I think even though Marseille looks more focused on Ligue 1 but that doesn't mean Marseille will be able to become a tough competitor for PSG, because if they can be consistent, of course Marseille has a mission to stay in the best place in the standings and the best is only for second place. If they are safe to be in that position, then they will also be able to put up a stronger fight in the Champions League. Although indeed, the chance to qualify from the group stage seems difficult for Marseille but that does not mean Marseille will just give up without any efforts made.

First of all, a strong squad is needed to win the title. At the same time, the players on the bench have to be talented enough. Most chances PSG will stay at top and then Marseille is going to stay at second spot which is regularly happening in French League even right now we have few more teams which are doing good job, but sadly these are not consistent which is having quality difference between top two and others but Monaco which was average in start of this season now having good fight back and after three matches win they are at fifth but Lorient and Lens are also having good time with their performance which is good signal for top rank teams hopefully after break we will have some interesting competition at top which give good entertainment and good fight at top.

Lyon were also doing good job but suddenly lost of three matches in a row having big drop in their place few teams which were very good in last season having the worst time with down in ranks and having poor start of this season is also giving them headache, but hopefully things could be clear in coming weeks.

I think that Marseille need to increase their scoring performance a little more. They are doing a good job for now by staying right behind PSG in the standings. But this might not go on like this for long if they don't get closer to PSG's scoring level. For example Marseille struggled quite much against Rennes in their last match. They had a really poor percentage of shots on goal. Of course even PSG have this kind of matches but Marseille don't have much luxury of doing this often. This would help PSG increase the point gap easily.

Of course there is a big difference in the attacking lines of these teams. Marseille don't have a dream trio like Messi - Neymar - Mbappe. Grin

By the way I remember of course that Lille won the league title by scoring around 20 less goals than PSG. But it was a really hard-fought title. Lille must be grateful for especially their solid defense because they were the least conceding team at the same time. I don't know if Marseille can make the same effort they did.

We agree, but the French league still has a very long schedule of matches. no one doubts PSG in terms of strength, they are a very strong team both in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League. but if in the middle of the journey two of the three strikers owned by PSG get serious injuries, then the Ligue 1 title seems difficult for them to get. i don't expect that to happen, but so far there is no strong enough competitor to break PSG's dominance in Ligue 1.

Odds for title mostly having no signifying changes until we have big mess up like you are saying if these top rank players injured then surely they have reason for having changes but still not enough because we all know PSG is one of the most squads in French League, and they have enough replacements which can cover their loses and able to win this title without these three players even this hard luck if these three out with injuries on same time.

But, surely as Bayern Munich is having bad time this can happen with any team which can create some hype but no serious specially teams like these which are currently point of talk because these leagues are having no enough quality for challenging them and bookmakers also know this fact just because of this they are having odds like these which mostly call free money but for placing bet its never been ideal.

PSG are playing a lot better this season than last year. And then they easily became champions. It is actually inconceivable and almost impossible that PSG will not become a champion. And Ramos is now also in the back of the defense. This team can't really be beaten in the competition, unless they have a bad day. There is really no team that comes close. Of course there are teams like Marseille that can beat PSG once, but the difference is often made against other teams. Where Marseille has a hard time and draws 1-1, PSG waltzes over it with 1-6. I would have been happy if Marseille had fought for the title with PSG this season. Then Ligue 1 would have become more competitive. But I think PSG will also win the title very easily this season. Marseille is playing very well right now though. But their squad is not as strong as PSG. Let's see if Marseille can maintain their consistency. But my prediction is that PSG will win the title easily and at least 10 points ahead of the second-placed team.

The current look of the standings wouldn't change anything indeed. Even Marseille can't keep up with PSG throughout the season despite their doing a good job these days. There are some exceptions of course like Lille's incredible season and finishing it as the champions. But it is really difficult to see this kind of changes while PSG are maintaining their superiority to all of the teams in the league.
