Lately, I see that clubs are now tagging extranneos prizes on players especially when needed by English teams. Unlike before, when a player agrees on a personal terms with a club that is willing to buy him, his current club as no right to hold him back, but now it is a complete different thing. Enzo Fernandez has agreed on a personal term with chelsea but Benfica is still holding him back and demanding for overplus amount which I'm pretty sure that, paradventure they end up not giving out Enzo, in the next summer they will not receive even half of what chelsea offers them.
Chelsea has reportedly raised their bid for Enzo. and it is also rumored that the Benfica coach himself has resigned himself to the player's departure. after so long rumors of Chelsea's interest in Enzo, now a decision is only a matter of time. after Benfica had been very hard to retain players.
whether it's a loss or an advantage for Enzo. but it looks like Chelsea has a strong desire for a better next season than this one.
What Chelsea did is something that is quite unreasonable. I think to bring in a midfielder with a very high price, it doesn't make sense. since Todd Boehly took part in the player hunt. every player that Chelsea hunts, the price will increase very drastically.
Speaking of Enzo, the rumor mill is that Benfica are reportedly hoping Chelsea will seek to sign Enzo Fernandez again, although they have complicated the pursuit by increasing his release clause, which stands at around £105m. however Benfica is looking to raise that clause, to counteract the interest. they appear to be looking to increase Enzo Fernandez's release clause by over £25m, which would be £132m.
In this case, Chelsea must make a big decision whether it is worth paying that amount or not. it seems, Chelsea are reluctant to bring in Enzo if Benfica charges him an exorbitant price. IMO, there are plenty of options for midfielders as talented as Enzo.
