Well actually to be fair, Barcelona is in dire situation right now and most of the players' wages were lowered to some point. The fact that De Jong doesnt want to move to Manchester United is just a complete different matter onto why they lowered those wages. Aside from that, most of their players are still pretty loyal especially after all these financial saga though
If Barcelona are really certain that they want him gone like yesterday, let them first settle their arrears and De Jong will not have a reason to stay otherwise I don't see this lad leaving this club for United.

I heard rumors that De Jong or Aubameyang prefers to stay because Barcelona still has debt on them. Barcelona still cannot give all their total salaries during they worked as Barcelona players. They may easily leave once they get all their salaries. So, it depends on Barcelona now, whether they want to pay all the salaries or not.
