Messi’s going nowhere, we’ve seen this before with him. I’ll be shocked if he leaves Barca this summer.

What makes you so sure? People said exactly the same about Christiano Ronaldo. That he won't leave Real and is only pressuring them into giving him a better contract. We all know how it ended.

And the situation in Barcelona this year is different. Barca not only didn't won a title last season, they got kicked out of the UCL in a historical embarrassment. The team is full of relatively old players or players that didn't meet the expectations the club had for them. The process of a complete restructuring of the team has started. Both on the bench and in the decision-making positions there have been changes already. And with Bartomeu exactly that person stayed with whom Messi already had his problems with in the past.

All these points make Barca unpredictable and not really the first contender for any title next season. Rebuilding the team and club takes time and having success again (the way Barca is used to have) might also take time. What if Messi don't wanna take this time? He's 33 years now. I could understand that he sees better chances for the Champions League title in the coming years when playing for Man City or PSG.

Messi’s going nowhere, we’ve seen this before with him. I’ll be shocked if he leaves Barca this summer.

There is a lot of contradicting reports out there all surrounding Messi no being able to attend Barca's training. Some news say that his was part of his plan leaving this summer some news say that Messi already signed a contract on his intent on leaving Barca but most of these news are not official yet and even the staffs in Barca are not giving any additional information about it. There is a chance that Messi will still be in Barca next seasom but without any official news and Messi denying it publicly I see that the current news spreading has traction in it.
Currently too much chaos about messi around in media and his father is likely to meet Barcelona President so I am also feeling its very unlikey he is going to leave Barcelona and why all happening its really strange because today they fined him for not attending covid-19 test and practice Ronaldo is also feeling he is not going to leave Barcelona. https://sputniknews.com/sport/202008251080273739-ronaldo-deems-messi-leaving-fc-barcelona-very-unlikely/

Rakitic will leave Barca for Sevilla....

I am glad he is back in Sevilla. He met his wife there and I am sure they will be more than happy with life in the city. I just hope he still has few outstanding seasons in his legs. He should have more than enough incentive to do well in the club and city that lunched his career. I am looking forward to seeing him enjoy football once more. In Barca he was relegated to sweep behind Messi and cover all those gaping holes in defense, here he should have a more attacking role with less defensive duties.

Chelsea are really spending some money in this transfer window aren’t they. It looks like Abramovich really wants to have a proper shot at winning the big trophies again. They definitely look like they might be a force this season.
Indeed but I believe it'll take them [all these new players] a year to click perfectly with each other.

Even at 33, he's no ordinary player just Like CR7 when he was moving to Juventus.
Based on medical records taken at Juve, Ronaldo had [and still has] a body of a 22 year old. Not sure the same can be said about Messi's body [regardless of his quality].

According to several media, Juventus have an agreement with AOUAR!
I'm reading a lot of mixed rumors in regards to this. Arsenal is interested as well and looks like "he likes to play in EPL".

Suarez has been proposed to Juventus and now they are thinking about it, he will a free agent but with high salary. Let's see what will happen.
Tier 1 source.
It'll be an interesting replacement for Higuaín.

According to a reliable source, Arsenal has indeed signed Gabriel:
- My concern is, how on earth Chelsea signed/announced Thiago's signing without a quarantine of some sort?
- He came from France (a 2 week mandatory quarantine should've been in place).

It isn’t dragging on Scott - Gabriel has signed, is in quarantine and it’s just a matter of Arsenal announcing it. So nothing to be worried about 👍

Looks like Arsenal is going to finally reveal Gabriel Wink

I really liked van de Beek in Ajax's run to the CL semis last year. He really is an interesting player but I feel that he won't really fit in that United midfield.
I wonder how they plan to put Pogba, Fernandes and van de Beek together - Pogba and van de Beek behind Fernandes? Doesn't really breathe defensive stability, they all prefer the same zones and neither is a tempo dictator.

Maybe they will find a way for it to work but it's not a player I'd target for Man Utd.

Pretty sure they will be rotated.  United is finally back at the UCL and they'll need Van de Beek's CL experience.  And for the price they got him for, it's a fair deal, I guess.  But only his performance, what he puts on the table will really be the judge.

I hope to see good things from him at the EPL.

Anyway...  Any Messi updates?  Cheesy  It's the same stuff over and over again.

Source?

But yeah..  what a pity.  It would've been great to see him play at the EPL.

So does that mean Barca will be paying Messi wages just for him go keep the bench warm?  Grin  It's not a good look for the club imho.  I mean Bale is another thing...  But Messi??

Why Man. City should force themselves to sign Messi? If the price looks crazy, I think it is better to evaluate the plan and consider other players. Yes, Messi has been 33 year-olds, it isn't the golden age for a football player. Actually, Man. City already have many wingers, why they should buy Messi? They are better to focus on buying a center forward striker, I see only Aguero is at the position. Why not consider buying Mbappee, H. Kane, Dybala, or Haaland.  Wink

Because they could afford him? Aside from that, Both Messi and Ronaldo are superstars in Football therefore any team that sign them will be getting alot more from all those official merchandise , shirts etc. That also means alot of Messi's fans will start to watch Manchester City, getting more impression for the team each time they play

I mean who wouldnt want to watch Messi play on Premier League? Even if you support another team on Premier League, you will still want to watch Manchester City . I definitely want to eventhough I am supporting Manchester United  Tongue

Report: Messi clause invalid, free transfer possible - €250m signing-on fee?
...
Messi is said to have already chosen the City Football Group as his next destination. As Barcelona-based newspaper Sport reports, a highly remunerated five-year contract beckons him in the event of a free transfer. Messi would play the first three years with Manchester City and then move on to MLS club New York City FC in 2023.

$250 million for the signing and a salary of $100 million per year for a 33 year old Messi. Offered by ManCity, a club that almost got convicted for breaking the rules of financial fair play ... This must be some kind of satire  Grin

And Messi refuses to go attend the Barca medical tests and trainings. What sweet irony after Dembele and Griezmann did exactly the same to force their transfers to Barca.

Another loss for Ajax,,, they should still have enough quality to win their league but they really need to get more Champions League glory to keep their stars, or find a way to make the league more competitive so that players feel they are playing in a tough league. Netherlands does better on international stage now but it will be many more years to get to a stage where people WANT to go to Ajax and not leave it.

They still have Neres, Tadlic and still Tagliafico. I am wondering how newcomer Antony will do. Ajax have great pre season matches so I am excited what this season will bring.

Shick from Roma to Bayer.

He was a young talente player but he lost himself, maybe he will find a coach for him there.
