Since forum is working normally for the majority of users in the last few days and to avoid redundant and repetitive posts I am locking this thread.

We all good now and that has padded another layer of experience for users.
The experience is one hell of an experience that shouldn't repeat itself.  I can't even begin to fathom what the majority of forum members(including myself) went through just a post. After we have succeed in making a post, We discover that one of our posts has duplicate itself up to 5–6 times in a row.

Now that the problem has been resolved, everything is good, albeit we still don't know what caused it or what the mod told us caused it. I don't think there will be an explanation to be given since the problem is resolved and didn't last for long.

~~~
I have been using the forum normally since yesterday and faced no issues at all. Seems like we have overcome the problem but we never knew exactly where was the problem. This time we haven't seen any post from Theymos or any mod, explaining what went wrong, which I thought was a bit strange.
Anyways, I hope this issue is now done and dusted and won't come up again  Embarrassed
You are right, the forum works normally but sometimes pages load slowly. But as far as I'm using it today, I haven't had any issues and everything is fine. Of course I also hope that everything will no longer have problems and this forum will be normal again, so the cloudflare issue has been resolved properly.
I'm not waiting for clarification as to what's causing the problem, but perhaps an admin needs to tell us why this issue has happens a lot during this year.
I was surprised when I bumped into that bug...
Firstly, the cloudflare captcha confirmation process was breath taking....it kinda like worked for some hours and I was logged out after a long while of reading and typing...
Secondly, It wasn't supposed to take that long but the site was really heavy; I barely had to concentrate for every new page reload....it kept on persisting,.. but I also realized it wasn't the same case for all browsers.
Anybody else faced with this issue - Error 1015, You are being rate limited?
My job sometimes requires me to use South and North American IP addresses to access certain websites. I saw the "you are being rate limited" twice today but not on Bitcointalk. One was on a website to check your IP address, and the other one was from a Canadian work-related page. I don't remember seeing it before on either website. Deactivating and re-enabling my VPN fixed it.
I’m sure that is far from the intent @OP but seeing the title of this thread sounds scary. Forum hailing issues breeds the idea of the forum going down, I mean; that’s how it sounds to me and it’s a lot mild than that or perhaps it’s me exaggerating.
Anyway, haven’t experienced other issues related with cloudfare which usually doesn’t last as much as this one did, there was little course for an alarm on my own side. I just felt it was going to be a matter of hours or a day before it would be resolved.
While other took the nature of the forum not being accessible, this one was more about timing out or breaks that can result in wiping off comments within the comment box or creating room for duplicate posts.
But it seems that today's forum is running well, without any disturbances like yesterday which requires users to experience cloudflare verification when logging in and take a lot of time saying "I'm not a robot", and experiencing a time out when trying to log in, or time out after pressing the post button.
I hope your don't run into problems like this again and run as usual again. Roll Eyes
I personally can not confirm that everything is going well with the forum. I still experience issues while trying to post a reply, I got this “session time is out, try to log in again” error, although I pressed “always stay logged in” button before. Of course, today the situation is much better, at least I have an access to the site, but problems are still there, unfortunately
I tried accessing the forum using Opera browser and that's the message I got. It looks like Cloudflare went out on a blocking spree
Did you use Opera browser with or without built-in free VPN feature?
It could be that many users are using same shared IP address that got banned by cloudflare system.
Everything works fine on my end today and I tested how browsing forum works with different browsers, all went fine for now.
It doesn't work at all for me on multiple devices which has Tor Browser. In the end, i had to use VPN instead with different browser.
Paranoid mode: What if the DDOS is designed to force people to reduce their anonymity?
That's not a paranoid mode, that's a logical mode!
If you can't force people to be less anonymous, just make their anonymous sessions so uncomfortable that they will willingly gave up on it Cheesy
I might be asking a noob question: Is it possible to pass Cloudflare human verification on the TOR browser?
Try it Smiley I recommend anyone to have Tor browser installed for whenever it comes in handy.
FYI: I've seen captchas that take 5-10 minutes to solve, but Cloudflare wouldn't even get passed the "Verifying" step on Tor browser. So you won't even reach the captcha.
However, I just checked again, and Bitcointalk now loads again on Tor. I can also scrape the forum without whitelisting, so (at least for the moment) it seems Cloudflare returned to normal.
I have been experiencing slow loading times when browsing forum topics as well in the last couple of days. It seems better right now. I had no issues posting, except waiting for the post to appear longer than what is normal. But there was a thread of mine that I was trying to edit and it didn't work. All attempts resulted in 500 server errors. Even opening the post and clicking on the preview button displayed the 500 error. Luckily, it's gone now.
The forum is really working now and I don't think that anyone is facing any such issues anymore. I think the issue was not because of the host server but it was basically a Cloudflare issue because I have seen many sites that implemented Cloudflare into their servers were having the same issue. I still think that Cloudflare hasn't fixed the issue and many sites have been affected by this issue. I hope that we will soon get a proper routing from Cloudflare and there wont be such issues in future.
for me the pages build up normally and i don't get any cloudflare error message anymore. but what doesn't work for me is sending the private messages to certain users (there the error message appears)... Tongue
Before writing this particular message, I have fill the cloudflare request to prove that I am not a robot multiple time which is always stressful for me to accomplish sometimes and I hope the community team will do something about it. I think it's because if your browser since is like chrome browser does not haveuch difficulty with the cloudfare verification which can slowdown the way we make post and even make us to leave posting since the restrictions are always keep coming.
That indeed is unusual when i never hear any major event on German in past few months.
Can this sudden snooping from Germany be related to what is happening in its neighbor? I haven't heard anything in the news from Germany. I might be asking a noob question: Is it possible to pass Cloudflare human verification on the TOR browser? As my understanding says it is not possible as Cloudflare verification is meant to check if you are a human for which the verification bot would review the browsing details by checking the browser. TOR does not hold any history which might be the reason why TOR users are unable to login to the forum using it. Is my understanding correct?
There is a massive jump in Tor users worldwide but especially in Germany, and this was never seen before.
Back in 2017
But I admit it's not up to the same level as you show.
Do you like conspiracy theory?  Tongue
Paranoid mode: What if the DDOS is designed to force people to reduce their anonymity?
Supper paranoid user reporting here, but did you see latest stats for Tor metrics?
There is a massive jump in Tor users worldwide but especially in Germany, and this was never seen before.
My suspicion is that most of this are operated by government agencies for spying on people, and only small percent increase is from real users.
I don't think recent Cloudflare problems are just as coincidence, and this is not normal.
Only reconnecting through VPN helped, and even then I didn't immediately see the published post, I had first to return to the topic where I wrote, refresh the page, and then I already understood that the post has been published.
Is VPN the temporary solution to the issue ?
It is, it is not stable. For example, I just got knocked out again even though I used VPN. I had to change the "location" and reconnect. I can write and post, but it is extremely inconvenient and I wish the errors to be solved as soon as possible.
