Wow congrats! I am also doing that as a freelance writer and marketing manager. I prefer crypto as payment than fiat. Good choice!
maybe for the op's country and you, it's not a problem because it already recognizes crypto, obviously many are more happy to accept these payments. but we also know that there are still many countries that do not recognize crypto and that will be a problem in itself, if forced to accept payments with crypto.
because they still continue to use fiat as a legal tender.

in principle I really agree that it is possible to make payments with crypto, because it will be one step ahead and greatly benefit those who receive payments.

Congratulations op, i must say this is really something good start up for earning bitcoin. It sounds like, op have trust enough on bitcoin, and thats why he agreed to go for bitcoin as payment even after bad market condition, which is wise move. i think thus you Should try to take others payment with bitcoin. Generally you need to expenses for livelihood but if you hold then rest of available dollar with bitcoin, could be big achievement for you
I think being paid in bitcoin is already a good start to invest in bitcoin especially if you can hold it for years as it could mean bigger profits. But the fact that 1 bitcoin is 100x valuable than fiat, i guess that's already a big advantage for us regardless whether it has lower or higher value for now due to its volatility. In my country, a single bitcoin could even buy a new house or a new car, that's how expensive it is. But maybe for now you may get paid in a small portion of bitcoin but once it will be compounded, it will still create a huge value in the long run. So congrats OP, your efforts are now well compensated.

Those who has got paid in Bitcoin for their work during last several weeks, how do you cope with price drops? I know that most of you most probably just hold, but still, today the reward your work is significantly lower than it was when you and your client made an agreement of work and payment. I am interested how to do cope with emotional discomfort. As this is not the same as you have made a trade and your profit is lower. Your work evaluates lower than is used to be.

No need to have hard feelings about drops of price , we just have to cope with it either by holding it for sometime umtill when their is increase in the market or to sell if the bitcoin is needed in urgent , it can be in the other way round too anytime if payment is made and the price goes up. Their is a quote which says "if you meet the dip today do not panic  it also possible to meet some gains tomorrow when the market rises in values".

I guess you never had a job with payment in Bitcoin, so you post is rather useless, as everyone knows that holding is everything for Bitcoin.
Tell, when you get your fiat salary and see that the prices in shops are increasing, do you also hold your fiat and wait for shop prices to go down? Do you prefer to starve?

Now move this situation to our topic. You got paid in Bitcoin for your job, its value goes down, but you need to pay your bill and buy food. You will hold and wait for "tomorrow gains" ?
This is the reason why bitcoin jobs or investments should never be our main source of income since we will really starve in the end, but it could be the best investment that we can hold for now and reap the gains when the price is already at peak. But OP, you did a great job so congrats. I guess OP is just trying to encourage us that bitcoin is not just an investment alone but it could also be in the form of salary as long as you have special skills and talents in bitcoin.

That will be the risk upon having Bitcoin as it possibly loses its value for quite some time that is why we have to convert it to fiat money if we wanted to be safe or if we are not preferred for holding. This is one of the concerns that many workers and even merchants halt to accepting Bitcoin, of course, fiat is the safest one as no change in its value. This certainly be an option and our willingness to accept it, and OP is quite happy to have this experience without minding the changes.
The risk of volatility or bitcoin losing some of its value doesn't necessarily bother bitcoin adopters for payments. Some people prefer to hold bitcoin rather than immediately convert them to fiat upon receipt of [investment] payment and while others may sell bitcoin for fear of losing their value.

I think it doesn't matter how they use bitcoin because as long as they can afford the risk of losing then they can hold it and if they don't want to lose value because of the capital used they can sell it as soon as possible.

If you write apps for a living you could have easily get paid in crypto long ago. All you need to do is announce your services to the public.
We have a services board where you can easily announce your services and people who want it can reach out to you.
That's how many are getting paid in crypto for their work. It's great that you have now begun to get paid in crypto.
You can show your samples and may get the next task assigned to you soon. All the best.

Almost 8  years of account being here in crypto , how long have you been doing that service ? because you just post this now here meaning is this the very first time that you experienced being paid in bitcoin?
mostly accepting altcoin as payment is that what you meant here?
It feels good to get the first paycheque in Bitcoin, that feeling when your first Satoshi lands in your wallet it gives some relief knowing you can work and get paid in Bitcoin and it doesn't require any paperwork or third-party agent to get your payment.
Lol paycheck? are you serious? there will never be a check because this is crypto and a online transaction lol.

I also get paid in Bitcoin, and I have been working for so long now and my payment has been in Bitcoin from the beginning. The first time that I got paid in BTC, I wasn’t really the one who asked for it, although then I don’t really have much interest in accepting Bitcoin for payments in the job that I do, but I had a BTC wallet. So, it happened that I got a job through indeed.com, and the company I was going to work for told me that they would like to make payments using any crypto of my choice, so I looked at the idea and I felt it was a good one. I decided that I would accept it and that was how I did my first job That got me paid through Bitcoin. Till now I am accepting it for the web developing job I do.

I've been paid twice in bitcoin for some php bugs fixing in an ecommerce platform (magento), small amounts but still.. I know the feeling and is amazing. Congrats OP!
Don't mention that it's not a lot because it's still money and a little appreciation goes a long way. I haven't been paid in bitcoin for some work yet but I am working on a marketable skill to be able to make sure that I can offer some sort of services but for now, I guess I'll have to stick with getting paid for writing posts in this forum.

Congrats on your win! This may seem a small achievement to some, but to be paid whether big or small amount by doing the things you love and you are passionate about is something worth celebrating. It's a victory no matter what. Indeed, bitcoin has so many opportunities to offer. The things offered related with crypto is endless and anyone can really make a profit and even a living by utilizing their knowledge and skills connected and in line with it. Hopefully, you'll be able to continue what you are doing. Don't settle for less and demand the right compensation for your work. I wish this kind of compensation would be adopted and be thought of other individuals and establishments as well. Giving the employee/worker an opportunity to pick and choose what form of salary they want to receive to is a great way to start.

It is a great experience anyway...having a chance to get paid for Bitcoin at this time is somewhat a stepping stone to the reality that Bitcoin can be a form of currency in the future. Maybe 5 years from now major establishments will do this.
Well, I received payment from the signature campaign but it was a different feeling when you got paid from your job.
It is to know that more people are getting knowing about cryptocurrency, especially for Bitcoin, and likely to go for adoption.
