Uh. I respect Ranieri, but why would he do this? Especially at such a venerable age. It is difficult to count on success in Roma, rather on a large amount of criticism and hate, even if it is directed not towards the coach but the management, but being in such conditions is uncomfortable in every sense. I hope this is just a rumor.
Makes no sense, I understand as an "interim" coach that might work, but he literally gave up, he has nothing to prove, and he is retired, so what's worse that could happen, they could fire him? He won't care, so he doesn't have any incentives to win at all, he just doesn't care.
This is why I suggested Ruud Van Nistelrooy, he showed himself at United for a few games only, but he has been a manager for a while now, and he has what it takes to turn Roma back around as well. I am not saying he will be great, but just give him a chance for the rest of this season, if they hire him for just this season, then he could do fine. Then the problem is will he accept an offer that is only for this season, most coaches would want to accept something much longer, and he may not accept such an offer that ends in June this season, but he will probably take it if he has nothing else to do.
It has to be a good decent chunk of money though, otherwise it would not make sense to accept. Roma needs to stop looking at old Italian coaches and hope for the best, that's not working and they tried it already and didn2t pan out. We are seeing not great results from them at the moment, things aren't really looking bright at all for them, not at all.
