That would make a lot more sense and I think that the best thing for them would be making sure that they are doing as well as hoped for in bringing new talent. Kane has already been there and I do not think that it would be smart to get Spurs player, it would be smarter to get someone bigger and better and fresher instead. Thats mostly what premier league big clubs do.

They could sack him, though. Possibly they are still observing how he performs in the next few matches in the UCL and CDL. If Barça ejects Real Madrid from CDL of which they (Barça) already won the first leg, and they fail to advance in the UCL.

How is anyone going to explain that financially poor Barcelona won the La Liga by 12 points and also ejected Madrid from the CDL? It would completely make no sense.

Are you sure you are not confusing something here about Aubameyang? He was deliberately taken out of the selected squad for the Champions League by Potter. That is what ESPN says. They had eight new signings during the winter transfer period and they could only pick three of those newly added players to play in the Champions League. Potter decided against Aubameyang, which I think was the beginning of the end for Aubameyang anyway. If a coach doesn't trust you to contribute to the team in the Champions League, he isn't really counting on you anyway. This chapter is probably coming to a sad end for Aubameyang soon.
