I wonder if Dovbyk and Yan Couto will follow in Savio's footsteps by joining Manchester City?

Yan Couto is already a Manchester City player. He is just playing for Girona on loan.  Smiley

When it comes to Dovbyk I don't feel like so at least for now. Because Manchester City have Haaland and Alvarez already. I know Alvarez's main position is second striker but it doesn't matter for him much when he plays in Haaland's position as well. But Dovbyk would definitely be on the radar of some big teams after having a really solid season so far. Girona bought them for 7.75 million euros and now his market value is even seen as 28 million.  Smiley
I think the possibility of Dovbyk going to Manchester City is very low because the best position for Manchester City right now is striker. I think they won't transfer alternative players while Haaland is there. Considering that Couto is 21 years old, we can say that he is a good player for Manchester City. He is performing great on loan at Girona.

To Be Or Not To Be
Today I saw this news that is just an opinion of deco but it is something relevant for me to post here and that I can't help but comment on, here is deco's comment:

Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araújo out, Mbappé in — Barcelona director says NO!

source: https://www.instagram.com/p/C3FbXzpowzf/

We all know that there are only two options for mbappe:

1 - stay at PSG
2 - move to real madrid

Now let's suppose that Mbappe had some interest in going to Barcelona and Barcelona refused to sell Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araújo, honestly in my head the only thing I would think was: what the hell do these Barcelona directors have in their heads? Are these Barcelona directors really thinking about having a strong team capable of competing in the European Champions League?

because it seems to me that they haven't thought about having a strong team capable of winning the European champions league. Barcelona management should learn lessons from real madrid who have always made good signings but had some bad luck in signing good players but when they arrived at real madrid they were unable to do their best, but real madrid didn't stand still , they rushed to sign other good young players, and today, real madrid is a very strong team in the league and has a greater chance of becoming la liga champions, yet real madrid is looking at good players on the market, especially mbappe, This is because Real Madrid is a team of visionary managers

They know how to look to the future, they know that having Mbappe in the team would be a big step towards winning the European Champions League, while Barcelona seem to be a disorganized team who don't know what direction they should take yet. Since Messi and so many good players from Messi's time left the team, Barcelona has become a directionless team. In any case, we will see how far Barcelona has managed to reach, in June Xavi is leaving the team, we will see which coach will take the risk of accepting to be Barcelona's coach, because it will be a very tiring type of work.

Barca will not able to buy an expensive high wages player in this winter transfer window nor the next season due to financial issue.
Also they have to get rid of some unimportant high wages players first in the next summer transfer window.

They might be able to get $100M after sell some of their business but they wont spend it only for 1 player, they need a few players for certain positions.
Im pretty sure it will take 1-2 years before we able to see Barca back to their top performance.

It's a player's decision if he wants to stay in a club or leave, also it depends on his contract signed with the team as well as the teams decision to either keep him or let him go. In PSG, Mbappe is one key man that they don't want to give off yet. Even though his contract is set to expire by summer, they still know he's advantageous and would want to keep him.

For Mbappe, his stay in the team beyond and after the expiration of the contract seems to be dependent on his intentions as well as the teams performance in the long run. Good thing for him that Madrid may not really be interested in him yet until summer so he's got to be a bit patient till then, then maybe, he'd be willing to join the Spanish side. Even though Liverpool were questing for him as well, i didn't think they were set to afford that amount for him during the January transfer window. Let's just anticipate summer break whilst watching his movement decision unfold.

Nasser Al-Khelaifi has been silent likewise Mbape, this shows that there is underground discussion has been going on because if we are to forget about this media discussion, PSG want to keep Mbape to the team. They currently have no player that is as good as him and that's why they are doing anything to push his contract to 2026 atleast. If Mbape leave PSG by the end of the season and they don't have any replacement, even the Ligue1 cup they are known to be winning is going to be difficult for them to win.

They can't hide him in that room forever, he has done all he has to do in for that club, it's better to leave when things are still better. I'm not sure if the are going to win these Champions League this season, but if they win under luck circumstances, then Real Madrid dream will be far from over. However, I just think going to Real Madrid will be better for him to pursue more on his career just like the way Ronaldo did back then.

The opportunity for Mbappe to win an individual title with Real Madrid is greater than if he stayed with PSG, has large possibility for winning UEFA Champion League trophy with Real Madrid than PSG and he will get more support to be the best players when joining with Real Madrid. But Mbappe have ready with consequence about his payment salary, actually Madrid will reduce the payment salary received by Mbappe with PSG and he will get cut off few percent of his higher salary before.
Depend with Mbappe if want to win more trophies and get chance for winning individual achieving Madrid is the best club for him but he wants priority with higher payment salary he can extends contract with PSG for long term duration.
That's why I said that the opportunity to play at Real Madrid would bring him to the next stage of his individual career. Because this club has a long history and has always been the favorite team in the Champions League, the opportunity for Mbappe to achieve career heights is quite wide open. The decision to cut his salary by a few percent is not a big problem because he can still earn a more decent income by attracting certain sponsors because when he reaches the peak of his career there will be many sponsors who will want to work with him.

We are not saying that PSG is not a great club, but if you look at the current conditions, there is no chance for Mbappe to achieve an individual career or bring the Champions League title to the club. Because there are a lot of preparations that need to be made by the coach and it may take several seasons for PSG to establish itself as one of the teams to be taken into account.

Serhou Guirassy is reportedly being targeted by several teams in the EPL and considering that his release clause is still at 17.5 million euros, I think the striker from Guinea is still underrated. This season at Stuttgart he has put in incredible performances for a striker and he has scored 17 goals in the Bundesliga so far. It is possible that the number of goals will continue to increase considering that Stuttgart is also still holding out for a place in the Champions League.

If we could guess which EPL teams would be interested in him? could it be Chelsea, Liverpool or Arsenal? because Manchester United is impossible because they already have Rasmus Hojlund. It will make you curious about where your career will go next and the EPL will be even busier if the arrival of a striker like him who is ready to compete on the top scorer's board next season.
Guirassy is a player who has recently had a strong performance as an attacking player and my speculation is that he would be more suitable at Liverpool because they need an attacker like Guirassy and Arsenal themselves still have several players such as Gabriel Martinelli and Olivier Giroud who are the best players and brought in Guirassy It will make player rotation bad and there will be bad gaps if there are too many attacking players.
For Chelsea, it also seems impossible, even though they can pay big salaries, but the club is in bad shape and a player like Guirassy would not want to go to a club that is in bad shape.

It's just speculation because Stuttgart couldn't possibly let go of Guirassy even though he had just come to Stuttgart and made a good contribution.

A player who is competing for the title of top scorer in La Liga with Bellingham and Morata is worth watching and his market price looks very attractive, he should be valued much higher based on his results. But by the way, I haven’t seen other clubs interested in him, perhaps it’s too early for that, and we’ll hear about possible transfers closer to the summer, when the transfer market is open.

Well, Manchester city and Girona are being owned by same owners and it makes sense if the loan transfer between both clubs is seamless and smooth.
Couto and Dovbyk may even not want to return to their parent club after having more play time at a top tier club like Manchester city. The hope is that Manchester city qualifies ahead of Girona to return to the UCL, else, Girona may be the option to go the UCL next season with the kind of performance they have put in this season and according to the rules of the game.

I have a feeling (that is echoed by many other random internet strangers and publications) that if both of these clubs end up inside the Champions League next season, that there would be, first of all, a total transfer ban between them. And that is just the minimum, as UEFA will probably also force these clubs to make organizational changes to separate the two clubs from each other.

That's what happened with the Red Bull clubs a few years back.

I think that would be the right decision to make. Because I believe there should not be any unfair advantage for anyone. And with the situation that these two clubs are in right now, they can definitely exploit the loopholes in the rules. So it will be better if precautions are taken early by the authorities. Because if they can actually take any unfair advantage at this level of competition which is definitely one of the biggest in the world, it is going to raise a lot of questions and that is also not going to look good for the authority as well.

Girona is great and yes he got famous there and he should be always grateful for the chance that he played this well there and given the chance. However, that doesn't mean that he is going to end up staying there until the retirement, that is why it is quite good obvious situation that we are going to end up with players always picking up the better situation.
I read some news related to this transfer and I believe most criticism comes from the fact that there is a possibility that City will use their group to make the transfer easier, essentially giving an unfair advantage over other clubs that are also interested in him. We also don't know what kind of talks are happening behind the scenes, so it is difficult to judge whether the player really wants to move there or if there are any other incentives involved. Some people also feel like City Group is trying to use a club like Girona as a filter to see which player they can use on their biggest club, which means the chance for them to compete at a competitive level fluctuates heavily and fans don't like that.

As a football fan, I'd love it if we see less transfer like this since we can never verify anything. Who is to say that the narrative itself is created by another group that compete with City.
When it comes to player transfers, Man City has always been the best at arranging strategies, including avoiding FFP, and this has been proven several times since Man City has escaped sanctions. Regarding Savio's transfer to Man City, it has become an open secret, at Troyes he has never played at all since being loaned to Eindhoven. We also know that Troyes and Girona are part of the City Football Group and that means Man City has been planning this for a long time. So we are no longer surprised when Man City plays a role in player transfers, especially when the players they take are from CFB itself.

From my point of view, it is likely that these players will leave next season because they will definitely be the target of many big European clubs. We know interest and offers will always come when a player can show good statistics in one season and currently either Dovbyk or Yan Couto have the quality to fulfill that. Previously there were rumors that Yan Couto was linked with Real Madrid and he would be Dani Carvajal's successor as right wing-back.

On the other hand, I haven't heard of any team being interested in bringing Dovbyk but what is clear is that the Ukrainian striker will get his turn. Girona may be grateful to have these great players and it is possible that their current coach, Michel, will also look for a new challenge at a bigger club considering that his achievements this season have also been very good in building Girona.

Yes, that is also possible. The coach might also think that he has achieved great things so far. Actually, he is now ready to move to a bigger club and have some bigger challenges to face. That is not entirely impossible, to be honest. I am pretty sure that the players are going to leave. You know if the coach also leaves, Girona will honestly not have much to replicate the same type of performance, to be honest. But at the same time, the club cannot do anything if they want to leave also. Actually, this is also the price that you have to pay if you are not financially blessed.

we'll see how Mbappe determines his future because Mbappe is still a mystery that is difficult to predict and if Mbappe is thinking about his career, he will definitely leave PSG and join a team that can provide more guarantees for winning the UCL title in the future, but if in the future Mbappe If he has to stay at PSG, I'm very sure that he doesn't think about his career but only thinks about a big salary.
but for a player who has high quality talent, he should not only think about a big salary when he is young, he should choose to get a career and be able to get a prestigious title to increase his market value in the future, except when he is a little older, Mbappe can think about a big salary, but for now I prefer if he goes to Real Madrid or an EPL team.

what I am currently thinking is whether there will be new problems or drama like last season when Real Madrid tried to get Mbappe and I think PSG has great wealth and could keep Mbappe with a bigger salary offer but as long as his contract is up Mbappe has the power to deciding where he will go and staying at PSG is the same as throwing away his youth career without any development and will not have more experience in the future.
It's a player's decision if he wants to stay in a club or leave, also it depends on his contract signed with the team as well as the teams decision to either keep him or let him go. Well Girona is great and he became famous there but that applies to this season, no one knows if next season will be the same where Girona is able to have the strength that can make them contenders for the title.
But each player will have their own best decision in determining the future and the good or bad achievements that will be achieved still all depend on each player.
With the current situation, there is great hope for Girona to be able to improve again in the coming seasons even though it is as you say because in the end we know that this season was a surprise but it is not wrong to expect the best again next season.

But in this case I think it will be a little complicated. To get the same consistency as today then it's important for Girona to keep the teamwork going but the problem is that next season they will definitely lose some of their players considering we must be aware that some players like Savio are now confirmed to join Manchester City next season. In addition, there will certainly be several other players who will eventually be ogled by big clubs due to the performance displayed this season so that it becomes one of the difficult conditions for Girona to anticipate next season even though the hope is that they remain consistent but do not rule out the possibility that differences in performance will occur later.

I wonder if Dovbyk and Yan Couto will follow in Savio's footsteps by joining Manchester City? considering that Girona and Manchester City are in the same parent company and if that happens again, Manchester City will be the team that will benefit the most. We know that currently the roles of Dovbyk and Yan Couto are very important for Girona and not only this season but in next season both of them will still be needed as starters.

Currently Dovbyk is the club's top scorer with 14 goals and is competing with Jude Bellingham on the La Liga top scorer board and Yan Couto is a right wing defender who also often contributes with his assists. If Girona loses several more important players then they will become a mediocre team next season and will not be able to continue what they have achieved this season. Actually, I'm quite worried if there are advantages like this and Manchester City are already quite happy with their current squad and Savio's presence should be felt to be enough to strengthen the depth of their squad.
Wrong decision if leaves Girona and join with Manchester City, there are not guarantee to get more minutes playing if three of them reach agreement for joining Manchester City has many top potential there. Actually for Dovbyk how difficult get regular position behind Manchester City has Erling Haaland as center forward.

Artem Dovbyk is very important player for Girona in this season and managed La Liga top scorer awhile after scoring 14 goals of 21 matches, I don't sure he will get more minutes playing if moving to Manchester City next season. Had other rumor with Barcelona interested for signing Artem Dovbyk but I doubt has enough money around 50 million euro for fees transfer or not? But difference opportunity if Artem Dovbyk joining with Barcelona he will get regular position than Manchester City.

I don't think so because if Girona loses many important players then it will really affect Girona's performance so far, because so far Girona has performed amazingly in La Liga and they want to fight hard so they can get the La Liga title they really dream of, if If they sell their players, it's the same as selling their prices to another club where Girona might have difficulty stabilizing their performance. They currently still have a lot of matches and they have to focus on the matches, not just think about the profits from selling players, because these 2 players play a very important role. for Girona at the moment.

Moreover, Manchester City already has a lot of squads that have the same potential, if they buy a lot of players it will only lead them into violations where Manchester City has already committed several violations regarding their spending on buying players. Savio's presence should be enough for Manchester City and It's not certain that this striker will be a regular player for Manchester City, but at least Savio can be a good backup option considering his young age. Pep Guardiola can still hone Savio's abilities to become a better striker in the future.

I mean why wouldn't you want to play for more money, that alone should be good enough that we are going to end up thinking about. I think the more money part is enough for him to make an easy choice, but also the fact that he would be moving to one of the biggest clubs in the world right now is also a great thing and people should consider that as a possible reason.

Not all players will really care about money when they still have the goal of expanding their career and name, maybe with big team they will be able to get large amounts of money and career that is easier to get.
But you still have to consider where the team competes and whether the supporting players can really make balanced contribution or not, as is the case with Manchester City, which is big English team and competes in the Premier League.
The Premier League is competition that is quite difficult to master and Manchester City has great players overall so if they cannot compete and perform well or have balance then they will clearly be left behind by other players and will fail to develop into great players.

Well Girona is great and he became famous there but that applies to this season, no one knows if next season will be the same where Girona is able to have the strength that can make them contenders for the title.
