What a terrible match it was! PSG and Rennes both were really inadequate when it comes to finding the target. They both had more than 10 shots but only one of them was on target for both of them. PSG barely managed to win by a very late goal by Mbappe. Actually Mbappe scored in the 64th minute but it was disallowed because of offside. But they still managed to win this very difficult match. Messi made another assist in this match and his recent effort is really good. I appreciate Rennes' great effort against PSG also.

It wasn't the most cheerful game today obviously but PSG still got three points with a last minute goal. Rennes was doing good things in defense all game long but they couldn't last one more minute. When you find counter attacks like that you don't have many options. Mbappe's finishing was pretty good, goalkeeper couldn't reach the ball. If it ended in draw PSG wouldn't be hurt that bad but this outcome is definitely hurtful for Rennes. They were so close to get one point. Messi may not score much this year but he help his team to collect three points, that's all that matters.
A very stressful win with injury time goal from Mbappe give them full three points but still win is win because now they are going to face big giant Real Madrid in very crucial match of UEFA Champions League where win is very important for them and just because of this they play like this, but all players were giving their best which is also very important for them as team.With good advantage most chances PSG will win first league, and then they need some very good performance in second for having spot in next round very entertaining matches are going to be played between these two big teams from Europe. Rennes play mostly good because most of the time they were in defence mod, and they were good until last minute goal which give them shock but still they can feel good because result like this is also very good for them, but they can lose their fifth spot with this lost.

Obviously I’m happy Mbappe scored and happy with the assist but having carefully assessed this PSG team, I discovered that they are lacking creative passes like Messi used to get in Barcelona. Only Messi is providing creative passes leading to goals. They can't even make use of narrow spaces for creative passes. it’s becoming very easy to see that there are so many times when other players ignore Messi. Yes I know everyone can be selfish but you can’t exactly criticise his goal scoring numbers when he doesn’t get the ball. Messi hardly receives the ball, they're just playing and ignoring him when he is in the right places. PSG are really painful to watch. When Messi has more assists than goals just know he isn't having nice time.

PSG are doing very great now and they owe the most of this success to Kylian Mbappe I think. He has been so great that he has made the biggest contribution to the team with his goals and assists so far. And they are under the threat of losing Mbappe to Real Madrid now. Because of this, their main goal is to win the Champions League title this season. I don't think that they can achieve this without him if he leaves. And unless they fill his place with one of the best players for that position now.
Although Mbappé is for me the best PSG player who is far above Messi for now, if PSG is intelligent they will not let him go, sometimes a good salary increasing it would guarantee very good results, despite the fact that they have Messi (The Ball Gold) I see that he is much more useful for the Mbappé team than Messi, but the president of PSG is the one who has the power of decision, he has the money, he has everything at his disposal to be able to do what he wants and try to retain one of their best players.

The first half ended goalless for both teams although PSG dominated this match better. Rennes defended well in the first half so PSG was very difficult to score. But the second half may be different even though it looks like Rennes wants to draw in this match and prevent PSG from scoring many goals.
I think it's still possible to expect 2 goals from PSG today against Rennes even though they don't seem to be doing much wrong in defence. This victory is important for PSG considering they will have a big match in the Champions League with Real Madrid in the coming days. There is still hope to see PSG win vs Rennes.
I also expected two goals in the second half but Mbappe kept missing the target and only found it in the last minute of the match, they got the three points but it's not a convincing win before they face real madrid in the champions league, maybe their bodies were on the field today and their brains were thinking about the match vs Real Madrid, because we all know that PSG already won ligue 1. I think it's still possible to expect 2 goals from PSG today against Rennes even though they don't seem to be doing much wrong in defence. Really what's the big deal in Paris saint German's team line up, to be honest, they have world-class players who has left their prime and some younger ones who aren't developing as fast as the game into the scene, so I aren't surprised to see than draw today's game, I think PSG should work on the format they use in buying players, the team is spending much on buying players and also heavy weekly wages but not better than they were seasons ago now.
This time i think its the coaches fault. He aint making any tactics or anything for matches just puts players in and he thinks they are superstars and will just win the game. Its like he is playing an online football manager. They got lucky again and scored in 90+3 minute,Mbappe was able to score with an assist from Messi,they will win this league but for champions league i dont think they will go far at all.

The league is by no means a title that PSG ignore, look how they let it go to other teams last season. This season it looks like PSG are indeed unwavering and so far have not been much of a threat to them which makes their chances of winning the title even smaller. A 13-point lead over Marseille is not a reason for them to relax in the League even though 1 defeat doesn't mean much.

The clear difference is that Lille won it last year and they were happy, but they wouldn't be sad if they finished 3rd and never got close as well. Whereas PSG won it so many times now, maybe first few times was fine but last championship wasn't really a super big deal, this year won't be neither, but last season they were put under fire for losing it. UCL is the where real deal happens for them and that is what they are focusing on, losing wouldn't be big deal but winning would be everything for them.

If you look at previous seasons of the Champions League you will see that you don't have to have the best player in the world or even a top 5 player to win it. Yes, such monsters as Bayern or Real Madrid often win the league, but at the same time such monsters as City remain overboard, and such “labor” teams as Chelsea become champions. Mbappe will change the balance of power in Real Madrid's favor, but PSG will still have Neymar and a lot of other great players who, with some effort, will have no less chance of winning the Champions League than with Mbappe in the squad.
I agree with what you said because it is true that individual players who shine will be defeated by the performance of an 11 man team and it is proven.
Reflecting on the depth of the squad, I can actually say that it is PSG and City who currently have a squad that can be said to be balanced in terms of player quality.
Their substitutes and core players are almost equal in strength although there are some who have more value but it cannot be denied that their quality is quite stable.
But indeed this is not a guarantee either because this is a different class and not talking about individuals anymore

The Champions League will take place in the middle of the week or 4 days after the match vs. Rennes is over. Enough time to recover the fitness of the players in my opinion after today's match. Check the lineup, it looks like Pochettino doesn't want to do a lot of rotation in this match. Messi, Mbappe and other main players started from the first half and I think they are also looking to win.The 24th week in the league has started with the PSG - Rennes game. I doubt he will not include all these players. Maybe not in the beginning but at some point they will play mostly especially if the game turns against them.So far and before seeing the starting eleven, PSG seems favourite but let's not forget that Rennes isn't that bad and can make a surprise
Both Messi and Mbappe are in PSG's starting XI today. But I thought maybe today PSG will rest these two important players. Because in a few days they will play against Real Madrid in the Champions League. Since Mbappe and Mesi are in the squad, I think PSG will be able to win today's match as usual. Both the stars of the team Messi and Mbappe are in the starting lineup against Rennes, so I am guessing PSG could secure the three points in today's match regardless of how good Rennes are, PSG are still better, the coach would probably substitute Messi and Mbappe in the second half if they were leading, so I expect a 2-1 win for PSG against Rennes.

This would have been better if it was discussed on championships league thread. But since it's already here let's discuss. Both teams have good team formation although Real Maldrid have a better way of managing their team compared to PSG except Mauricio Pochettino is willing to do some compromise to make his first leg against Maldrid a sure win. In my opinion i think psg will win this game especially if they play with some subtitues because first they will try and prove their worth so they can play more often and secondly psg manager use almost all players since he has a strong squad so i dont think they will face problems today or even against real madrid. Paris Saint-Germain is different from poor clubs where only great players fill the main player positions, almost all Paris Saint-Germain players are great players. So even if Messi, Neymar or Mbappe do not play in the match against Rennes, they will most likely still win even though it is possible for Rennes to win this match.
