Mason Mount just needs to strengthen his mentality at Manchester United because if you know the history of the number 7 shirt and when the player's performance doesn't live up to expectations the results will be painful for the player personally. Hopefully, Mason Mount can prove that it was the right decision and that it suits him at Man United.

Mount last season with Chelsea was not so good. in fact he only made 3 goals in one season in the Premier League. We know Chelsea last season was in poor form, but we don't know how he will develop at MU.

I didn't know he received shirt number 7 till I just read your post. Only the club's brightest players are given the number 7, and the majority of them go on to become club legends. Ever since Eric Cantona made the number 7 an iconic number, eyes have been fixed on it. David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo also accomplished legendary feats while wearing the number 7. It is not a good idea to bring in a new player and put too much pressure on him to replicate icons because this could make the player perform poorly under pressure. Before giving him the number 7, they could have waited at least a season, when he would have been more comfortable.

Mount is a very good player and he could pull it off and become an outstanding player and I won’t be suprised if he does but i wish they had given garnacho or waited for a while before giving him the number because to whom much is given much is expected.
