Arsenal's main goalkeeper Bernd Leno is expected to leave in January. He is still 29 years old now and he can be counted as young for a goalkeeper. Actually, he is not a bad goalkeeper but it is true that he made simple mistakes from time to time. But I don't know if it is the right choice for Arsenal as they won't have any substitute goalkeeper when Leno leaves. They will have only Ramsdale. And if he gets injured or a punishment, they will have really problematic days. In case Leno leaves, they must sign a goalkeeper to fill his place immediately.
I really do not know why Leno is making the most of his present situation, yes every player wants to play every single game, but it does not mean if that's not forthcoming, you just throw in the towel and leave the club, Leno has been Arsenals number one goalkeeper for sometime now, and even at the beginning of this season, he was their first choice, so he has only been benched for just a couple of matches, so I don't really see the reason for the fuss and trying to leave the club.
I really don't know which club he intends to go to, but honestly I think he should stay at the Emirates and fight to regain his number one position. Having said that, if Leno leaves, Ramsdale wouldn't be their only goalie, they'll definitely go into the market and purchase a back up goalkeeper, or promote one of their academy keepers.
I also as an Arsenal supporter don't want to see Bernd Leno leave Arsenal, I see Leno's performance is not so bad. Even though he made several
mistakes, it was very natural, because at that time Leno had no competitors. Now that Ramsdale's presence will allow fair competition to occur,
so Leno should be able to stay at Arsenal and fight for the main goalkeeper position at Arsenal. Leno began to be replaced because Arsenal lost
heavily against Man City in the Premier League a few weeks ago. Ramsdale was then given a chance by Arteta, and surprisingly Ramsdale played
very well, in the next four Premier League games managed three clean sheets. But surely Ramsdale will not play consistently or even get injured,
so if Arsenal still have Leno they don't need to worry because they have a goalkeeper coating that has good quality. I think Arsenal should try to keep
Leno on, rather than looking for another goalkeeper to back up Ramsdale. If Leno moves, I predict Leno will return to play in the Bundesliga again.
