Someone told me there's an update for the ranking system. What's going on?
Yeah I am wondering what changed as well. Not too sure what my previous rank was, but I think it did not change. Keeping an eye on this thread to see what changed

So we ignore this one completely I guess...?

I guess I shouldn't be too surprised...

That is because it is off-topic, ie. nothing to do with the subject of this thread. That's a good way to get banned again. If you already PM'd Cyrus and Theymos then it's unlikely anything will happen but you could try starting a thread on this board and ask.

Sorry, not looking to get banned but this was the closest topic and I thought it was very relevant, seeing as how I'm a Newbie now with no solution to recover my account, no help and no ideas. I actually thought it would be a very good piece of information for everyone to know (in case they didn't, like me) that you can be banned for any reason and then you may never be able to get your account and therefore your rank back. Anyways, just posting to let you know why I thought it was relevant. No ads. No financial self-interest. And I can only hope not to get banned (just like any of us).

What is ''min''

The way activity is calculated:
Quote from: theymos on 18 June 2013, 18:44:42
The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Activity is updated every hour.

Min= minimum, so the lowest of either time*14 or posts

1 X 14 = 14
2 X 14 = 28
3 X 14 = 42 Jnr Member ( 1,5 month)
4 X 14 = 56
5 X 14 = 70 Member (2,5 month)
6 X 14 = 84
7 X 14 = 98
8 X 14 = 112
9 X 14 = 126 Full Member (4,5 month)
Must pass about 4,5 month to get "member" rank, right? And i should post minimum 1 message in 14 days period?

That's right, by posting at least 1 time in every 2 weeks period you will earn an extra 13 "pontential activity "
So by 45 months you get member rank that's right.

Hi Guys, relative newbie here (even less relative considering my rank as Newbie here). I started looking and getting into crypto about 2-3 years ago and even started up a bitcointalk profile. Since then, suffered a 5th concussion which had me sidelined for a really long time. Since starting to be a le to read again, I tried getting back into crypto and having a hard time, but just chugging along... I tried to reactivate my old bitcointalk account, but apparently I was banned due to a leak. The ban message refers to an email that I emailed a number of times with no response. I looked up on Google for a contact and emailed there, but no reply. I've PMed a moderator and Cyrus and Theymos (the 2 Admins I found through search here). Moderator initially said he couldn't do anything and was silent when I asked what to do. Neither Admin has ever replied. Any help would be appreciated.

So we ignore this one completely I guess...?

How true is this?

It's valid for him because he have 112 Activity so he needs another activity period to reach +120 (where he becomes full member) but that's not the case for you.

Is there an earning opportunity associated with these ranks?
Yes, there is. Higher rank users have higher rates (per post), as long as their participating in a signature campaign.
