It is like calling out any weak team from any league for having a bad defense. They are just small teams with very low budgets, so I prefer to judge a defense in relation to the possibilities a team has. From that point of view Lorient was doing ok last season. Monaco is third in the table and conceded 22 goals. In my opinion that makes their defense pretty bad. But conceding 35 goals in 17 games is too hard for any team to deal with and that is why it is bad. If they kept going at this level, they would end up with almost 80 goals conceded by the end of the season, which would be far worse than last season.

I am also surprised by Lorient's poor performance this season. Even though they didn't perform well last season, at least they were able to reach the top 10 in the league. They ended last season with 15 wins. That is still very good when compared to this season, which has only won 2 wins from 17 matches. I agree with you that what Lorient must focus on this season is how to keep them safe from the relegation zone. Lyon has started to show good performance and is out of the relegation zone. I hope a good end to the season for Lorient too.

It's not even surprising me by seeing that if brest was the opponent from lorient in the previous match. It means if lorient has no chance to win against it. Im only saying it caused by brest was fully dominating the match without giving lorient chance to do counter attack.
Lorient is only making 3 goal attempts and squandering all the chances for nothing. Lorient and Clermont are essentially similar in terms of their performance, and it is highly likely that both of these clubs will face relegation due to the lack of improvements.
Either of them has made good improvement. This is really bad for them to be relegated soon.

Yeah Lyon has been of there best performance lately especially the few matches they have played recently they have made quite a good performance, I actually like there performance over Nantes especially when they were issued the red card but they were able to maintain and defend there goal but although I think they are very lucky that they got the red card on there 84 minutes when the match was closed to the ending because if they had received the red card during there early minutes of the match Nantes would have surely use the opportunity to outperform them and win the match.

Those 9 points were vital to say the least for Olympique Lyon and it is interesting so see how many of these teams that struggled early in the beginning of the season did make changes happen and are now back into business. For Olympique Lyon the way is still very long until they can consider themselves safe, but they pull through and get closer to the first half of the Ligue 1 teams? So far there isn't much to play for for them, but Ajax Amsterdam in the Eredivisie has also connected with the top again after this disastrous start.
