And there are specific regions in India where football is more popular than cricket. Examples are Bengal, Northern Kerala, Goa and Northeast India.

Well, there's nothing out of ordinary about that because that's just how the USA impose some threats because I don't think that there's some words in that phrase that needed some emphasis to help the people understand. It's just like a friendly reminder from their behalf but believe me, they will literally do that when an alien forces their way inside the country. But the thing is we won't know because surely, they won't be doing that publicly.

Well, due to the problems of some countries, we have seen that many people have entered the USA irregularly, because the things of some third world countries have forced them to do so, however in a world cup things are at a different price, they You know very well that most of the fans are from South America, and the number of visas for some countries is impressive, and these policies cannot and should not be applied, as I said before, a temporary visa should be made to be assigned to many fans, or at least those who are going to attend the games, this is so that something can be achieved in favor of the sport and that the show is maintained, this obviously applies to the countries of South America, 'because Europeans and North Americans can enter and leave any country whenever they want.

The reason is simple, more countries participating = more popularity and more money.

Now a slightly better explanation:
Countries that don't participate in the world cup lose a lot of interest in watching and consuming FIFA content.
So the obvious way out they found was to include more countries, so the world cup will be watched more, FIFA will sell the broadcast rights to more countries, and possibly for a higher price. The licensed materials should also sell more.
On the more bureaucratic side, this decision must have pleased the smaller confederations that hardly qualify with the 32 countries, and remembering that these confederations have exactly the same voting power as the larger confederations, so Fifa president Gianni Infantino will gain popularity in the next elections.

FIFA has lifted ban on Indian football federation last year and India fifa ranking is 106 which is far better then Pakistan. As Pakistan is standing at very last position of Fifa ranking i.e. 195th position. Still India is far away from qualifying for FIFA worldcup despite the fact that they have good leagues going on in the country. India may qualify for 2034 WC if they keep moving with current pace.

It is good to see India back to football, history about India football stories is interesting. For India not participating in football for a longtime I think it will be tough for them to participate with football teams that has been in the game. It will take them time to qualify.

The tournament's level of competitiveness is lessened even if it does provide more countries the chance to play. With so many countries competing, there is a higher likelihood that a lower-ranked team may advance to the latter rounds of the competition, which can lessen the thrill and prestige of the World Cup.

A decrease in the competitiveness of the qualifying matches may result from more teams competing straight from various confederations. As you indicated, the race for the seventh berth won't be as tough as it once was with 6 teams qualifying straight from CONMEBOL. This might result in fewer interesting and significant matches during the qualification round.

I am aware that FIFA wants to increase the number of countries that may compete in the World Cup. However, there should be a balance between the number of teams competing and the quality of competition in order to preserve the tournament's status and interest.

Well, I would like to ask a question, what is your opinion regarding the increase in teams during the world cup? 32 to 48 participating teams is a massive increase in my opinion.
