I think he's far from broke (unless he bought BTC at 20k and sold it all recently), he just wants more and more.
A former Japanese boxer ?  Roll Eyes
The guy should show a bit more respect for his sport and for the fans and stop taking stupid fights. Not sure about how he wants be remembered in the history of boxing but that doesn't do much good to his reputation.
I think Mayweather is immune to any criticism that we throw to him and instead, he just keeps going and going to make a lot of money in an easy way. He's been eaten by the greed of making a lot of money, well if anyone of you guys put on to his shoe what would you be doing? An easy money offer is a good way to make a lot of money. And I think it is not his choice that's why he accepts the offer, I think it is the Japanese people who want to make a scene with him.

I don't think he is immune, he answers every criticism on him by media, and I'm sure with the latest round of attacks if ever he accepts another fight from Japan, he will just answer that he's really in for the money, I guess. Legacy for him is not that important, he is greedy and will make more money of every chance he can get.
He always have it's position for money making process, there's no other answer that he will give the boxing community but just all for the money, we will just witness things when betting casinos start to demand placing odds for both fighters, just don't have any idea if this will be cater all over the world or just for the sake of Japanese community who will pay for this fight.

It the fight pushes through then it will be just for the sake of Japanese community, although I'm not sure about his first fight though it is is stream live in the US as well. Didn't check it because that fight is as scripted as it can get.

Another exhibition match is on the way this coming July for Floyd Mayweather. The opponent remains un-named as of this moment and all they know for now is he is a "former Japanese boxer", fight will be held in Japan and it will be in July this year and he will be paid $10 Million USD for this match. According to the news posted by TMZ, Floyd still have 4-5 matches this year and all matches combined can earn him $80 Million USD.

Source: https://www.tmz.com/2019/02/15/floyd-mayweather-boxing-july-exhibition-japan/

*topic will be updated once the opponent will be named and the exact date and venue has been announced.

If the fight will progress it would be a laughing stock. Since there is a legitimate opponent that could bring the crowd up in their feet in Manny Pacquiao's name but Mayweather still choose an unknown boxer to fight him. But I guess it is just another false propaganda because Mayweather will never again fight in the ring.
Laughing stock it is but Floyd Mayweather will be laughing his way to bank after the fight, regardless if he win or loose. Remember that its a boxing match (exhibition) for only 3 rounds, so if the fight lasted for 3 Rounds, he makes 3.3 Million USD per round, even if he just run around the ring and avoid being hit. He can also do what he did with Tenshin which is clown around in a the first seconds of the round and then get serious, easy 10 Million USD in just 1 Round.

I think this boxing much will be again about money matters again, remember his last fight from Pacquiao and Mc Gregor? They have big money bets all over the world some are local betting from solid supporters of each fighter. Surely 60% chance that They will have a rematched with Pacquiao, As I know Manny will not yet retire until he will defeat or have matched again with May Weather.
When Floyd is concerned, it will always be about money. That’s what his nickname is right? Money. Lol. With all the people know and supports someone, it’s just 50-50 and people think that who they are supporting is going to win. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just that a lot of money is being risked.

It’s funny when you had autocorrect on “May Weather”. Just noticed it Lol.

It means that Floyd isn't really a "retired" boxer anymore because he keeps on accepting exhibition match and the rumor about his fight with Pacquiao is still on negotiations.

Looks like Floyd becoming a brand for the Japanese people and he's been the number one choice of these boxers. It's just nothing to him as long as the offer is going to be that big.
There's no belt that will be stake and he will keep his records since every fight that he will accept is just for entertaining the fans, maybe Japanese
people are buying this dramas giving Mayweather lots of money, there's still no information and until the final date arrive it will be revealed and
be known by the community.
Yes, there's no need to stake for his title but retirement is retirement. Although some retirees before got to have some fun with showmatches but on his case, it is becoming often.

@OP do you have any lead now on who's going to be this mysterious boxer that Floyd will have a match with? Like the first exhibition match he did, I think we don't have any background for this fighter even it will be announced soon.

I thought it would be naoya inoue but he is not former Japanese boxer, he is still active on boxing.

Btw it says "A Japanese boxer, a former boxer, from what I heard, I got a call today." in this site: https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/8435989/floyd-mayweather-to-fight-a-former-japanese-boxer-in-first-of-five-exhibitions-that-will-make-him-62m/

Well, I watched his youtube video and he didn't mention the name of the Japanese boxer, what he said his the boxer is former Japanese boxer and I believe he haven't know his name either. Like he said, he's not ready to talk about fight and it all about been smart. Therefore, we cant be sure if Naoya Inouec was indeed the boxer he's going to fight this year.

He might not mentioned the names, but if its on another Japanese fighter, and as I have said in previous threads, Japanese boxers didn't compete in a high weight class, never seen them competing in the weight class where Mayweather at, so this is really not something boxing fans wanted to see to in July, another glorified sparring session. Anyhow, it's evident that he is afraid to fight Manny Pacquiao so there's nothing we can do and let the fans judge his reputation as he is becoming more of a joke fighter really.
I agreed with what you said because the interview shows that Floyd Mayweather is not ready to have a real good fight and all his aims are to make more money. However, Manny Pacquiao also seems not to be serious for fighting against Floyd when he seems not to be healthy.

You guys didn't hear? Mike Tyson is coming out of retirement to fight Floyd Money Mayweather.

Just kidding. Smiley
Lol. But yeah another game for money. I don’t know if there’s still someone who are betting on the other side, if you want sure profit go for Mayweather. This is pretty obvious and don’t just waste your money to watch the game, I’m telling you this is boring.

Mayweather surely making even more money coming from retirement.

With his busy and hectic schedule all throughout the year, looks like MP vs MW fans will have to wait for 10 more years until the latter finalized his decision of having a rematch with Pacquiao.

He is interested, Im sure of that, but there's a lot of easy money on the way that will not harm his clean boxing record. No way he will skip on that. Smiley

Maybe he is retired in professional boxing because exhibition games are just purely for entertainment.
I don't understand this guy, he is very unpredictable, he can change things anytime as long as there is money involved, the name says it all though.
Don't be surprise if one day he will be back on the wrestling match again.

Take this one as an example (Raw: Floyd Mayweather knocks out Big Show at WrestleMania)
Hahaha Floyd's really an unpredictable guy, showmatch or exbihition match he's up for there. But if the talks is about the rematch between him and Manny Pacquiao, we can't say if he's going to be serious about it.

Maybe that's his life now and he's into this kind of matches, nothing serious about it but the money he'll receive is totally serious about his talent fee/professional fee. Although he's "retired", he is still getting the buzz that he wants.

Floyd should begin calling himself Easy Money Mayweather hehehe.

However, if Floyd wants the easiest money with the biggest return then he should fight Khabib in boxing. Khabib has also expressed his desire for that fight because he also wants Conor level money for retirement hehehehe.

There is no retirement for Mayweather if its about money talk,we know how this man praises Money and whenever theres an offering to give him good income for sure he will break that word of retirement

And he was always been a man without word of honor so what are we expecting from this person?

I'm really surprised that he had a fight with a wrestler and it's Big Show. I don't know that it happened and I was entertained by the fact that he is against a WWE Superstar, I don't know. It's just entertainment like you said. Maybe he would still do it or maybe he won't. Maybe how much ridiculous it is, the more people are going to talk about it. I think that's the purpose of his matches.
