It's strange that Manchester City couldn't keep such a player, especially since Guardiola himself said that Gundogan is important for the team.
Maybe it's really not about the money and Gundogan decided to take a chance and fulfill his dream to play for Barcelona.
Many big players have either Barcelona or Real Madrid as their dream team and will always value an opportunity to play in these clubs if an opportunity presents itself. For Gundogan, he has always loved Barcelona and since he has already been successful in Manchester City more than he could have imagined, this is a good time to play in Barcelona. Manchester City tried to keep him, and Arsenal were even interested in signing him, but amongst all these interest, he still moved to Barcelona on a free transfer. That can purely be out of love. He is a huge benefit to Barcelona next season even in the champions league and every other competition they play. Barcelona striker and top scorer in the La Liga last season Lewandoski will benefit a lot from Gundogan.

What a legend.  Won't allow himself to be compromised for money.  It shows that money isn't his prime motivator.  But then again he prolly doesn't need more of it.  He prolly has enough to retire and just enjoy life.

I once said, of all the Madrid players, all the attention tends to be on their superstar or we can say on the Striker who is always the focus. but of the many Madrid players, only Luca Modric has an extraordinary work ethic. he is even consistent in almost every season, even though there always goes ups and downs. Luca Modric has a work ethic that really deserves appreciation, both for Madrid and the Croatian national team.
This man always gives his best performance. in fact, at the 2022 world cup Qatar.  by the way I'm not a Madrid supporter, but as a neutral fan. Luca Modric deserves to be appreciated by the club even though his performance has decreased due to age. in fact, he respectfully turned down the offer to play in the Saudi Pro League and chose to remain in the service of El Real.
Modric, is an extraordinary Madrid Legend.

Anyway what do you guys think of Havertz's possible transfer to Arsenal for 65m GBP?  I think it's good that Arsenal is splashing the cash but on Havertz?  Don't get me wrong I think he's a good player but 65m GBP for a misfiring striker?  I think he had less than 10 goals made last season...  But yeah maybe Arteta saw something that we don't.  Let's wait and see.

And there's some words swirling around that Jorginho could follow him.  Dunno...  But it does make sense for Chelsea to unload some players.

Speaking of Havertz, I'm completely confused by what Arteta is doing. however, it seems that he will never replace G.Jesus as the center forward. So, what do you think Arteta is planning? will he play on the wing, or will Arteta change his system and formation for next season. this is interesting, it could be that Arteta will make Havertz release his potential by playing with Arsenal.
and I hope that happens as a Gunners fan.

According to a bbcsport report Chelsea Kalidou Koulibaly had signed for a Saudi Arabian club Al-Hilal at fee reportedly worth £20m, recall Kalidou Koulibaly was signed by the Blues from Napoli last July having established himself as one of the best defender in Europe with the hope of playing for the next five season for the club, unfortunately that hope was dashed by his club abysmal performance in the league and UCL, he is the second Chelsea player heading to Saudi Pro league following the departure of Kante to Al-Ittihad and some Chelsea players like Hakim Ziyech and Mendy are also linked with a move to the Saudi Pro league in a bid by Chelsea to trim their squad for Pochettino to rebuild the team.
It's just matter of time until ziyech and mendy will have been reaching agreements with arabian clubs. The progress from mendy and ziyech are really positive at this moment. These players will be agreed to sign contracts with new clubs to play in saudi pro league.
Massive transfer by chelsea to the arabian clubs has been truggering so many questions to come. Glad to see that arabian clubs have been making chelsea's work to be much easier.
Chelsea must have removed a lot of players from the club. I hope that official announcement for ziyech and mendy will come soon.
Chelsea are experiencing a massive exodus of players. Kalidou Koulibaly has officially become the property of Al-Ahly and Kante belongs to Al-Ittihad. And then the two Blues players will also follow in the footsteps of their compatriots, Ziyech and Mendy will most likely also anchor in Arab lands. The departure of a number of important players in the Chelsea squad will certainly cause a variety of new problems. But Todd Boehly must have thought carefully and he also wants to trim his squad because he made a big transfer in the last transfer market.

Chelsea under Pochettino will certainly start a new chapter, he will be inherited by a potential young squad and of course Boehly will have high hopes for them to be able to restore the glory of the Blues.

MODRIC REJECTS A VERY LUCRATIVE DEAL FROM SAUDI ARABIA
I saw this tweet from Fabrizio Romano about Luka Modric turning down an offer to play in Saudi Arabia which according to him it's one of the biggest deal ever in football. He's already 37 years old and he should begin to accept reality that he's no more young and energetic. I don't really watch most of Real Madrid matches but I did watch their game against Manchester City in the champions league, and Modric was a shadow of himself in both legs. It is still the player's decision to choose where he wants to ply his trade but I feel he's already a club legend and has won everything he needs to win at Madrid and would have accepted the deal. What do you think guys? Share your thoughts.
He'll be legend always! Modric had received an offer to play in the Saudi Arabia league, but he decided to turn it down. Instead, 37-year-old Luka Modric signed a one-year contract extension with Real Madrid. He'd absolutely love to retire there, that would be great achievement for him. Not every great player chances to retire at their peak, while Modric might be one of them.

I don't think so, Gundogan is no longer young but his performance and quality are still very good and his protection is really needed by the Barcelona team, as we know now the Barcelona team is filled with many young players and they need motivation from senior players and Gundogan is a player who appropriate.
Gradually we see Xavi building a much better Barcelona team and for next season I have no doubts after seeing the steps they have taken.
Barcelona are simply broke, they cannot spend much on players so they are collecting players free from any contract to lower their spending.
Obviously Gundogan is a skilled player that can reinforce the midfield line after Busquets departure.
Having seniors and juniors to learn from each others is a perfect thing but we should know that in 2 years there will not be Gundogan nor Lewandowski in Barcelona and they should count on other young players for the future of the team
It looks like in the short term Barcelona will have serious problems because the finances are quite bad even though Barcelona really need reliable players to be able to perform well in the new season.
It seems that in the next season Barcelona will lose its popularity.
If not, Barcelona must immediately find a way to improve its finances by selling several players.

It looks like Chelsea wants to build a new team with young players who are at least not more than 30 years old because some of the players released to the Saudi Pro League have reached the age of 30, of course this is a long-term strategy because Pochettino wants to make Chelsea not only a great team in just one or two seasons but longer than that, and releasing these players will be good for the club's finances because having a lot of players but not contributing anything is really detrimental because that happened to Chelsea last season, buying players at high prices but no achievements, and don't be surprised if you see more EPL players going there or players from other leagues going there.
Chelsea want to rebuild their squad under new manager Pochettino and that's why they will sell the players who cannot able to give significant contribution for the team but indeed this summer Chelsea looks will sold a lot of players but their transfer behaviour looks very interesting because seems it was very effective and after gets Christopher Nkunku from Leipzig recently Chelsea has been reach an agreement with Villarreal player Nicolas Jackson

And these players which i mention above is positioned as an attacker and they were displayed good performance and scores a lot of goals at their former teams before and apparently Pochettino know the weakness of Chelsea that's why he was attempts to strengthen Chelsea front lines and besides that Chelsea also has gets Ecuador wonder kid Kendry Paez and Chelsea are willing to pay 17 millions as transfer fee although Kendry Paez still 17 years old but Chelsea believe he is as one of the most talented player from Ecuador

Leipzig are insistent on not letting him go for less than 100 million euros. Manchester City's latest offer is 90 million. Let's say Leipzig still didn't drop down from that level I wouldn't expect Manchester City to be hesitant to pay 100 million.
Imho, that is done deal because Gvardiol really wants to leave this year (he was also a little bit unhappy that when he didn't mobve to Chelsea last season) and I doubt that Leipzig will be able to sell him for much more even if he stays for a year or two.

While its true that he realistically doesn't need more money (neither did Messi, Benzema etc) I still woulnd't blame him if he accepted the offer and went to Saudi Arabia. Don't get me wrong, I am definitely glad that he stayed in Real as that way he can help our national team better as well, but we are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars here and I am sure many of us here would acceot the money, even if we already had tens of millions.

It's yet to be seen what Arteta has in store for him but my confusion is why the Gunners keep going for club rejects. A player like Kai Havertz should not be someone any player should intimidated by because someone like to Eddie Nketiah is way better than him but the attacker has stated he's tired of playing second fiddle since Gabriel Jesus came and feels he'd be benched again should Kai be given the No.8 jersey.

The way I see it, Kai will be much of a liability than assets just like Maitland Niles was.
Maitland Niles and Kai Haverts are different, Niles was came from Arsenal academy while Havertz is come from Chelsea, even though Niles is bad, but Arsenal isn't pay any money to sign him and only pay average salary.

You need to know if Arsenal is rarely signing wrong players, you can check on worst transfer of all time made by Arsenal, most of them were signed on ten or twenty years before. I think Havertz might perform in Arsenal because they have better midfielders.

Xavi has a great future for the blaugrana, and incorporating Gundogan makes sense. Signing Gundogan, one of Manchester City's best midfielders, is a terrific deal. The German will relocate to Camp Nou and form strong bonds with his new teammates. He's a quality player, and Xavi Hernandez can guarantee him that he'll have consistent playing time in the team, even if it means putting certain midfielders who are performing efficiently under time constraints. IIkay Gundogan is an experienced footballer who is one of the Premier League's most underappreciated players.

For Bayern this indicates that they have given up on targeting Rice and are looking for new options and when I saw De Jong's name I wasn't really surprised because last season the rumors were still the same.
I don't really know the condition of Barcelona's arrears to De Jong now because if you look at the previous mirror he didn't want to leave because Barcelona still has arrears on de Jong's wages that haven't been paid but now I don't see any news about this.
On the other hand, De Jong's best friend is still at Bayern, so this could also be of added value now if Barcelona's arrears end and Bayern want to leave.
But as you said, this is unlikely because it looks like De Jong is back to being comfortable with his position at Barcelona at the moment.

Bayern will not be signing Frenkie De Jong. Frenkie won't be leaving Barcelona this season. Worst of all for 50 million. He wasn't sold for 80 million, so how can they sell him for less when his value has not dropped?
The reason De Jong did not leave Barcelona last summer was not because of his wages that have not been paid. He did want to leave because he wants to remain in Barcelona. He enjoys living and playing in Barcelona.

Barcelona wanted to sell De Joong last season because they needed the money and because they wanted to try and sign Bernado Silva, but this season it's different. Barcelona has lost Busquets and in their squad right now only De Jong can play as a DM, plus De Jong was very good last season.
But you don't have to forget how the clause from Barcelona was when they tried to sell De Jong to Manchester United with the condition that De Jong's wages were owed by Manchester United at that time Cheesy This indirectly meant that they wanted to let him go without paying a penny of the arrears he had.
Now it is still possible like that when De Jong is wanted by another club he also will not be able to leave because of the arrears that Barcelona has (if any) because De Jong knows Barcelona will let go of responsibility and will give his arrears in salary to his new club.

In terms of conditions, this is not too strange because Barcelona is still having financial difficulties, but on the other hand, this is like tying players tightly where they reduce salaries and make arrears but want to try to escape responsibility.

It's true, I see that Pochettino is very serious about improving Chelsea, we can see from the steps he has taken that he is able to take every opportunity. Now Chelsea is busy bringing in several young players who are sure to be included in the club's long-term plans and then selling several players who are considered unable to contribute anything to the progress of the team. I heard the news that now Chelsea has successfully completed the signing of the young Jamaican international, namely Dujuan Richards who will soon join next season after his 18th birthday. and I can't wait to see the results of the reforms that have been carried out by Pochettino in the Premier League competition next season.

Understand if chelsea has been completing so many transfers recently but it seems like that if this club is still having a lot of jobs to get done. There are still remaining transfers that have not yet been completed by chelsea.

Here is the list of the remaining transfers:

Chalobach > Intermilan
RLC > Ac milan
Mount > MU

Even though chelsea already rejected united's bid but the bid still remains active. If chelsea can change its mind and the club will able to sell mount to the MU for around 55m.

It's still a bit far from what was asked by chelsea which was around 65m.

I hope Chelsea will expedite the remaining transfer before the end of transfer season.

Chelsea wanting more than 60 million Pounds for a mediocre player like Mount who has been very average for the last two seasons meanwhile having one year left on his contract is absurd. I really don’t know why ETG is even going in for him at all. Man Utd transfers would be going on smoothly if it wasn’t for the Glazers delaying the sale of the club.

When PSG offered Mbappe that contract, they obviously knew what salary they would pay him and considered it normal for his services. In principle, if he works for another year and then leaves (even if for free), PSG will not be in the red, as they will get what they expected and for which they signed the contract. I am sure that Mbappe is a professional and he will earn 100% of his salary, another thing is that everyone understands that there is a bargaining going on now, since Mbappe will still leave PSG this summer with a 99.99% probability.

Have a look at this . This is maximum greed at its best. I can't blame him for anything and I don't even want to because he is the best player in the world or one of them and he can dictate the conditions for a transfer, but now he wants the €150 m from PSG that he would have earned next season when he leaves club now. I am confused because I have no idea whether I comprehend what's going on, but the trick he wants to play here is that PSG would be slightly better off giving him the money and selling him this year than letting him go for free and paying him the €150 m.

Yes, I saw it. From Mbappe's side, the math is clear: he has a guaranteed 150m from PSG next year if he stays + a year later he becomes a free agent and can get a signing bonus of, say, 100m from any club. Thus, now he is ready to change his status (a player with an expiring contract) only if it will be no less profitable than 250 million (150 from PSG and 100 from Real - well, or with some kind of discount from this amount, since he saves a year). It's just logical.
Yes, from the outside it looks like greed and impudence, but from a business point of view, this is 100% correct.
