That is certainly reasonable, especially the Leverkusen club which indeed and still really needs a lot of money for their needs and the provision of this clause certainly has a basis Leverkusen or not they do not want to sell it and price it at an exorbitant price so that no one wants to penetrate it, Wirtz played very well under Xabi and he became one of the most prominent last season, it is only natural that his price is above 100 million and I think he does have a clause equivalent to that with his impressive game at Leverkusen of course I think he deserves it.

There have been interviews from multiple sources as far as I'm aware, so it's likely true. I don't think this signing aims to look for a first-choice goalkeeper, it's a stop-gap signing more than anything else. We can guess why Barca is not comfortable with their current backup keeper; either too inexperienced, not good enough for the tactics, financially constrained to look for better alternatives, existing goalkeepers need better guidance from a more experienced player, etc. Whether this is the right choice or not depends on the result I guess. I can already see the media write sensational titles like "Barca's genius" if this deal won them titles.

By the way, Barcelona has Iñaki Peña and Ander Astralaga. If I were Hansi Flick, I prefer these goalkeepers over Szczesny. Iñaki Peña has an experience in UCL although he isn't the main goalkeeper. He was quite good as the replacement of Ter Stegen in the match against Villareal. There was no another conceded goals when he was the goalkeeper at that time. And if Hansi Flick doesn't sign a new goalkeeper, Barcelona doesn't need to spend more money for a new player. We don't forget Barcelona is in financial crisis, they need to be very tight to spend money.
