This time PSG don't have the luxury of caring less about the Ligue 1 because they have a serious opponent like Marseille for now. As long as Marseille keep up the good form PSG will need to focus on the league at the same time to keep their lead. They need to win until facing Marseille after two weeks in the league. Because Marseille have really easy matches until then and I don't expect them to lose any points in those ones. PSG are lucky that they have three days between their Ligue 1 and Champions League matches. But it is only two days for Marseille.

On the other hand Marseille don't seem like they are caring more about the Champions League now. We can understand this by their losing home against Frankfurt the last time. They wouldn't make any rotation in their lineup in league matches as a result. I think this gap of two points between Marseille and PSG will be kept until their head-to-head.

PSG had plenty of star players last season too. However, their performance was not good. This is because the bonding between the players was not strong. Moreover, PSG's match strategy was weak. Due to this, we don't see consistent performances from PSG despite having many star players in the squad.

It might be true that they were unlucky to have to face Real Madrid early. But I don't think they will be able to get past at least the last 8, because last season almost all the teams that were in the top 8 were favourites. Until now I have not seen a satisfactory performance from Paris Saint Germain in the Champions League. This season has been an opportunity for them because now their players are playing better.

Last season PSG were unlucky because they met Real Madrid and lost in the second leg. I don't think Messi and Neymar are not good, but they can't do much considering the communication between these three strikers is not good enough.

Maybe you are right, Messi and Neymar this season are looking better because there is an increase in performance. Messi admits that this season he was better and last season things were difficult for him.
