Djokovic is in good form and has the best chance to win, but the odd for him is only 1.43... There is no real value in that odd.
I placed a small bet on A. Zverev to win the title @33. While his chances to win are quite low, but this is a quite attrictive odd to place a small bet.

I'd describe that as cost of capital but also some people will gamble their daily interest, it could be argued in favour as attracting deposits which then encourage gambling 'because its there'. I reckon its justifiable and possibly even profitable for that reason. Anyhow every company has a cost of capital to its operations, money isnt free despite the modern dynamic in many western economies its not really that way. In your example if the whale did just that then yea but as a group I'm considering if its a negative setup or not and obviously some people will be gambling more because of it, I know I do.

BTW, anyone remember I said we'd easily get a fall back in price but it'd be really be too tight to make the 31st; seems like thats exactly whats happened. Wouldn't they also lose money if a whale deposits hundreds of btc just to take advantage of the %4 annual interest and avoid anything else? (playing dice, lottery, sports betting etc...)

If I deposit 100 btc right now, my daily income would be 0.01095890btc. That's 0.32928995 monthly which is a lot of money.
