Hello. I don't understand something. My activity will grow up only after 14 days or weeks or will be updated every hour?

Both, the calculation will be done every hour. The result will only change if your "time" value changes[1], which happens when you post in certain time periods. You can see in the table botany linked when these periods start.

[1] unless for your account time*14 < posts

Can you pm me?

I guess when this tag existed, it would've been put under someone's username after it has been objectively (clear evidence that could be assessed by anyone) determined that the user is a scammer
I have no doubt that it was, however it was only applied by a centralized body with control over most (if not all) the forum. If one of these people suddenly decided to add a SCAMMER tag to someone with no evidence, what could we do against it? (Hint: not much).

so I think personal bias might not be an issue, however, it might be when giving negative feedback.
It may, however this is why the DT system is spread out over several people. If someone trusted left a fake negative feedback calling someone a scammer there would be several ways to combat it. A SCAMMER tag could not be combatted as such.

Personally I do Smiley and I think scammer tag or not, one should always look into the history of the person they're dealing with.
Good. If everyone did that it would likely make a better environment for everyonr to trade in. Sadly, there are some users that like to spread the idea that negative trust = scammer, which makes a worse environment for everyone.
However, this is off topic here, so I won't discuss it further.

Due to this the tag could also be put on due to a personal bias which wouldn't be fair.

Put some effort into looking into the people you trade with and it won't be a problem.

I think it would've been quite handy to keep it Smiley as one would know right away if a user is a scammer instead of going through their negative feedback and sort out what is legitimate and what is not.
In theory it works, however in practice not so much.
For starters, it would be a massive load of extra work for Staff as the tag would have to manually applied. Due to this the tag could also be put on due to a personal bias which wouldn't be fair. Put some effort into looking into the people you trade with and it won't be a problem.

Thats outdated and the scammer tag was removed. Those who had it now have negativ trust ratings by 'OldScammerTag'.

No I dont escrow anymore.
SCAMMER:Manually applied by administration, regardless of post count and gets 5 red Xs under his name.

Was wondering about this one, as I've never seen it under anyone's username. I assume a user doesn't apply to become a scammer Grin, how does one get this tag under their username? Should other users report them? Is there some kind of procedure to follow? Thx.

Hello. I don't understand something. My activity will grow up only after 14 days or weeks or will be updated every hour?

Since you have made sufficient number of posts, your activity will "grow" when you make a post in the next 14-day period, i.e. after 3-Jan-2017.
Here is a list of the start times of activity periods.

I understand the fact that newbies have to wait 6 min to make posts because of avoid spamming. But I don't understand is time delays on searching and sending messages. Surely there's no harm in taking such restrictions away.

Searching is heavy on the database, thus the search via google was implemented and usually works fine. PMs are used for spam as well.

A rank past legendary like around 2000 activity+ would be pretty cool like OG or Geezer or something lol

This has been discussed on the new forum software section but no decisions was made by theymos as far as I know , but I doubt we will stop at legendary rank with over the years passing , we still don't have enough legendary members though. Discussion thread can be found here : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/new-rank-996098

One question, is it possible anywhere in our profile to see what our 'time' number is? Of course it would be possible to go through all previous posts made and link them to the 14 day intervals, but curious if there is just a quick place to see it?
I'm not entirelly certain that I understand what you're asking about. In case that you're talking about your own potential (i.e. unused) activity? You can check that by using the BTCT Account Pricer. For your account it is:"168 (Potential Full Member)".

If you want to know when activity updates, then use this spreadsheet.

That's what I meant, thanks so much!

Can someone give a lamens terms on how the activity number is calculated please?

I get most of the explanation here:-

Quote
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated ever hour.

I just don't understand the "posts" bit in the brackets and if the activity is updated every hour how come ive had 378 as my activity for the past 3 days? Or does it only change according to the table of two week increments already posted?

Thanks.

There are 3 variables in the above formula.

activity, time and post.

1 "time" is given to each account that posts at least once in one of the 14 day long periods for this variable. Posts is the number of posts you have made, regardless of the 14 day period.

Your activity is the smaller number of 14 * time and your posts. For the majority of users here the number posts is larger than time*14, thus their activity is limited by time. As your activity is updated hourly, your time is only increased every 14 days (for exact days and times, see the table you mentioned). Since time is what changes your activity, it will only change every 14 days as every recalculation in between results in the same number.

At last, this is what I was looking for Smiley

One question, is it possible anywhere in our profile to see what our 'time' number is? Of course it would be possible to go through all previous posts made and link them to the 14 day intervals, but curious if there is just a quick place to see it?
