Has this changed?  I noticed recently that, nowadays, whenever I post, my "activity" now constantly matches my post-count.  If I make a post, my activity will increase by exactly one after a little time.  It used to always increase in multiples of 14, as described above.
No. That is because you have potential activity, i.e. activity that you did not achieve prior due to a lack of posts. It increases a maximum of 14 in a 2 week period. Nothing has changed.

I see, thanks.

The way activity is calculated:
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

is there like a market for users??
Yes.

how come everyone here is now an expert?
No. The rank has no relation to knowledge. It simply shows that you've been active for X amount of time. There are high ranked members that I would consider newbies.

I'm not sure what do you mean but they are hero members because they was active and posting while you haven't .

there is actually 5 platinum stars reserved for Satoshi Nakamoto and nobody else?
Yes. You can see those stars clearly if you take a look at his last post. You won't find them on someone else.

Whats the diferent between count posts and activity?
The number of posts represents the actual number of times that you've replied somewhere. Activity is what the ranks are based on While you can create a theoretically unlimited amount of posts, you can only get 14 activity points in 2 weeks (i.e. 14+ posts). Basically you need X amount of activity for Y rank.

Thanks for the explaining , I am now since 19 March member and have over 40 posts but still newbie.

So the days counts not the posts or quality posts, very difficult system :p

Just keep on being active and keep on posting, next update you will become a Jr. Member. Smiley You can join signature campaign at that time. Goodluck!
Thanks, i am every day active Wink to the Full Member status Tongue Cheesy

Just make sure you have at least 14 posts every 2 weeks, and your activity would always be updated.

Indeed, those are just labels to show how long have you've been active in this forum. Although newbies get a lot of beating in some threads (being accused as scammers and stuffs), newbies will turn into a higher rank in no time.

Oh, is that so?
Yes, once you achieve the rank of a full member you should see the option in the place where I've mentioned (in my previous post).

Well I must keep active here, I really want a avatar cause its amazing. I think I will take years to make a hero member. xD
Well, technically it is a maximum of 1 day = 1 activity point (although the update is every 14 days - maximum of 14 points), so you do the math.

while i'm in the thread though does anyone else dislike "Member" and "Full Member" as titles?
probably just me.
I don't see a reason for which one would dislike someone based on their titles, especially since those are just standard.

Wow! I'm always dreaming of to be a legendary here in bitcointalk but I think it will take so many years to achieve that rank.

another quality post.. i have noticed an issue with a lot of users just posting to "keep active" vs actually contributing.

I like the term member and full member as titles. Yeah maybe you are the only one doesn't like it friend.
