Anyone placing any BTC bets on the next round of World Cup games? I may be looking for some action (for fun) around here Smiley

Would recommend Betmoose for the Semi-Final Matches here but if you want a higher multiplier could bet on the finals match a few days early

Patiently waits for the next round

Thanks...I rather bet people on the forum though just for fun for BTC.   I bet cash if I am making more significant bets (which isn't all that often)...

You want a friendly bet : 0 BTC but the loser has to write a message saying the winner is awesome Grin

Who will be in finals? If you get 2/2 and the other 1/2 or 0/1 you win; if we both get the same score, the one who got the finals winner wins; in any other case it's a draw

My pick : Argentina Brazil, Argentina wins you're in?

That one sounds fun for a 0 bid I admit that X is a much better predictor than me
And makes sense the min bid is 0.0005 so its pretty small sometimes you get an obvious result though and it makes more than the Bitcoin securities market mumble... (Waits for a Just-Dice recovery in the meantime)

Since games begin tommorrow
Going with Brazil and Germany
Brazil since Neymar is back and healed up for the game otherwise I would credit Colombia with the win
Germany just because I think the Germans are a solid team that will eek it out against the French. (In head 52 to 48 chances in favor of Germans)

Argentina Brazil hmm if Brazil makes it past this round your on Tongue
Also means Argentina beats Belgium so seems like a good matchup.

That said to get to that matchup
Argentina needs to fights the Netherlands After or on the off chance Costa Rica which seems to be OP
If Brazil survives here think Germany or France is a bit lighter in terms of difficulty than Colombia though.

its Brazil's world cup to lose.

HAHA nice second post

At this point I'm mainly hoping for a Brazil -- Argentina final.  I think that would be a wonderful ending since those two south american powerhouses are on opposite sides of the bracket.

My sister in law is brazilian but secretly I would route for Arg and Messi!

Am betting on Argentina, they can really win it : Holland, Costa Rica, Switzerland and Colombia are weaker, France is really an outsider and weaker, Brazil is an accident waiting to happen, Germany is strong but the match against Switzerland would worry the most optimistic german

Germany is going to be the world champion this is my prediction.

They may end up in final if they beat Brazil but they will lose

7 of the Germany teams got flu, one day before the match

http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/jul/03/world-cup-2014-germany-flu-scare

will this affect the chances?

From the article:

Quote
“Seven players are slightly ill with flu symptoms,” said Löw. “It is not that bad at the moment and it could be partly about air conditioning, the travel, temperature differences. I do not want to make a drama of it. We hope the situation will ease.”

Well what a important news, i was about to put my bets on, but with this.. it becomes more difficult, i mean the performance they can give having flu depends of the severity of the symptoms, if you have fever its likely that you cant even play 30 minutes. But who knows the exact mood they have, hope they recover fast.

The question is will Brazil start playing as well as expected; they can use the pressure to their advantage, there is always pressure if the prize is huge

I doubt it. Rumor has it that Neymar is still hurt from the Chile match and not at 100%. In my view Brazil after 2002 constantly made the mistake of forming their strategy around the big star of the team at the time.

First it was Ronaldinho, then Kaka now it's Neymar. Their luck is that the Neymar did a good job and rest of the team are top class players as well otherwise they would already have shared the fate of Portugal who made the same mistake. Same goes for Argentina, they are just still in because for them the strategy works because Messi seems to be at 100% condition and a Messi on 100% is simply unstopable. But they would play a lot better if they'd work as a team and share the pressure and responsibilities.

And again we get to Colombia who have a huge star as well with James Rodriguez that easily plays on the same level as Neymar, CR7 or Messi, but he's still just a part of the team.

Brazil and Colombia is going to be an awesome match. Hope the Colombians take it to them!

Yeah so far the Colombians played really strong. Their four offensive guys and especially James Rodriguez are on a really good run. I can't believe the guy's just 22. It's very likely he'll become the top scorer of the tournament if they beat brazil and make it into the semi finals. His first goal against Uruguay was the best goal of the tournament so far.
