Mexico was better. No doubt. They played better and wanted to win more than the Croats did. N. Kovac was doing bad stuff with the team though, he put Modric and Rakitic in defense, and wouldn't let them go past the center.
Croatia were pretty hard done by in the first game. If Neymar had been sent off for that elbow he lashed out with it would have been a completely different tournament for the hosts.
Should have probably been Mexico and Croatia going through, although that would have been terrible for the locals!

Besides England... THEY GONE HOME !!!! Quite a few of those teams have 'gone' home now, and a few more of them are 'going' home soon. I had England and Spain to go through, massively surprised that neither are through to the next stage. At least Spain enjoyed their swansong as World Champions.

Spain decided to finally show up in a match that no longer matters. Too bad :/ but like Xavi Alonso said, they didn't have the mental and physical form to win the Cup with the same team from before.

But from the beginning I had the same vision as that and was completely wrong You're not alone on that. Many people had some of these teams down to progress, possibly even go on to win it. Alas that's the beauty of the World Cup, especially when hosted in South America. It is shaping up to be one of the best in recent times!
WHO would have thought though! I mean seriously? Spain losing the way they did and England gone! I mean c'mon! WHAT DARK MAGIC IS THIS?!?!
