Ligue 1 was already to reach mid season but there was no good progress from Lorient although the league still have 17 matches remaining but i was highly doubt Lorient can able to bounce back and avoiding relegation zone and talking about Lorient upcoming opponent for next month they have tight schedule because they have to fight against tough team Lille and indeed for the first meet Lorient can win with big scores from Lille but with their current condition i was doubt Lorient will be able to repeat that result even most likely they will be lose from this match
The 3 teams currently in the relegation zone are not in good shape. Last season they managed to stay in Ligue 1 but this season they even found it difficult to compete with promoted teams.
but the point difference is still small and it can be caught. Of course, there must be improvements in the Lorient squad if they want to continue in Ligue 1 next season. this is a challenge for them. the situation may be difficult but it is not impossible that they can fight to stay in Ligue 1. They have to perform better in the remainder of this season.

I still don't believe Lorient will continue to slump in the relegation zone and the previous heavy defeat against Brest continues to worsen their position. Lorient can only collect 12 points in 2023 and from 17 matches they have 2 wins, 6 draws and 9 defeats. This is in contrast to the quality of their performance last season, which managed to appear quite consistent and finish in the top 10 of the standings. I don't know whether they can survive this season or not. It is clear that competition will continue to increase to be free from the relegation zone. However, it is clear that Lorient must be able to recover and be able to emulate what Lyon has done by successfully getting out of the relegation zone since the start of this season.

I didn't expect Lorient to be in the relegation zone this season. We saw quite a good performance from Lorient in the previous season as well. But from the beginning of this season, their performance started to decline. Out of 17 matches, the team won only two matches. And yet their performance is very erratic. The poor performance of the defenders is the reason why Lorient is in such a bad situation. Lorient conceded 35 goals in 17 matches. But there is still a long journey ahead. Each team will play 19 matches and Lorient still has a chance to come out of the relegation zone. If Lorient can tighten up their defense then I think the team can get out of the relegation zone. Because their attack is not weak.
If we talking about Lorient this team was got promotion on season 2019-2020 and they can able to survive at Ligue 1 until now although almost for each season Lorient always be hard struggle to avoiding relegation zone but at least Lorient can able to survive in the last 3 season and indeed last season Lorient was reach one of their best achievement during participant at Ligue 1 because at that time Lorient can able to finish at 10th place with collect 55 points from 34 matches but this season i think it's very hard for them to achieve again top 10 position

PSG is still the champion, they always have the strongest squad in this tournament. No opponent can compare with them in Ligue 1. Facing Real Sociedad is said to be "easy" in the 1/8 round of the Champions League, but PSG still appears cautious and highly appreciates the opponent. If they are eliminated in this round, they will spend more time in the domestic tournament, because I think this season they do not have enough strength to conquer the Champions League.
PSG currently leads Ligue 1 2023-2024 after the first leg. In the last eight times they did this, they were all champions. Luis Enrique and his team will have two weeks off before meeting Toulouse in the French Super Cup match.
PSG are Champs in the Ligue One but they can't comprehend the pressure in major tournaments due to their inconsistent performance in matches and this is incurred poor performance from the players and making Luis Enrique looks incompetent of managing the club. PSG have been underrated from day one in the UEFA Champions League competition because they failed to utilized their chance of winning the UCL trophy in the past season and now is definitely not theirs because there's presence of couple of elite clubs that have the UCl title in mind and wouldn't do anything to give up.
all PSG needs is experience in the UCL and even though they often get league 1 titles and lead at the top of the standings, it still won't affect their performance in the UCL because the situation is different. PSG has to fight popular teams that are stronger and as I said, they need a lot of experience in the UCL without having to replace the coach or retain the coach for several seasons gives time for the coach to find out how PSG can get the UCL title and I'm sure at least if PSG can be consistent without replacing players or coaches I'm very confident that getting to the final round is a little easier even though they end up losing but experience very valuable.

this season is not the season for PSG to win the UCL title and it is very impossible like the previous season even though it has star players but the coach is very influential and plays an important role while Enrique is currently still new at PSG and he needs some time to be able to contribute to the right strategy. to be able to take PSG to a higher level.

PSG this season seems to have no competitors to win the Ligue 1 title, they are too strong compared to other clubs. So, I think PSG this season will only focus on the UCL league rather than Ligue 1 because without any hard work they will get the Ligue 1 title this season.

Nice is indeed good this season, but that is not enough to be a competitor to PSG because as you said they are only strong in defense but in scoring goals they are having difficulty. This can be seen from the 17 matches that Nice has played they are only able to score 19 goals, this is small compared to PSG, Monaco, Brest and Lille.
PSG at the moment seem to be enjoying some monopoly in the Ligue 1 been the toughest and the top team at the moment but then it's not enough for them to become lax els they have the likes of Nice and others who will be ready to displace them at the top position almost immediately, they are five points apart which isn't much for nice to cover.

If Nice wwins their next three fixtures, it's very much possible the will be at the top of the table is PSG loose two or three games at a go.so there are still possiblity of other teams getting to the top tho it's slim but then PSG have got the UCL to face so I think when they resume the round of sixteen at the UCL they will be a bit distracted at the Ligue 1 a d that will definitely be an opportunity for others especially NICE who would want to cover up the gapto the top of the table.
It is not easy for other teams in League 1 to break PSG's dominance as long as PSG still has Mbappe and the strong squad PSG has still won the League 1 title. Nice is also a strong club but not as strong, although at first it was able to beat PSG, but Nice is not that consistent winning was different from PSG, which initially was not very stable at the beginning, but at the end it was able to provide strong resistance and now PSG has started to focus on achieving victory after victory to continue to widen the gap with Nice. Moreover, Nice is not that much of a pressure for PSG because PSG knows the club that started it performing well in League 1 did not last long to maintain its performance.

In the 3 matches that Nice will face it seem quite tough, Nice will face Rennes away, Metz at home and Brest away, we all know two of them like Rennes and Brest are quite tough matches because Nice is playing away so we don't can predict with certainty whether Nice can win in 3 consecutive matches, especially if PSG suffers a defeat, it seems that this will most likely not happen because PSG is already on the winning path.

Well, PSG worked hard to be top of the league; so i do not agree that they are enjoying some monopoly. Instead what has PSG done? they have gone from 4 points down the league table to going 5 points clear at the top of ligue 1.

They have taken maximum points when others slipped up and they have done this with a new manager and squad after loosing, Messi, and host of others. This is commendable and worthy of praise and should not be considered a form of monopoly!

The Nice team was able to continue their excellent performance for a long time. But I was sure they couldn't compete with PSG. The main reason for this is the weakness of Nice's attack. Nice team is still second in the table only because of their strong defense. In 17 matches, Nice's players managed to score only 19 goals.

For this year's Ligue 1 title, I consider PSG's main opponent to be Monaco. This group is quite strong. Even then, Monaco is 7 points behind PSG. It seems that PSG can easily win the title this season. PSG boys played well in every match. PSG had a great 3-0 win against Metz.
The defense line of Nice is indeed their fondation for their accomplishment so far. Their ability to maintain an excellent defensive record has been crucial in their winning games and their position in the table. Having a strong defense line gives confidence to the team play their game. However, the concern you raise about the weakness in Nice's attack, particularly the low goal-scoring rate in 17 matches, suggests that their offensive capabilities might be a limiting factor when competing against stronger teams.

However, Competing against PSG in Ligue 1 seems beyond their reach. PSG's strong squad, financial resources, and consistent performances make them a giant force. The 3-0 win against Metz shows their capabilities and underlines their potential to secure the Ligue 1 title. I agree that Monaco is the most potential contender. the seven-point gap between them and PSG suggests that PSG has a considerable advantage at this point in the season. Monaco would need to maintain consistent performance and possibly capitalize on any mistakes from PSG to narrow the gap and mount a serious challenge for the title.

It is kind of strange when you check the table and see a team that hardly scores any goals and yet they are close to PSG. But yes in this case it is the defense that won them their games and then they were also highly efficient with the chances they get. But this instantly equates to lost points when their defense is not on top of everything on a certain day. They sometimes score a few goals, but that is quite rare and they often score a single goal and that was it. If the defense is not perfect on that day, they lose points. That is why I think it would be important to work on their attack.

They took an important step in terms of continuing their performance this year by beating their serious rivals Lens 2-0 in the last match. Nice is currently the best defensive team in this league, but their offensive power is just as bad. They scored 19 goals. In other words, they have statistics as if they won every match 1-0.

This game was also full of implications for the next games. Maintaining the distance to Lens was an important goal for them. When you are among the first three after 17 games then I think it is at least legit to think about plans for the rest of the season.

It's true that it looks really as if they won every match 1-0 and they had 11 games in which they scored either 0 goals or 1 goal. This could become a problem for them, but that's nothing they can change in a snap of a finger.

Passing week 17, Paris Saint Germain can be at the top of the standings comfortably, being 5 points above Nice, the club closest to them. with a 5-point advantage in Ligue 1 it will be very difficult to catch up, especially those who have that advantage are Paris Saint Germain who are the strongest club in Ligue 1.
I think they will be able to continue to be comfortable there. Their focus is on the Champions League, because in the last few seasons the Champions League has been their main goal. But in Ligue 1 itself for them it is easy, because there is no club that can really rival them at this time.  Nice, who were good at the start of the season, have in fact declined and are now below them.
Nice is a contender for the Ligue One title but that doesn't portrayed any threat, they're just enlisted as any othe random mediocre club in Ligue One this season. It's almost the end of the year and there's strong probability of these clubs keeping to stellar performance. There's no club that can stand in the same ring to challenge Paris Saint Germain for the league title this season. It's really tough for these clubs to stand out to face energy with PSG who's on fire this season. Luis Enrique always makes sure he's team doesn't hold back when they face average clubs and they always make good use of their chance.
What they lack is an atacking line that can't score goals, I'm sure if they had a sharp attacking line then they would be above Paris Sant Germain, or at least not as far apart as they are now. They are very strong in defense, but that doesn't mean anything when they don't score goals. So far their defense is the most solid and they have only conceded 9 goals, which is a very good record. But when we look at their attack we will really find their weakness this season. When they lose or get a draw, the truth is that their game is not problematic, it's just that they can't create goals, that's all. They have to make improvements in the attacking line.

I'm not really surprised to see the results that Lorient is currently getting, because they were only able to get pretty good results last season, I consider it luck and coincidence.

Look at their results in previous seasons, in the 2021/22 and 2020/21 seasons they were only able to finish in 16th position. That's not surprising to me because they're a team that came from Ligue 2 promotion. And about Lyon, we don't know what happens next, maybe now they can escape the relegation zone, but when the league restarts, it will be a new challenge for them.
Lorient is surely in deep trouble from start of this season and now things are entered into the worst way because they are facing humiliation and not able to have any recovery sign which is another disasters for them with this performance look like we will find them in relegation zone until end of this season and their golden time is going to end.

There is no sign of recovery at all, even if Ligue 1 restarts they, will face a big problem, namely playing against Lille at Pierre-Mauroy. Of course this will not be easy for them, playing against strong team and acting as away.

FYI, the odds for Lille to win in the next Ligue 1 match are @1.37 while for Lorient to win are @8.2, isn't it clear from the odds that Lorient will get worse in the league? Sad.

A five-point lead is not very safe, especially with the season only having completed half the matches so there are still surprising things that might happen but it's true what you said in Ligue 1 if PSG is already in the lead then it will be difficult for any team to bring them down from the top of the standings because they have more strength than any team in Ligue 1, what can make them fall is when they lose concentration or when they have to divide their focus with other tournaments that are no less important such as the Champions League.
There are four matches in Ligue 1 that they have to play before facing Real Sociedad, and these four matches are quite tough in my opinion, especially when a few days before competing in the Champions League they will face Lillie because in the last two meetings, Lillie was quite troublesome for PSG even though PSG managed to win and draw but they will never take this match easily.
In the Champions League, their journey will never be easy, especially achieving what the club owner hopes for.
PSG are doing well in the French Ligue 1 race, even though it's not as balanced as it ought to. They're a team expected to perform better than they're doing now judging from the performances of previous seasons. They're just a few points ahead and it's very much not buoyant for them as the increase in the league's intensity may unintentionally lead to their drop in position which they as a team shouldn't let to happen.

They've also been able to advance to the round of 16 of the UCL and their Spanish opponent, who's not really a tough side as them but maybe stands a chance to advancing to the next stage. They'll have to be extra prepared for the game ahead. They also have to be careful about their league race. They've got to stay in shape and capacity too. They've got to use the games during the early second half of the season to cover up their tracks and also strive to be far better than Sociedad and even advance to the quarter finals.

I think PSG will keep focusing on the Champions League, where they're starving for triumph. Domestically, they focus on consistency and keeping important players fit for European contests. Nice and the others use it to assess reality, regroup, and improve consistency. The true battle is for second, with PSG likely to win unless something extraordinary happens.
because basically, PSG shouldn't have tough competitors in the French League. Even though several clubs are trying to reach them and perhaps PSG's performance has declined quite a bit, they are still at the top of the standings. We can say that the competition in the French league is not as strong as in other leagues. That's why they have a lot of opportunities to focus more on the Champions League as needed. but what happens is not that easy. because they almost didn't qualify for the previous group phase, almost no. But ultimately they were able to qualify thanks to their victory in the last match which incidentally was certainly very tense. And next, PSG will also play Real Sociedad, so it shouldn't be that difficult if they can really optimize. .

If a club wants to compete with PSG on a fair level, any club would have to invest at least 300 - 400 million to buy new players. Given what the transfer prices are these days, that amount is probably still not enough. The PSG squad is so much more worse that it would be embarrassing if PSG ever fails to win the title. The difference between the clubs is so huge that money does indeed count here. I wouldn't say this if PSG was worth 100 million more because they have Mbappe, but the whole team is extremely far away from all of the other clubs. The Ligue 1 title is an obligation for them.

Lens and Lyon both have good recovery specially from Lens which is currently at seventh and most chances they will keep going for the another UEFA season because their performance is touching good level and Lyon which was also in deep internal trouble now on good way and after winning three matches touching safe zone even still needs more time but most chances next half could be much improved, and they will be in middle of the league table until end of this season.

If Lorient could manage to fix their defence line then they might be able to climb out of the relegation zone. Until then the situation will not improve. Getting beaten by ten goals in three matches is very inconfortable for them and For their fans..
The positive way to see things is the limited gap between the latest teams in the ranking. The other way is the number of top teams that will follow in January or February which contains good teams like Lille and Metz

Last season Lorient had a better playing performance. and indeed this season their defense is very bad. so does their midfield. if you watch the match directly, there will be gaps in their midfield. so it is very difficult to make an attack when they have managed to defend against the opponent's attack. what happens when their midfield is not ready is that they will keep losing the ball and it is detrimental for them to continue to be in pressure situations.
even when they are in an attacking position, many gaps are targeted by opponents who can easily enter to make counterattacks. I think it's not just their defense, there is a lot that needs to be improved in their game.

Yes indeed, Lorient is the only team so far this season that is very easy to concede in Ligue 1 so ya, it is not surprising that Lorient is currently only in the relegation zone. Of course, this result is a bad result for Lorient because it will certainly be difficult to recover, moreover, the pressure they have in the relegation zone maybe make their morale drop too.

But even so, I think Lorient is not a great team and also, Lorient is only a mediocre team which is certainly not always easy to recover. Because after all, even though from the previous few seasons Lorient was not in the relegation zone but ya, the reality is that Lorient is only a team that always competes in the middle of the table. Therefore, then of course the decline experienced by Lorient at this time is still fairly reasonable, because basically Lorient is only a mediocre team.

But in Ligue 1 itself for them it is easy, because there is no club that can really rival them at this time.  Nice, who were good at the start of the season, have in fact declined and are now below them.
The present Ligue 1 situation shows that PSG is in a league of their own. Given their team depth and talent, their 5-point lead at the top is expected. Strangely, Nice has lost their early momentum. Their drop is surprising and shows how far PSG is from the rest of Ligue 1. They started well but couldnt keep up, which is vital in a lengthy season.

In the Champions League they will face Real Sociedad in the round of 16, looking at the opponent in the round of 16 I can still trust Paris Saint Germain, but that does not mean they will be able to win easily, because after all Real Sociedad is a club that counts although maybe not like other clubs like Manchester City or Real Madrid. Real Sociedad are the group winners, and that proves that they cannot be underestimated by Paris Saint Germain. The odds are in Paris Saint Germain's favor, I want to see how they can capitalize on this momentum.
