Any reason why they decided to host the 2026 FIFA world cup in three different countries?

With this move, i personally think the experience wouldn't be as fun as the currently ended Qatar 2022 world cup, most especially for those that would want to travel to watch the match being played live, travelling back and forth between this countries for the sole purpose of watching a football match wouldn't just be stressful and would also consume a lot of money.

Anyways, we are looking forward to the game once again, ,may God keep each and every one of us alive till then so we could all share in the fun.

this is also am curious about. 3 countries for this upcoming world cup. it would be expensive for a lot of fans following this event. i hope the committee will still change their minds on this matter. also, this may be a long event as there are more teams competing with each other. so yeah, fatigue and injuries should be expected from this event. but let us see how these 3 countries will make this world cup a different experience to the athletes as well as football fans.

If Argentina had not won this just concluded edition of the world cup, it would have been difficult to win this upcoming one with the more teams they will have to play. With the increased matches each team will have to play, Players will get more fatigued, and the chances of injuries will be higher in the competition. I do not know who brought up this idea, but I hope they already have a plan to make it work because for the period which the competition will hold, they will be a lot of rowdiness.

The Fifa world cup 2026 will be co-hosted by three nations United States, Canada and Mexico.

Key Highlights

1- This will be the first time we will see 48 teams in the tournament, instead of 32.
2- There will be a total of 80 matches to be played in this Fifa world cup.
3- United States will host 60 Matches
4- Canada and Mexico will host 10 matches each.

Qualification

The qualification process for the FIFA 2026 world cup has not been finalized but this is for sure that more teams will be able to fulfill their dreams of playing in the Fifa world cup.

We shall discuss everything from qualification, preparation, and then the commencement of the actual Fifa world cup in 2026.  Smiley
The world cup is one of football most interesting tournaments reason been that it involves all the countries from different continents participating in it. This Qatar world cup so far has been one of the most interesting of all world cup i have watched due to all the drama, suprises and history made in the world cup.

For the 2026 world cup to be hosted by three nations is not a great idea for me, i don't see any necessity for that because its just going to be an expensive transportation system for football fans to be traveling to and fro through out North America.  For the additional teams its a wonderful idea because i think the chances given to European teams in the world cup is too much and with this addition of more teams,  fifa should just try and make everything fair and add up more countries from other continents.

I'm not sure how to respond to this, happy or sad, or appreciate it. 48 contestants, how long will it take for this world cup celebration to be held until the final round. On the other hand, we from Asia have an additional quota of 8 slots to compete in the 2026 World Cup One more slot can be obtained by Asian representatives through the intercontinental playoffs.

Does FIFA plan for more advanced football, or will the matches become more monotonous with low quality participants? without taking the Asian participants for granted, but there will be more small teams than big squads. big clubs will be disadvantaged by the length of time the world cup performances will take place, especially if their star players get injured. and there is no guarantee that by increasing the quota of participants, the development of football will experience many changes, especially in Asia.

I think FIFA is intentionally doing it with 48 teams instead of 32 in order to promote football even more, even in countries which had never a possibility to be in such a huge event like the World Cup and I agree with this policy they are taking for this upcoming World Cup.

I don't think that the games will be monotonous at all,the so called small teams will give not their 100% but their 200% because they want to show what they are made of and we will most probably see a better World Cup than this one we just saw in Qatar just a week ago.
The 2022 Qatar World Cup is just over and the joyous streak is not over yet. I don't believe it's a good idea to think about the 2026 World Cup right now.
I will say that the reason why some people introduce the discussion of 2026 world cup it's because of they don't know what to discuss again, so therefore from another way of understanding, some people are short of words and what to discuss that is why they are discussing what they don't know precisely, and this is another way of spamming from my understanding , so i believe that it's a strategic spamming because 2026 is still far.

That is going to be an interesting world cup and 3 different countries will be an experience for everyone, 48 teams means more matches and more thrill.  More competition,  more aggressive games and this will promote football in countries who were never the part of fifa world cup.
Now we have to see either  that world cup can match to level to the world most Qatar recently hosted or not.

It is a nice idea to organize the World Cup in different countries. But in terms of transport, it is not optimal for the players. You will always have to travel up and down, which is not great for your preparation. And the distances between these countries can also be considerable. Mexico and a World Cup, we've already experienced that once before in 1986. I thought everything had gone pretty well then. It surprises me a little that they organize the World Cup, since America is not really a football country at all. At least, football is not among the 3 most popular sports. Maybe not even in the top 5.

I don't think the world cup would be interesting like this. They should have just left it for just one country to host. Well, let's see how it goes. As for the the 48 teams instead of  32, I like it. It would make it possible for more countries to be part of the tournament. The world cup is always an interesting tournament no matter what but it's going to be really difficult to see a world cup more interesting than the one we just had in Qatar. I'm a big fan of the world cup and I always anticipate it. I hope the next one proves me wrong and becomes more interesting than that of Qatar.
I do had the same thought. Just for twenty matches adding two more countries isn't needed. Those 20 matches in Mexico and Canada isn't gonna make any big contribution to the nations. Qatar have done with perfection, but human lives lost during the process hasn't received proper compensation. Anyhow USA will try to make it better than the World Cup in Qatar. As one of the user mentioned the Visa process will surely be a hindrance for football fans around the world to reach USA for watching the matches.
while there were so much criticism on the Qatar event - there are people who have appreciated it and like and admired the world cup and ranked it as the best world cup in the history.
But how is the world cup 2026 will be taking place at  3 places? Will Canada be inviting as many visitor are Qatar did?

I am not sure if the visa policy will be as easy as for the Qatar.
Canada and USA has a strict visa policy and they are very expensive. The way visitors visited Qatar will not possible in 2026
