Today's matches in Group C promise to be very interesting. All teams are still fighting for promotion to the next phase of the World Cup. Contrary to appearances, Mexico, closing the table with 1 point, is not without a chance for promotion. A high defeat of Poland with Argentina cannot be ruled out, and this will open a chance for Mexico if it defeats Saudi Arabia. I will not be surprised either if Poland and Saudi Arabia advance from the group. Many scenarios are possible, and we have already seen some surprises at this World Cup. However, the elimination of Argentina at this stage of the tournament would be a real sensation. Especially that their group rivals do not impress with form, apart from the first match of Saudi Arabia.

There are several scenarios that could happen in this Group C match. even Saudi Arabia has the chance to subvert Mexico, if luck is on their side. in fact Saudi Arabia gave us a surprise, in the first game against Argentina. Likewise with Argentina, on paper Messi and his friends will easily qualify in the group phase. but in fact, they lost points in their first game.

Personally, Argentina is our favorite team. however, it seems that we do not expect more Argentina to be able to advance to the final round. Poland isn't a very strong team, but they won't be easy to beat either. the reason is, Lewandowski and his friends have packed 4 points, Poland only needs a draw and hopes that Saudi Arabia will overthrow Mexico. there are various scenarios that can occur, all teams in this group still have hope.

however, I am quite optimistic that Argentina will win the match. for Saudi Arabia vs Mexico, it looks like this fight will end with a thin score.

Looks like the first games of 1/16 should be fairly easy for Netherlands against the USA and England against Senegal and I doubt there will be any surprise for these two teams to go further to 1/8 stage.USA yesterday in the last minute suffered truly a lot and the VAR neglected a penalty to Iran which could have as well equalized,I liked the game very much because beside the sport battle there was also a political battle here which sparked the game even further,it was truly enjoyable to watch.
I am guessing that Senegal game will not be that much easy for England, I get that they played well so far but Senegal is a wildcard team that could end up beating anyone, the usual expectation is not for them to beat England but it is also not impossible neither and could happen, they are known for their unexpected wins, so England should be very careful about what they do.

Netherlands against USA is the same logic, yes they finished first on their group but they got a tie with Ecuador, which means anything could happen with this game as well, they may end up with USA loss and then the whole world would be shocked. Betting on these should be very careful.
The weekend is already here and the actions will speak best on the field. The four teams meeting have their various weak points. England Vs Senegal. England has so much advantage over Senegal but Senegal are crafty in their games it might not be as easy as expected for England.

Netherlands were lucky to play in a group where everything went so easy for them. I won't count on Netherland to win USA. USA will play for a draw. If they could get a draw against England then Netherland should be much more easier to either win or draw.

the four countries have the opportunity to qualify for the match in group C. when talking about Poland and Argentina it's not a matter of the country that we're discussing but between two classy players between Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi will prove whoever wins that he deserves to be a champion in this world cup but I think Argentina doesn't just give up because Lionel Messi wants to prove in career career he became a world class player number 1 wanted to bring the World Cup trophy to his country

It was such a hard-fought win for USA as well. Their performances in the first half and second half were completely different. Iran started to be a part of this match in the second half and they even found more chances to score as well. But somehow USA managed to keep the match at 1-0. I didn't like their trying to secure a 1-0 score instead of going for more in the second half. Conceding one goal could have been their end in the World Cup.
Iran ruined its chance to progress in the World Cup easily although they only needed a draw to qualify.. They weren't focusing much on the game, they let US players play freely in many opportunities. They missed easy goals and so on. They deserved to lose.
USA has been dominating the match with 5 shots on goal while iran was only getting 1 shots on goal. That proves that any attack that already made by iran was not effective against USA. USA has proves its performance during the world cup. Netherland may become a very tough opponent for USA. it caused by USA may need to work very hard due to the some netherlands players are still on fire at this moment. I just hope that USA can make it. That will prove if USA was also good in football.

Although it is your prediction but Netherlands against USA isn't an easy fixture for the Dutch side, to me it is an evenly balanced encounter. Netherlands haven't been all spectacular this tournament except Gakpo. The USA side against England can be worthy of a win against this Netherlands.

Senegal vs England would slight give edge to the English side due to the massive talent they have. But the England players sometimes switch off or reduce there tempo during a game just like the one against USA. And I see the Senegalese side taking advantage of that since they have energetic players to keep there tempo till the end of their game.
I like your opinion, even though the United States is the runner up but it cannot be underestimated, because there are many good players that the Netherlands cannot predict, even though the United States will lose not too big in terms of points. I don't know why Senegal is a team that can be said to be pleasing to the eye in terms of maintaining the tempo of the game. It's a shame that my favorite player didn't play because of an injury, namely sadio mane. Senegal is a very qualified coach, surely he learned from the mistakes that in the previous group phase England could not win easily against Sinegal it looks like there will be extra time or also a penalty shootout that's my opinion

Even though USA and Senegal cannot be underestimated but I am quite sure for the Netherlands to win although indeed, before that USA could also prove when they drew 0-0 against England. In fact, from the statistics, the reality is that USA is not too bad at all, so on paper it is possible that the match between Netherlands v USA could be a tough match, as happened when USA played against England.
But for some reason, I feel the Netherlands will still win in this match, whether it's in the normal 90 minutes or until extra time.

But on the other hand for England, even though it is clear that England is superior in many factors, I predict Senegal will still have a chance to qualify but yes, the chance for Senegal to qualify is indeed low. Because I think, Senegal could have played well in defense to put England in a stalemate.
If that happens, then Senegal can take advantage of it with a quick counterattack or survive until penalties. With Senegal having goalkeeper Edouard Mendy I think they can do quite well in defence. Indeed, so far Senegal has not always kept clean sheets but who knows, against England Edouard Mendy can keep his net from conceding.

It is very hard to predict results of today's matches in my opinion. I honestly can't be sure if Argentina can secure win against Poland. Polish defence is good. Argentina on ther other hand looks pretty mediocre except Lionel Messi. In other match I am sure Mexico is far better than Saudi Arabia. But Saudi Arabia is surprising and they may dedicate themselves to go next round. Its funny group indeed and any betters can make fortune just through this group's coming surprising results.

After their weak game against USA, England looked pretty strong against Wales yesterday. I do think they are going deep this worldcup and hopefully will not be knocked out in the next stage. Same for Portugal this week, they are playing well and should go far. As for today's matches France vs Tunisia is going to be interesting, France is already through with their first two wins and don't need to give a 100% in the match today. But I still think this is going to be a free win for France. Denmark and Australia both are playing for the 2nd place in Group D and could advance if they win today. So a draw is very unlikely, one of the two teams has to win and Denmark seems much stronger. I like the odds for Australia and will place a small bet on them just in case we will see a miracle.  Also in the Poland vs Argentina match they need to play for a winner to make sure that Argentina is advancing in the next stage. I will go with Messi on this one. And then there is the Saudi Arabia match vs Mexico. Both teams could win the 3 points and theoretically still advance to the next rounds. Both of the games should be very interesting and I would expect to see many goals. I am sticking with Mexico on this one as they will do anything possible to try qualify for the next round.

Much more interesting is the rivalry between Ecuador and Senegal, which will fight directly for promotion. Ecuador is in a better position, as a draw is enough for them. However, I believe Senegal can definitely win and we are in for an exciting match.
The game between Senegal and Ecuador is also in progress and the winner of the match will qualify to the knockout stage with Netherlands which I think will have an easy win against Qatar.

Senegal is leading 1:0 against Ecuador in the first half of the game they will move to the next stage and Ecuador and Qatar will be out of the competition should Senegal maintain the one-goal difference till the final whistle. I believe the African team will hold on the goal and be among the first African team to qualify for the knockout stage if not the first.
Ecuador against Senegal ended 1-2 in favor of Senegal.
Despite losing their first game and having Mane out due to injuries sustained while playing for his club, Senegal was able to go to the round of 16 of the world cup.

I was one of the select few who consistently predicted that Senegal will perform well in this World Cup and qualify, and they have. Senegal deserves praise for becoming the first African nation to advance from the group stage.
Tbh Senegal did excellently well to qualify for the round of 16. Despite losing their star man, they kept the spirit of playing with seriousness. Ecuador had the upper hand to qualify because they needed only a point why Senegal needed a win. It’s surprising how it turned in favour of the Senegal National team.  It’s really a big one for the Senegal team. Commitment, hardWork and teamwork did the trick.
Senegal deserves kudos. There is a lot of balance in Senegal's team. With their wins against Ecuador, the African champions advance to the next round! With six points from three matches, Senegal finishing second in Group A, two points ahead of Ecuador, despite Ecuador's superiority. You should celebrate when grabbing a win out of the jaws of defeat. While I'm happy to see Senegal qualify, I'm concerned about their match against England. That's the end of Senegal's story!

Iran ruined its chance to progress in the World Cup easily although they only needed a draw to qualify.. They weren't focusing much on the game, they let US players play freely in many opportunities. They missed easy goals and so on. They deserved to lose.
It can be because of pressure they carried. They had a chance to go through group stage for a first time that I am sure contains a lot of pressure on their shoulders.

In quality Iranian players are not better than the USA players so with that pressure, it's reasonable to see they played worse than what they can do at best. Last but not least, the USA have better record in World Cup and their players have more appearances in top five European leagues. The scorer for them, Pulisic played in Borussia Dortmund and Chelsea. I have no doubt about his quality and experience at world-class matches.

I didn't expect less from the host of 1994 world cup. After that tournament that US hosted, we saw outburst of their players plying their trade in top leagues including EPL. Currently, Matt turner is with arsenal, Zackary Thomas Steffen though not part of the current team in Qatar but is the Middlesbrough keeper on loan to Manchester United. The US team is far experienced than Iran but something is still missing in the attack, Timothy Tarpeh Weah (the son of the former world class footballer turned Liberian president, George weah) need more stability and confidence with the ball. Anyway, they may have tough team playing against the Netherlands on 3rd of December at the Knock out stage. I think I'm going on a bet for Senegal to beat English side on 4th despite not having their key Sadio mane.

Today I saw a very interesting news that will occur in one of the qualifying games:
Fifa announced the selection of three women to command the arbitration in the Costa Rica-Germany match that will take place on Thursday and which is worth a place in the round of 16. It is the first time in the history of the world cup that this will happen.

For those who want to know the names to go researching their reputation... The French Stéphanie Frappart will be the referee of the duel, accompanied by the Brazilian Neuza Back and the Mexican Karen Diaz.

Now that's interesting.

I didn't know it was possible to do that.

In other sports, like NHL, American Football, etc, the players can be of any gender, there's no men's league, it's just a human's league.

In Association Football though, there are differences in gender. Not sure if that also applied to the referees as well and they just changed that now.

Interesting.

From what I've seen in the other sports, there's not much difference because at the elite level you have biological differences and it's just impossible for a top elite woman to compete against a top elite man. That's why the Olympics have separate genders as well.

Yes me too,  Grin, but I do not always support them, several games (vs Netherlands) ago I don't select them because I'm sure the Netherlands is stronger. But we mustn't forget that Senegal is Africa's champion. they're pretty solid even with or without Mane, and In fact, they won against Qatar also which makes them has become opponents who not be underestimated by any team like England on the 16 round.
