I think the government will not interfere about of transferring players, even though it is a source of state/city government revenue, because of the player's tax payments. players have the exclusive right to determine their future at a club. The clause to end his career in Barcelona next season is a decision by the player, the Spanish government and the Spanish football organization also have no right to prohibit Messi from deciding this.

according to his interview with catalan radio a year ago, he said that he considered leaving Barcelona after the tax problem.
it's like he wants to leave spain, but not Barcelona (at that moment).
he was the first top player to be targeted by spanish tax authorities.

spanish tax authorities might not explicitly interfere the current situation between Barcelona and messi.
but they can implicitly do something like being "soft" to messi with his tax  Grin.

hmph..
maybe spain will help Barcelona to make messi stay.  Grin
they don't want to lose their income from messi's tax, after they lost it from ronaldo.

Yes,  we know that the two of them are rivals but they also respect each other.
Juve don't have problem with financial fair play and can afford Messi.
After all,  his marketing value is great and with him Juve is one step closer to their ultimate goal,  to finally win in CL.
Still,  in my opinion,  Manchester City is first choice for Messi.

It would be lovely to see these two football superstars playing from same side. Juventus would be a great team for messi to play and they can afford him too. PSG is certainly another great option. I think Manchester City is going to be a bad choice for messi if he went there, he might not be able to hold on to his fame and the spotlight he gets on La liga. And Manchester city is not still a balanced team.

I agree with you.
Still, it seems Barcelona don’t want to let Messi go and maybe a very ugly lawsuit awaits us first.
Manchester City is probably Messi’s first choice because of his emotional connection to the former coach.
Still, I think it would be a lot easier for him to play in the French or Italian league.

Said it yesterday that I'm okay with any outcome as long as Messi's happy, and him staying at his beloved club is what I'd prefer as a neutral who loves and respects him as well but I wonder now, as with any marriage that is clearly not working out anymore, if divorce is the eventual option? Couldn't have thought it even a year ago but here we are. Man, what this club has come to. A warning to all clubs out there not to meddle politically.

Yeah have the same opinion as well. Messi is a world class player and I as a fan don't want him to retire with his remaining years being unhappy and getting ignored with his opinions inside a club. Just let him go if you (*Barcelona*) don't want to get things done according to him.

Anyway it's gonna take long to end the chapter of Messi and there is still time with the transfer window so anything can happen.

I watched Barca for as long as I can remember so of course, it's very close to my heart for me. I can still remember Ronaldinho coaching Messi. I can still remember that flowy hair all around him and the magical teams and all those incredible moments. And even I can still remember freshly how it was with Neymar and Suarez and Messi when they conquered the world.

Feeling sad with everything now but may it end happily for him.

Aguero removes "10" from his Instagram page.
from @KunAguero10 to @KunAguero.
is this the same thing as Juan Cuadrado who gave Ronaldo his number 7? lol

Messi & Ronaldo (5 years ago) in the same team would be a sight to behold. The massive wages & due to their ages low sell on fees mean it probably isn’t a good financial decision for Juve.

well, Ronaldo scored 37 goals this year, is like 30 or more years than one player scored so much with Juventus.
I think he is in the 3rd spot in the all-time top scorer for Juventus.

Besides that In these 2 years, everything is changed, the only 3 over 30yo players are CR7 Bonucci and Cuadrado, the rest are young players or bench players.

From yesterday

↑ Stay at Barca
↑ City

↓ Inter
↓ Juve

Can't really imagine that he changes his mind and stays at Barca now. Unless, of course, Barca keeps demanding an absurd transfer fee that no one is willing to pay and so forces him to stay. But that would really be a shitty move by Barca for a player who played for them for the last 20 years and has won everything there is to win.

I just read that Di Maria and Neymar are trying to convince him of PSG. ManCity and PSG are probably the best candidates right now. Don't think he will join Ronaldo at Juventus or that he goes to Inter.

No matter the age, it would be really great to see them play together.

Since I'm a Liverpool fan I really don't want him signing for City, but from a neutral fan's perspective I think he'd produce much better football in combination with De Bruyne than with Ronaldo. That link-up with Aguero in front of them would be pure joy to watch.

Most chances Messi is not going any where he is going to stay here for some more time because its best place for him even too many rumours about him and Barcelona but if will leave then most chances he is going to be in Italy as its best place for him his style of play is also suited there not here in EPL.

It will not happen but if it will happen it will an historical thing

I don't think juve is really interested in Messi! it looks more like clickbait news

I am also 100% sure the news is only clickbait, because the Juventus coach Pirlo is reducing the number of players who have
big salary. So it is impossible for Juventus to bring in Messi who would want a big salary. Now, the news of Messi is about to
leave Barcelona become booming everywhere, but I believe Messi will stay at Barcelona.

Juventus can't take Messi to their team because Messi has to pay a very high salary.i would be very happy to see Messi in Manchester city . we all know that Man  city is a very stable team  and they had the best scorer team in last season . if Messi will joined Manchester city i hope man city will the future EPL champion . i hope they can beat Liverpool and become the champion .  and i believe  Messi will play much better if he is in Guardiola shade. Pep Guardiola is one of the best coach in history .  If Messi plays in his charge then i hope he will achieve the next ballon d or and man city will the next  UCL champion . so i don't think that it is not impossible for Messi  to play in Manchester City . I think Messi will more interested to play in man city .

Here I would like to put a quote by Messi in 2014 - I would like to play with Cristiano Ronaldo one day.

I wish i could see these 2 legends in a same frame. I could only imagine since it quite impossible to make happens in real. You're right though, it's just a fantasy Juventus could never afford the price of them both and their salaries. Overall Man City will be a suitable place for MESSI.

Maybe the same with me. Ronaldo + Messi in Juventus, like the impossible. If that really happens, then Juventus front line will be even stronger. But we all know, news only differs, it only provokes people to read it. Even though there is very little chance that it will happen, because we know that the two of them are rivals.

Robin Koch is going to leave sc freiburg and join leeds united - deal is already done

Quote
Robin Koch joins Leeds United - Defender has already informed teammates
https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/robin-koch-joins-leeds-united-defender-has-already-informed-teammates/view/news/369311

Pretty fair deal for the SC, considering that he only had one year left on his contract. Schwolow, Waldschmidt and now Koch. Freiburg has lost some of their key players. But with the money they got for them, I am sure they will make some smart transfers and give young players a chance to prove themselves in the Bundesliga. Streich is the perfect coach for that and Freiburg has shown many times before that you can be successful in the Bundesliga even with a smaller budget.

And for Leeds ... I am so glad that they are back in the BPL. I hope Koch can help them to establish themselves in the Premier League again.

Altogether, with Chelseas shopping spree, Messi potentially moving to ManCity and Liverpools last season performance, I can't wait for the BPL to start again! Even when fans can't be back in the stadiums at the start, that's gonna be one hell of a season.
