important factor is that Mexican teams stopped playing in the Libertadores in 2016 and this greatly affects their technical level when facing opponents from other countries
The teams that play in the Libertadores are better prepared and even stronger because they face Brazilian, Argentinian and Uruguayan teams, thus raising the technical level

This is the odds:

Predicted line-ups:
Botafogo: John, Mateo Ponte, Adryelson, Alexander Barboza, Alex Telles, Gregore, Marlon Freitas, Luiz Henrique, Thiago Almada, Jefferson Savarino, Igor Jesus.

Pachuca: Carlos Moreno, Carlos Sanchez, Sergio Barreto, Gustavo Cabral, Bryan Gonzalez, Pedro Pedraza, Elias Montiel, Arturo Gonzalez, Oussama Idrissi, Nelson Deossa, Salomon Rondon.

Since no one has created a thread, I'm creating one so that we can follow the most exciting phase of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup
Thank you for creating this important thread. I didn't think much to create one since I rarely bet on football matches.

I haven't heard about the team from Mexico too until this moment. Just like you, my bet if I were to place one would be on Botafogo. They have had an impressive run.
And the winner of Botafogo, Pachuca or Al Ahly will face Real Madrid in final, december 18th
I have the feeling that would be the team to face Real Madrid. And if Real Madrid under estimates them, they'll be at them because that would make more news that when it is the other way around.

Since no one has created a thread, I'm creating one so that we can follow the most exciting phase of the FIFA Intercontinental Cup

Today, in a few minutes there's the Botafogo vs Pachuca match

Botafogo (Brazil) x Pachuca (Mexico)

The winner will face Al Ahly, December 14th

And the winner of Botafogo, Pachuca or Al Ahly will face Real Madrid in final, december 18th

What are your bets?
Too easy for Real Madrid or another team can face and play against the Spanish team?
