It is not really about the amount of referrals but about how active they are. I always struggle to get referrals especially for established sites like this. I always try to get some referrals but find it difficult to find good places where to advertise.

True! But it's almost impossible to get one super active player or whale, it's much better for me I think to get 1000 very small players, maybe only 1 remember to freeroll once a week, that's still about 30 rolls a day, so it's 30 lotto tickets a day, plus satoshi. Even if they roll once a month, it's 6 a day Smiley

And you never know when they start going active, whereas a whale once he busts, it's over (I think).

Makes me tempted to think about doing ads again lol

- A few months ago, it was said around here that changing Freebitco's database would be too expensive.

A few years ago even. I think it's a wallet thing, and so much active balances in them, that if you change everything they lost a big cost in consolidation (I believe this is what what said).

when logging in on the PC now fresh it makes a request via HTTPS to here https://bitwrecken.com/?action=new&id=482015 when clicking new deposit address and the response is 0 from the request. it should be 1.

Dude, that looks like a scam! There is no request to "bitwrecken.com" from freebitco.in in my logs when I request to generate a new deposit address.  It looks like you have malware on your computer.

It would be good if someone else can confirm this.

So anyway, I applied as a merit source :)

It might be the case but the developers should look into this again. Segwit has been here for sometime and fees suddenly cranking up like a wave is nothing new, so this might help as a method to cut down fees during such times. However I cant speak for them for what the owners have in mind.

Since most of us have switched to SegWit wallets and the legacy wallets are lying there collecting dust, having to withdraw back to the legacy wallet and then send to the SegWit wallet is a two step process which can essentially be reduced to one.

Deposit addresses in Freebitco always start by "1". Is there any change about the format?

[Note: this is about a chat around there, nothing  else]

They have been using the same type of addresses for many years, and I am not aware that they are going to change, but it would be nice to know why they have not yet switched to Segwit, when they could be saving on fees by doing so. If we multiply by all the volume of transactions and deposit addresses they have, it must be a lot of money.

I don't know if it's been mentioned since but the reason given by theQuinn some time ago was "Changing the deposit addresses to Segwit requires a major database reorganisation because the initial deposit address is used to index the accounts. To do that we would have to take the site offline for many hours to implement. Maybe if we have some other necessity to take the site down we could do it at the same time but we don't want to have an outage just for that."

Ahh I see I thought I was doing something wrong ha.

Nah all good man, I spent about .50 btc on ads ages ago and it'd paid off

Thanks for sharing... I have 5 referrals and my 5th and final one is the one who's doing the most but I agreed to give him all his commissions anyway, I'm not in this for that, but I like telling people about the site.

Used to do a lot of affiliate marketing loooong time ago, kinda made some lose some like crypto but no energy for that anymore.

Ironically BTC was accelerated by gambling if anything, its provided a regular day in and day out source of revenue and liquidity across the whole blockchain that underpinned demand when required even if price was down it was there.  That effect isnt purely a crypto thing its acknowledged for many years, gambling, alcohol and death (funeral trade healthcare etc.) all are considered a recession proof type industry for its regularity.   Vices perhaps but taxes themselves as income for a government or a factor within an economy, trade balance or whatever finance dynamic the taxes are highly variable where as gambling has its uses of something of an ironic backbone in this respect.

I recognize of course people lose money on gambling but also it could be argued in many cases they wouldnt have any BTC to begin with if it wasnt for the usage of gambling, holding a balance or holding tokens etc.  I guess its ironic, I know of someone who only had BTC because of wanting to hire a server in 2013 so he bought a load to pay the server off years ahead.   His balance outlived his interest in hosting whatever game it was so he had the BTC server fees left over unused and it was 2020 era before he popped up and in that hype remembered he still had the balance sitting there now worth just a tiny bit more.

Main deal with BTC is despite the fast moves, it is best to stick around and make the amounts held last over years or you miss the main bulk of how it gains.  Too much turbulence kicks a hell of a lot of dust and people lose vision of the big gains along the way and lose out if they dont stay the course.   Once BTC is trying to close this week out with a price closing above the old ATH, that'd be positive but its crawling a little too much in the effort to do so seems like; to be confirmed basically.

Had a great day because I won 2 out of 3 bets I placed on BTC and ETH price betting.
1st bet was on BTC price range of $70k - $80k with the odds of 3.19x --> won Grin
2nd bet was on ETH price range of $3500 - $3750 with the odds of 3.81x --> won Grin
3rd bet was on ETH price range of $3751 - $4000 with the odds of 3.74x --> lost

Those were some decent returns.
Congrats bro  Cool, that's a really good result, you've been very smart to bet on those ranges actually, and above all to be able to win with such tiny ranges $500 on ETH and 10k for Bitcoin. But when have you placed your bets precisely? Did you wait the very last day? I'm curious. It closed one week before the end of the month if I'm not mistaken, so anyway it's not easy at all to get such results.
Besides that, it's surprising to not see a bet on FUN tokens price, you never bet on this crypto? Why? It's usually less volatile than BTC and ETH

Metawin.com - Truly the best casino ever
Hello everyone, I have just been credited the money into my freebitco.in account. I really want to say thank you to everyone who helped amplify this case in one way or the other, I truly appreciate. Although freebitcoin still needs to do better in terms of customer support.

I am glad to finally have this resolved. Thank you all for your help 🙏

~snip~

Actually I had another pending deposit issue that I was going to bring to light after this one had been addressed, they resolved both without me needing to bring to their notice. Thank you everyone.
I am glad that your case got solved and you got your money in your pocket. That's why we are here, Bitcointalk and its community has a huge power. Sometimes problems give you rewards and in this case, you got very high bitcoin price and the fiat value of your coins dramatically increased.

I have made a video to show the situation.  I tried it on two different laptops and on the mobile, same behaviour:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O7gXJTFnqyw

I have also checked the profile settings, there is no options that are related to this topic.
So i believe it is either per-user setting or per country setting, and not the Browser setting or laptop setting.   But would need Freebitco.in's support to resolve this, and getting in touch with them is mission impossible.

I had a similar problem on different website and my problem was caused by this: I was using Google Chrome on smartphone and PC, I had turned on syncing that means every info was synced from pc to smartphone and back, so I couldn't generate a new address via my smartphone and pc but I was able to do that with a different browser which I wasn't syncing. If this is not the case with you, then this will be a problem that Freebitco has to solve but it's strange that this problem only affects to your account because I can generate new address without a problem.

You can disagree I'm letting you know our issue doesn't affect you clearly so doubting what we're saying isn't helping.

The only other thing I just noticed is under old address my  current deposit address Is listed there too now [the old one it rolled back to which is working]]. Before hand it I don't believe it was. Does the new address also appear under old addresses deposit list ?

I'm not disagreeing with you that you (and the other two members) are experiencing issues. I'm simply pointing out that, despite your claims, the problem doesn't necessarily originate from FreeBitcoin. As you can see, the "problem" doesn't seem to be affecting everyone, and I can attest to that.  Whether you find this information useful is entirely up to you. However, until we get more information and hear their side of the story, we cannot definitively conclude that it's their fault. We can't exclude the possibility that something else is causing the issue.

Yes, the newly generated addresses are also listed in the OLD DEPOSIT ADDRESSES list. I think it's always been that way.

Maybe it is related to some other criteria, for example location, or maybe it is per-user setting.  I would suspect it is only for those users that had previously had received this notification (you mentioned that you didn't get this notification).  Please check this on the other thread (https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.63874969) how the image looked like, this user had same issue as me, and he had taken a screenshot (https://imgbb.host/images/MAU2u.png).  The popup of DEPOSIT BITCOINS is hiding most of the message, but there is one small part of the third notification which was the message related to the address changes.

Yes, I saw that screenshot. I noticed that the QR code of the generated address is missing. That in itself is suspicious. Also, pay attention to other users' responses below that post. None of them have seen such a notification and some other members are also skeptical about the legitimacy of the notification.

I have not seen this message anywhere on the site, their social media, or marketing emails. On my account I can only generate legacy addresses for deposits. I am skeptical about this being a genuine message you received. If you can show a screenshot of this message it might be useful in determining its legitimacy.

Regarding new deposit address, i tried both in the browser and on the mobile app, nothing happens when i click on the "new deposit address" button, so it is not an issue with my browser, it is just the FBC's application (I guess they have disabled the generate new address function).

I have to disagree with this as I have just successfully generated a new deposit address in my freebitco.in account.  I'm still not sure what the issue is that you guys are facing, but none of the above was reflected in my experience using the FreeBitcoin site in recent days.

OK, seeing this here, being someone who likes to be sure of this myself, I quickly accessed my freebitco account and when to the deposit page and tried clicking the "generate new address" button, and indeed, the button did not only work, but also, a new deposit address was actually generated for me in less than 2 seconds..
This can be confirm in the short I share below.

https://talkimg.com/images/2024/04/06/V9bdm.jpeg

For whoever the "generate new address" button is not working for, it's hard to tell what the reason could be, but I guess the issue might be linked to the browser being used to access the site, or more likely, might be linked to the user's settings in his or her profile, though I haven't looked at my profile settings on my freebitco account to ascertain if there is a setting to turn off the ability to generate new address, but you guys can check that to see if there is any setting like that.

In my case i have tried to create a new deposit address it does not work, i can assure you.  I tried it on 2 different laptops, with 2 different browsers (Chrome and Edge), as well as on my mobile app.  None of them give any reaction to the "Click".  The mouse pointer changes to a "hand" pointer when i move-over the "New Deposit Address" button, and the color changes to light blue, but when I click, nothing happens.

Cleary your experience is working as normal, but please don't undermine our issue and steer the discussion as a problem of our laptop or virus/malware, when it is not the case, and it is not helping us in the problem resolving.  I can upload a video as a further proof if needed, but i think we should be able to trust each other's words.

Yes, I would say that the notification was from legitimate freebitco.in site, all of my amounts were according to the actual status, the multiply rolls were increasing and decreasing as normal, and the site was refreshed every 1 hour as is normally doing when the timer expires. Everything seemed very legitimate, with the note that this message was there for several days (I would say around 3 or 4 days) and it seemed like the site is legitimate, also, i had the same message also on my mobile app.
I checked in my history stats, my the last deposit and withdrawal to the old address was on 31st March.  after that I guess on 1st or 2nd of April was received the notification, and several hours after my unsuccessful deposit to the new P2SH address, the notification was removed and the old address is now showing again.

That's so strange and I don't know why FreeBitco.in would do such a thing. I'm not saying you're not telling the truth, but it seems like something else could be at stake here. You mentioned the notification looked genuine, everything seemed to function normally, and it even appeared on your mobile app. And the notification vanished after your unsuccessful deposit attempt to the new P2SH address, and the old address reappeared. That timing is awfully suspicious and that's concerning if it was a fake.

Also, there don't seem to be any other reports from other users, except for you two.

As I said before, I was active on the site at that time and did not see any notification and my FreeBitco.in deposit address did not change during that period. Only when I requested a new deposit address, the system generated a new address, but it is still a legacy address, and all old, previously generated deposit addresses should work as before.

I appreciate the commentary but there is nothing else at stake here, the btc has gone to freebitco.ins wallets and is following a similar pattern when consolidating. Here is the other user that was mentioning the same issue https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.63874969

A simple google or forum search could have found. That quire easy.

I've been using the site daily for a while I only access it from a direct link. No where else or an email when I do a free spin which I could tell if it wasn't my account as my referrals wouldn't add up, my facet amount would be wrong or even my reward points which I use daily wouldn't be right.

I'm unable to generate a deposit address myself now if I click new one at present. I've deposited successfully onto my old address after the new one didn't work to test it.

While i understand your trying to help its not actually helping as it is almost dismissing our issues here which might put the priority on it lower, there's 3 users here in this forum affected that means there's more than just us.

Anyway I'll away for this to be fixed, I just hope it's not 8 months....

Initially I had thought of this possibility, especially after I saw that this notification is removed and that the deposit address was returned back to the old deposit address (not immediately, but after several hours).  However, I do not believe it is the case of a scam, but rather Freebitco.in doing some work and making a rollback.

I agree with ID482015, and I conclude that this was not a phishing site, since I always open the webpage directly, not via some links, and my wallet status and reward points were correct (~80k) when i logged in.   And just before my deposit, I had lost a few bigger bets, and those reward points showed up in my new status (~85k).   Even today, they are still showing as my current reward points (i.e. FBC have increased by the adequate amount and are updated in FBCs database).   I had used the exact same open webpage to make the deposit to the new address, so I am 100% sure that the site was genuine freebitco.in (otherwise, the reward points would not have increased).    Also, it happened to more of us, not just a single isolated case. (at least 3 on this forum alone;  in reality probably much more that are probably still waiting for FAQ or support's answer)

So, I would dismiss this possibility, and focus on the efforts of TheQuin to make a prompt rectification, since these are surely FBC wallet addresses, and they can easily check the TX IDs and verify how much has been transferred to them vs. how much has been credited to us.

Regarding malware, i ran a full computer scan both for viruses and malware, and no issues are found.
Regarding new deposit address, i tried both in the browser and on the mobile app, nothing happens when i click on the "new deposit address" button, so it is not an issue with my browser, it is just the FBC's application (I guess they have disabled the generate new address function).

I understand what you're saying but that still doesn't rule out the possibility that your computers are infected with malware or something similar. I repeat, FreeBitcoin.in has never used P2SH addresses for deposits as far as I know and I have never seen any notification in my account or reports of such a thing from any reputable member.

You say that you are unable to generate a new deposit address in your freebitco.in account - Do you know why is that? Have you tried accessing the site from another browser or another computer? Maybe you have some browser extensions or scripts that are messing things up.
