Liverpool is the only Premier League club yet to make a signing in this summer transfer window. Manager Arne Slot has not brought in any new players since taking over from Jurgen Klopp, and he was dealt a blow when Real Sociedad midfielder Martin Zubimendi rejected a move to Anfield. With less than two weeks left until the end of the transfer window, Liverpool does not have much time left to make any deals.

I think the main target for The Kop should be to strengthen three positions, including a centec-back, a defensive midfielder, and a winger. However, this is not an easy task for the Anfield team. It feels like, instead of buying new players, Liverpool's immediate goal is to help Slot adapt as quickly as possible and take advantage of the foundation left by Klopp. I think Slot is happy with the Liverpool squad because the team has a lot of quality players at the moment.
Jurgen Kloop left a very good squad that competed for the title last season even though the failed at the end, but that same squad can go again this season and if the new manager Arne Slot managed them well, they will not be left out in the top four spot at the end of the season because we have seen the manager's performance during the per-season games and in his first Premier League match, he intended to bring his new patter, but when he sees that he will be left behind, he decided to continue with the pattern Kloop left and he is now doing good job because the team also seems to have no enough money to bring in new players, they can do it like this so that by January, the new manager would have noticed all the changes he needs, so that the team can sign more players to replace them.

İlkay Gündoğan deal has become official according to Fabrizio Romano.  Wink

https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1826186178527175122

He is back at Manchester City. Guardiola was already looking forward to his return. However the contract is only one-season long. Maybe after that he might look for new adventures or even retirement. He is joining on a free transfer and probably won't cost too much in salary either. I'm happy to see him back in the PL. He had a really good chemistry at Manchester City.

The only thing I wonder is whether we will see him in the starting lineup right away? Probably as a CM?  Huh
It's very good deal for Manchester City because he can gets Gundogan back to their team and surprisingly Manchester City gets him for free because just like people know Barcelona has been decide to terminate Gundogan contract and he is free to leave and as far i know Gundogan is part of Manchester City or Guardiola era he even became an important player for this team in the last several years

In Manchester City usually Gundogan was played as CM because he have good balance to attack and defense and Gundogan also can control the game with very well but the situation about him maybe a bit different now because Manchester City has Rodri and for midfield position i am sure Gundogan will compete with Rodri to gets one place on starting lineup however at least Gundogan can earn respect from Manchester City which he did not get at Barcelona because Barcelona owner wanted to get rid of him
Gündoğan had been successful with Man City in the past and was sold to Barca because Pep Guardiola felt there were other important players who were more worthy to be maintained so that İLKAY Gündoğan had to accept management decisions.
Now Man City has brought again ̇lkay Gündoğan not as a starting line up player but it is likely to be a reserve player because this season Man City is again a favorite in the Champions League.
For the 1 season contract, it seems that Man City only wants to see if İLKAY Gündoğan is still the same as before and if he is still very productive will be maintained but if he remembers his age is a little old, possibly after with Man City he will go to SPL.

Barcelona have just signed Dani Olmo, plus the presence of Pedri and Fermin Lopez, the midfield position at Barcelona is quite crowded. Therefore, Barcelona is not interested in keeping Gundogan because this player is 33 years old and has a high salary. Notably, Gundogan was left out of the squad for the opening La Liga match against Valencia. Gundogan has "had enough" of the atmosphere at Barcelona. Finally, Gundogan got his wish. This is unexpected news. Because, during the whole summer, Man City did not mention this deal. The news that Gundogan rebelled and wanted to leave only appeared in the past few days. With Gundogan, if he doesn't return to Man City, where can he go? With him, the Etihad team will be even stronger and more fearsome.

Gundogan has played in a variety of positions at Man City in the past, including as a striker, and he could still fill the void left by Alvarez. By re-signing Gundogan, Pep doesn't have to worry about "re-teaching" this contract. And I think Gundogan can also be a back-up for Rodri when needed. When Man City needs to control the game, the German midfielder can be brought on for the last 20 or 30 minutes. Already no longer young, Gundogan also knows this.

Finally, the king returns to rule. I can't wait to see him play in Manchester City again. The contract is only one season long. But, there is an option to extend it for another year. It means Gundogan will be more than a year playing for Manchester City. He was joining Barcelona for free, then leaving from there for free. Though he already meets a requirement to extend his contract in Barcelona. But, due to his wages, and he is not getting enough game time. So, he wants to leave.

Pep knew him so well, and Gundogan is going to be a starting lineup. Gundogan is going to play as Centre Midfielder, but he can also move to play as Defensive Midfielder too. I think that Pep will pair him with Savio. It seems we will see a duet between Savio (Mahrez's regen) and Gundogan.

Gündoğan is a maestro, but Xavi's got Barcelona playing like a bunch of headless chickens. Financial chaos, tactical confusion - it's no wonder Gündoğan's struggling. He's a Guardiola player, through and through. Designed for him was that City system. Every pass and every movement was poetry in action. At Barcelona? It's disjointed and annoying. And the locker room atmosphere cannot be very good

City is now playing it cool on the transfer scene. There are no overpaying or panicked purchases. Gündoğan understands that they are waiting. Next summer he's a free agent, a plug-and-play Guardiola midfielder. Why wouldn't they want him back? For Gündoğan, it is a gamble. Stick it out at Barcelona; hope things turn around. Or go back to the familiar, to the system that made him a star?

City is in the upper hand here. They know his value, they know he fits. And patience is a weapon in this wild economy. If Gündoğan returns in sky blue following season, not be shocked. It just makes too much sense
I had a lot of questions when Gundogan decided to move to Barcelona, it was difficult to understand what could have prompted him to leave such a big team as City. Now he is coming back and in this case I have no questions, everything is very clear here, City is much stronger and perhaps the reason is also that Gundogan is more comfortable working with Guardiola. For Barcelona this is bad, because he is leaving the team as a free agent, which means that Barcelona in a bad financial situation is simply losing money, and for City this is very good because they get a very important player back, without any additional expenses on transfers.

2024 is a pretty sad year where quite a few players have retired from club level to national team. After Toni Kross, Thomas Muller, and Ilkay Gundogan, now it's Manuel Neuer's turn to announce his retirement from the German national team. Little by little the golden generation of the German national team is starting to erode because they are no longer young and we will no longer be able to see them wearing the same uniform.

Manuel Neuer, who we know started his brilliant career since the 2000s when he was a Schalke player, is already 37 years old and since being recruited by Bayern Munich 13 years ago, the goalkeeper position for the national team has always been his after successfully replacing veteran goalkeeper Oliver Kahn. Now Manuel Neuer is only focused on Bayern Munich until his contract ends next year.

There are reports of Gundogan returning to Manchester city as he’s wanted by Pep Guardiola. Who would've thought Gundogan would be leaving Barcelona to return to Manchester City after how many seasons.

I don’t know how I feel about his return, but they have used him before and Pep knows exactly what he offers. Exactly same set of players he left in the dressing room last season. For pep, it's plug and play. He understands what the manager wants from him and he doesn't have to take time to fit in and blend in. I think it’s a win win for all parties. Gundogan back in City's midfield strengthens them big time.
IIkay Gündoğan is an important instrument when he was under Pep Guardiola management. He explored and turn out to become one of the very developing players that made crucial contributions to the team's performance and stats. Currently in Barcelona, he failed completely to build good chemistry with Barcelona, this is absolutely not a good choice for the German international. Rumours about Gündoğan keen on returning back to Manchester City, this is plain good news for the club but triggering this bid to come into action would be little challenging on the ends of the Citizens.

Finally, Chelsea has reached a deal with ATM  on the signing of Joao Felix on a six years contract with a 12 months optional addition. I think this is no bad signing, at this time Chelsea really need a striker with a goal scoring capacity. I am suspecting that there loss to Manchester City yesterday must have fast tracked this deal. But the question now is that, does this cancels Chelsea's further interest on Victor Osimhen of Napoli whose future has been that of contention between Chelsea and PSG.
Another bad signing by Chelsea, Joao Felix proves nothing when he was play for Chelsea and Barcelona, which make his market value drop, Chelsea want to sign him. Signing a player just because the price cheaper than before is wrong. I expect Felix will become nobody in Chelsea and Chelsea will try to sell him since they have too many players.

If Chelsea choose to not sign Osimhen, they should give Lukaku a chance.
.
Joao Felix isn't a terrible player and he could do well enough for them, they have seen what he can do and they decided to get him. He was at Barcelona last season and he did alright during the time he played, which means that Chelsea knows what they are getting with him.

Plus, paying just 40 million euro for him isn't really a lot, Chelsea is a rich club and 40 million is nothing to them, so this is going to be great. And if they worry about financial fair play, they did a six year contract, which means it's like 6.5 million a year or so hit on the cap, and they should not be really worrying about that part too much.
Joao Felix isn't really a terrible buy per say but what I understand about people's dismay about his transfer fee to Chelsea is due to his poor performance while he was  on loan in Chelsea before later going to play for Barcelona. Even in the just concluded Euros there was no much of an improvement either. However, coming back to Chelsea he now has the opportunity to work on his lapses improve his standard and be more creative than the last time he was there.

The swap deal between Chelsea and Atletico Madrid with their players Joao Felix and Conor Gallagher seems to be getting closer to a bright spot both clubs seem to agree with this statement which is clear Joao Felix has wanted to leave Atletico Madrid for a long time because he has had a disagreement with the club's coach and he seems uncomfortable there as well as Conor Gallagher feels happy to be at Atletico Madrid and it is currently known that Gallagher is already in Spain to carry out their agreement.

Joao Felix is now one of the young players who really has great potential in the future, he was developed by Atletico Madrid and also played with Chelsea who even played with Barcelona last season.
With more development and experience, Joao Felix can become one of the main players for Chelsea in the future, this is good news for Premier League fans because Chelsea might be able to play better.
Conor Gallagher himself by joining Atletico Madrid can also improve his career because Atletico Madrid has the support that is really capable of bringing Conor Gallagher to reach the peak of his career as greater player.
This exchange is really very beneficial for both parties in the future.

Manuel Ugarte was recently very close and linked to Manchester United and they wanted to hire this player from PSG but everything they couldn't do that and Manuel Ugarte didn't Manchester United yet.
Even Manuel Ugarte himself wants to leave PSG and prefers to play in the other teams also Enrique didn't use this player because of that but PSG wants to get 70 million euros for this 23-year-old player which is a huge amount of money for Manchester United.
Now it seems Manchester United wants to try another way and take Manuel Ugarte for a loan.

Signing Manuel Ugarte is going to help Manchester United and for me, that will be their best signing of the season because the defensive midfield is what Manchester United needs, Manchester united has casemiro and Amrabat who can play the position but those players are too old to hold that position, even their performance throughout last season was somehow poor, signing Ugarte is going to improve the squad, if we look at Manchester United games we will know that is the position they supposed to fight for now, secondly Manchester united also need a goalkeeper because for me Onana is not ready this season.

I know this is what Chelsea wanted when the deal of Samu Omorodion collapsed, Chelsea wanted Joao Felix from the beginning but they wanted to know how important Gallagher was for Atletico Madrid, Chelsea collapsed the deal to get the attention of Atletico Madrid so Atletico Madrid will not ask for a huge amount for Felix, I love the energy that Chelsea did to make the deal happen but signing Felix is going to make some player's leave the club because if we look at Chelsea squad the squad is full of player's and not all of them will have a chance to play the way they want, I have seen that action of selling some old players out from Chelsea, the match against Chelsea and Manchester City Chelsea did not include some player's in the squad and that shows they want the player to leave.

Man United submitted a borrowing offer and in the classus the release was entered permanently if I was not wrong. The price offered is still too high so Man United tries to take another approach for him. Manuel Ugarte was not included in Luis Enrique's plan, that's why he prefers to go to another club and Now he is getting closer to joining Man United. If you pay attention to age, Manuel Ugarte still has the potential to become a great player because he is still quite young and still has a fairly long time.

Man United is trying to find some of the players they need and I think this season they are far more optimal in the recruitment of players because they are not in a hurry by choosing players. In the previous season they did not consider and so carelessly decided to buy players even though the price was so high.

I don’t know how I feel about his return, but they have used him before and Pep knows exactly what he offers. Exactly same set of players he left in the dressing room last season. I will say it is a good thing for Ikay Gundogan to still have the opportunity to come back to Manchester City after he spent one year away at Barcelona. Not all players have the opportunity to play for Pep Guardiola team twice in their career. Gundogan is still playing very well despite his age and he is going to fit in very well for Manchester City. He is not going to be treated as a new comer in the squad, the fans loves him and he did good with Manchester City before he left. One thing I'm just finding confusing right now is that is, will Ikay Gundogan be given back the captain arm band if his move to Manchester City materialize. He left Manchester City a year ago as their captain and now that he is coming back will pep Guardiola still reinstate him as the captain of the team or things will just be the way they are right now?
I don't think so, even I think Ilkay Gundogan will not get many more playing minutes at Manchester City because his quality has declined due to his age and I also still wonder what Pep did to accept Ikay Gundogan's arrival again is the right decision, Ikay Gundogan is not young anymore and Man City should recruit young players for sustainable regeneration for the future, so I think this is not a wise decision.

The way Barca have been moving over the last 2-3 seasons in the transfer market, some things are not beyond the realm of possibility for them.
I think Barcelona's problems is (are) well documented, it’s a club in all sorts of disorder, I bet they are even saying less to the public.

It might be that there have been on going issues between him and the club; style of play, Hansi flick freezing him out of the squad or something relating to wages.

Gundogan is returning to a known turf and Pep has a use for him. He was instrumental to their success and he with Manchester City’s reluctancy in bringing in new signings, I think he’ll be a good addition for them especially as he’s coming as a free agent.

I already posted about this news and Gundogan leaving Barcelona. Gundogan wants to play in the items where he can have more chances to achieve the title. He thinks about the Champions League too because that's something he got in Manchester City and when he left this team to Barcelona he was expecting to have the same good performance in this team. Still, Flick was not enough to make Gundogan happy and it seems the chance for Gundogan to leave is much higher.

Anything wrong with more updates on this? That is not true, he's had Barcelona pushing him away ever since he had issues with Araujo during the last Champions League game they played against Paris Saint Germany with Araujo committing a huge blunder. And also, Barcelona has got financial issues and has found it difficult registering nee players, they cannot get shiit doje until they sell or let players leave. How can you even blame Hansi Flick for not making IIkay Gundogan happy? All these happened last season with Xavi Hernandez in charge.

Manual Ugarte is the missing ingredient for Manchester United midfied right now. Yes they have Casemiro but, they need a much younger midfielder. Manchester United cannot rely hundred percent on Casemiro after the declining signs he displayed last season. Having him around would boost the midfied.

He was the player with most tackles in the 22/23 Primeira  Liga in Portugal.

He was also the player with the most tackles in the 23/24 League 1 French League. I can't wait to see him tear down the Premier League down completely.

Well it's already happening, I believe that the transfer of Conor Gallagher to Atletico madrid will be concluded today, 21 august 2024 because the Joao Felix deal was formally conclude yesterday, so what is keeping Conor Gallagher deal uncompleted right now is just papper works, which i strongly believe that it's no longer a barrier in the completion of the deal, so hopefully it would be concluded today,
And lastly, I have really been impressed by the dealings of atletico madrid this summer transfer window, because they have practically spot all what they need and they went for them all, which to me, it was a total success.

Then talking about Conor Gallagher, I think that it's actually a very good move in this stage of his short career so far, and atletico madrid playing pattern will definitely suit him, since he is that aggressive type of player, so I believe that if he can stay fit, he is actually going to be a fascinating signing for this atletico madrid side.
