Newcastle have signed Joelinton for a club-record £40m from Hoffenheim on a six-year deal.
Joelinton's arrival at St James' Park sees Newcastle break their transfer record for the second time in seven months, with the fee for the 22-year-old striker surpassing the £21m the club paid for Miguel Almiron in January.

I have never heard of the Player before now, £40m from Newcastle seem quite a fee, IMO.

Well, Real Betis just signed Nabil Fekir, a player that was linked to several top clubs, for €25M, so yeah £40M for Joelinton does sound like a lot. After seeing that fee you'd think that the guy at least finished among the top 5 top scorers of the Bundesliga last season, but nope, not even in the top10.

Joeliton is a very good player. I watched him in a couple of games. He is very young and already a complete striker. Only reason he is not in top 10 in Bundesliga is because Hoffenheim played very attacking football with lot of rotation between their options up front. He and Kramaric had excellent seasons with a couple of other players also scoring a respectable number of goals.

That price for Fekir is an absolute steal. I really don't understand why Lyon let him go for so little money. Maybe they know something we don't. Ie. he had a serious injury to his knee and maybe it didn't heal properly. We shall see.

Sergei is a good player in the right condition and if he will go back on his 2 years ago condition he will be loved for his skill.
Yeah, he's a good player. At least the rumours are saying 75M and not the +€100M that the Lazio owner wanted.

Just found this awesome chart while browsing Marca:

Total € spent in this transfer window and total signings made so far + top 5 most expensive signings in the most important leagues + total spent in those leagues:

Seems like they're starting to look for Pogba's replacement. News from Spain say that they're interested in Milinkovic-savic[1]. Honestly, from Pogba to Savic would be a massive downgrade

Milinkovic-savic is not a bad player yes he is a downgrade but is not a trash player, this year got a meh year but he was still in the same team against his will (he wanted to leave last year) so he probably doesn't players with the 100% every match with the maximum focus.

The rule is quite simple when a player wants to leave you to need to sell him or it will be a mess, first of all, economical since the player will not play at his best and his valuation will go down.

Sergei is a good player in the right condition and if he will go back on his 2 years ago condition he will be loved for his skill.

Gareth Bale is a transfer target of Beijing according to some reports. Clubs from China are well known for offering big wages so I dont think there would be any problems in the money department. But I still feel he has more to offer in Europe and accepting a move to China would be too soon in his career.

If he goes to China then expect Real to go after Pogba (YES!!!).  But if I was Bale, I'd give Zidane a huge headache by not leaving and keep the bench warm from three years while receiving top wages.  Grin  Zidane's been disrespecting him imo.

That's not an option for a top class player like Bale.
Their goal is to find a team that would allow him to play and be a member of the first team and not just being on the bench and get paid. Just not that football players are not getting only wages but they have a significant income from sponsorships. And if you are not playing regularly you don't get any sponsorship.

I doubt Bale actually cares much about his playing time for now, If he does then he'd want out of Real Madrid too ASAP, but that's not the case with him, he's literally calm about the whole saga.

He's Agent just said in an Interview that "Bale will not leave on loan, and would only be on the move if a suitable offer presents itself".
All actions of the player and managers show what they want to get the result.  Who hunts for good offers and get big money, and who is worried about his career and his credibility.

I’ve never heard of him to be honest. Newcastle are going to need to pray for divine intervention this season after losing Rafa Benitez & replacing him with Steve fucking Bruce.

Also, news of the day in Spain. Xavi Simons, a 16yo player from La Masia (Barcelona's youth academy) announced on his twitter that he won't renew his contract with Barca. Funny part is that he signed with no other than PSG today[2].

In case you don't know him, the kid isn't a gem and he wasn't the best young talent in Barcelona, just your typical social media player with tons of followers on instagram and some YT videos showing skills. He spent 9 years in La Masia and never made it to the news until today. Barca right now: "don't let the door hit you on your way out"  Roll Eyes

Do you football guys consider Ronaldo or Messi to be the greatest of all time?  I think messi tends to get overrated because people love that he is a short guy underdog while Ronaldo is a physical beast.
Ronaldo is a hard worker, even at the age of 34 he is thinking of ways to improve physically. Messi has more talent, the ball gets stuck to his feet. The way he understands the movements of the opposition is unbelievable.

If you are looking at overall work rate and training - Ronaldo is the winner.
In terms of share talent and vision - Messi is better.

I think Messi is the 2nd greatest player of all time and Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest.  Legends like Pele and Maradona get overrated and they would never be able to compete at the level of athletes today with how physically fit they are.
The two players are good and wonderful in the field of play but I don't see Ronaldo are the greatest player as you said. However, the two players speak through football in varieties way and if we are talking about the greatest player such player must be someone who can shape a match into something else (alone) which Messi had such capacity.
Speaking of the legend footballers you mentioned above, I don't see any reason why they are overrated because they are the one the led the path for Messi, Ronaldo etc, by creating dribbling strategy which was modernized by Messi and the rest today.

Any news about Neymar transfer deal?

There's money in China but you'll just be lost from the media buzz and soon people would forget you. Similar is USA or middle east.
There's no use of staying in Real as Zidane doesn't want Bale to be there. There have been suggestions that Liverpool should buy Bale, this would be the best option for him and Liverpool too would become stronger.

I agree that Liverpool is the best option for him as he will be in a European club that challenges all competitions.
Staying on the bench in Real is the worst option.. And also, I don't think that he will be lost from the media if he joins a Chinese club. I still read a lot of things about the performance of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and he is the first headlines in news even the fact that he is in an MLS club.

They still need to seel more players, Even if they sell Bale for 100M they will go at -88.

Now if you add 150M for Pogba to it they will go to -238M €.

They need to sell more 3/4 big players to be even for the financial fair play

A small rumor about Juve-Pogba, during the deal for the DeLigt, Raiola talked with Juventus for another Pogback, The players seem to agree with it and Juventus will try to take him, the problem is to talk with the ManU.

I remember to you all that the contract with Pogba-ManU will expire in 23 months and after that, he can go for free.

Does ManU want really keep him against his will and lose 100+ million in less than 2 years?

Nabil Fekir has joined Betis from Lyon. Several sources report that it is done and transfermarkt has already added him to the Betis team.
I am surprised that Lyon let him go for a fee of just over $20 million. He is valued at almost $70 million on transfermarkt. A really good acquisition by Betis.

these two players are great players I like both and on some points I really like Cristiano Ronaldo because he is a typical person who trains massively for his abilities but that does not reduce my respect for Messi he is also a very agile player.

For agility you or we could say that is probably the best fitted player today for his age. He play like he has 25 years not 34, also his stamina is awesome. Both play on top of the game but some new kids will take those places eventually.
sometimes I think who will be the replacement for Ronaldo & messi when they both retire, I think there will be 2 players made by the media to become rivals so that football coverage is always crowded.

So we can conclude actually that these two players are indeed the best players of all time. These two players have different abilities and disadvantages. For individuals, maybe Messi is the greatest and for a duel in the air, perhaps Ronaldo is the greatest. So, we have to admit that these two players are really great.
