Number 30 = Messi, indeed he didn't take the shirt number of any of his teammates which is a good message for them that we are equal. That number marks his debut in Barca so it will marks also his debut with PSG and his retirement later?
I was surprised myself to have seen Messi with the number 30 shirt, it didn't feel like the best of ideas then, I had to look at it from the angle of cruelty. It would have been a lot more cruel should Messi have taken the number 10 Jersey from Neymar Jnr. Neymar Jnr practically left Barcelona due to the complete dominance of Messi, though he was recognised in much of the games he futured, the glory was often awarded to Messi. He left, to PSG to make a name of his own and then, here is Messi again and as such, taking the number 10 Jersey would have been a bad idea.Funny how a simple number choosing decisions could be interpreted in football, lol!
I never thought Neymar solely left Barcelona because of supposedly being clouded by Mess's shadow, Neymar was highly rated while in Barcelona and even made it to the top 3 finalist for Ballon' D' or. IMO playing along side Messi and Suarez made literally became a better player and such was tip to bet the next successor for the already aging Messi then. Even whenever Messi was out injury, the team usually looked up to Neymar.
Neymar's popularity without doubt practically declined after leaving Barcelona, but now that Messi is PSG player, does that mean Neymar would likely exit the club again ?
