We can assume that a few nice transfers will take place after the World Cup. Gakpo has already scored on behalf of the Netherlands in both matches. I didn't think Ecuador played bad either, and their striker has already scored 3 goals in 2 matches. Name is Valencia. Yeah he is not a striker at all. Although he had played in that position but winger is his much comfortable position. I also don't think United are thinking about getting him at all. They just need striker, wingers are good with Sancho and Antony but they need someone reliable who can create pressure inside the box and tuck the ball in when there is decent enough chance. Ten Hag can rely on Martial, he still can be useful with scoring goals and creating pressure but team like United needs someone consistent and I don't think Martial can be consistent at all. Maybe he can develop and become consistent in future but right now I don't think he is consistent performer at all.

However I don't think Manchester United have added Depay to their transfer targets. There is no meaning in giving it another try considering his performance in the past. It would be like Chelsea's huge mistake about signing Lukaku back and witnessing how bad he performed again. As for a possible striker target for Manchester United, I really don't know about a candidate for now.

I have no problem with whatever strategy Erik Ten Hag will implement with Manchester United, including bringing in many players from the Eradivisie to the Manchster United squad. As long as it makes Manchester United better then he is free to do whatever. Even though it would cause a lot of displeasure when he did that. When he included Martinez in the squad, there was initially debate as to why Ten Hag had brought him in. The reason he doesn't have the ideal body for a centre-back and whatnot. But over time, Martinez showed that Erik Ten Hag was not wrong to bring him to Old Trafford. Even now he is one of the mainstays of Manchester United's defense and is considered capable of making their defense better than the center back they had before.
Once again I say if what he is doing makes the team perform better then he is free to implement any strategy.
