Both Barcelona and Atletico Madrid did not make it to semifinals of the Champions League. They were both eliminated tonight after an all time interesting match. The teams that won their first leg matches couldn’t make it to the next stage of the competition. This is how the game of football is, very unpredictable and surprising most times. Let’s see what happens in the semifinals after seeing the teams that will join them in the semifinals after tomorrow’s game.
Yeh to be honest I wasn't expecting such incredible win for PSG because they already have some bad stats back in Camp Nou and they were also lead by Barcelona by single home at thier home ground so looking at thier previous stats no one expects that will won with such huge lead like 4-1 but I think PSG coach Enrique has some tremendous tactics and plan while despite not having  Neymar, messi, Ramos, verrati etc but still he does and finally qualified for semifinals. Now hope so they will face man city or real Madrid in semifinals but currently man city has like more chance because they level the match with 3-3 at Santiago Bernabeu while now at Etihad they are 1-1 so let see how PSG plan to beat these two upcoming monsters. Well it will be a great achievement for Enrique if he got UCL trophy for PSG

PSG's Champions League journey hasn't ended indeed. Araujo's causing a meaningless incident and getting a red card literally gave life to PSG. That 4-1 win is really big however I'm curious about how it would end if there wasn't that red card.  Huh  The reason why I wonder it is that they were 1-0 behind before that red card.

PSG must be able to focus on the Champions League more comfortably normally as they are in safe condition in the Ligue 1 for the title. The other teams near PSG in the Ligue 1 are rather fighting for capturing a Champions League spot now you know. It would be really nice to see Brest there as well.  Smiley
If Araujo had not received a red card, the result of the match would have been different, but PSG had greater luck and they managed to advance to the semifinals to face Dortmund. An impressive journey has been successfully recorded by Enrique and his squad, turning things around and avenging their defeat in the first leg. Now PSG steps to reach the final are very open, of course with the condition that they must be able to get rid of Dortmund first. I personally don't expect PSG to reach the semifinals because in the previous group stage they almost went to the Europa League.

Meanwhile, regarding the competition in Ligue 1 in the future, I think that with the point difference that has been established, it will be difficult for any team to pressure PSG, the Ligeu 1 trophy will soon be theirs again. Sure enough, Enrique will certainly shift his focus more to the Champions League, and they don't need to worry too much because 10 points is a fairly wide number. It seems that PSG will make it to the final round this season, but we'll see, who knows, PSG will be eliminated by Dortmund, and they will only be able to reach the semifinals.

As far as this season is concerned, the French league is settle and as usual, PSG have had their way. Not even the champions league matches will be able to make them miss the trophy because their ten points lead against their closest rival Stade Brestois is not something that can closed with just 5 matches remaining. Where there is serious competition is the fight for the second and third positions between Monaco, Stade Brestois and Lille. They are about the same post and showing almost the same form and this makes it a little difficult to predict teams that will scale through.

Yes, that's right, it looks like if Barcelona still plays with 11 players, it lookslike PSG will also fail to comeback in that second leg. Because after all, Barcelona also managed to score a quick goal in the first half but unfortunately, because Barcelona played with only 10 players, then this factor really caused Barcelona to be destroyed in that match. But yes, because in fact PSG managed to qualify for the semifinals and PSG will play against Dortmund, it is very likely that PSG will be able to beat Dortmund in the semifinal match. Because atleast, PSG clearly has better quality compared to Dortmund and therefore, for now I believe PSG still has a good chance of qualifying for the final match.

PSG's benchmark for coaches is to win the Champions League and Luis Enrique is close to winning the title. PSG might be the favourites in the semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund but it is not certain that they will get it to the finals because the German side also plays quality football. If they are as fortunate as they were yesterday this season might be their year of victory.
The victory they get against Barcelona will create even more motivation for PSG players, now they will be even more enthusiastic because in the semifinals they will face Dortmund and even though it is not easy to win, PSG has a much greater chance of getting to the final. In Ligue 1 PSG does not have too big a burden so they can focus on finishing the match in the semifinals when they face Dortmund.

Winning is quite important because it will provide motivation to win the Champions League this season. Luis Enrique must prove that he can provide something that the previous coach could not provide and if he succeeds then Luis Enrique will be a coach to be reckoned with next season.
From what I have predicted, it is actually very far away when PSG can qualify for the semifinals and have to meet Dortmund which clearly provides a big opportunity for PSG to qualify for the final round.
Mbappe, as PSG's mainstay player, is definitely more confident in being able to help PSG win a prestigious title this season before he leaves PSG.
All the players will definitely feel very proud and have very strong confidence in being able to overcome the obstacles that Dortmund will present.
This a great opportunity for PSG to really take advantage of the best opportunity to win the Champions League title and I think this will be a historic season for PSG.

Actually I no that PSG has been doing really well on this French league and there is no any other club that can easily challenge them on the French league trophy but one thing we must know is that champions League is far tougher than this French league and the clubs on the champions League are mostly those clubs that are more experience than PSG, however I agree with you that their match between Borussia Dortmund could turn out on their favour but nothing is certain for them, so the best thing PSG can do now is to ready all their players so that their would not be any mistake on that match because any little lapses could result them on losing the match just like in the case of Barcelona.

However in terms of PSG wining the champions League this season I doubt if it will be possible because like I already mentioned their are more good candidate than PSG on the champions League, don't get me wrong I'm not against PSG wining the champions League but truth be told they have a very small chance of wining it because I'm seeing Bayern Munich, Bayern Leverkusen or Manchester City as the clubs that has a very good chance of wining the champions League

A good performance from PSG and it seems this time they won the Champions League match without of having superstar players like Neymar or Messi to spend too much money for them which wi much better than the situation of PSG in the last season.
In fact, they got better teamwork with a better coach instead of spending money on expensive players and I think the reason for PSG beating Barcelona
However, they were lucky because Araújo's red card changed everything otherwise Barcelona could beat PSG.

Superstars alone can't win the game if the rest of the team doesn't play well. Remember, football is a game of 11 men against 11 men, not 3 - 11. PSG didn't win with superstars because whole team wasn't performing well together. Messi's transfer was more likely a marketing attempt to be fair.
Btw you don't need superstars to win the game. Bayern Munich didn't have any superstars but was always beating Barcelona like it was a team of beginner players. PSG doesn't have superstars except Mbappe that are at Messi's and Neymar's level but it's still full of very talented players. I like Dembele very much, he is one of the most amazing universal winger that I have ever seen and he played a huge role in PSG's winning yesterday and scoring in the previous match.

PSG have secured a place in the semi-finals and later they will face Dortmund to reach the Champions League final, for now of course PSG no longer have the burden after locking a ticket to the semi-finals and certainly they will be more focused on maintaining their performance in Ligue 1, although now PSG's position has been very secure in Ligue 1 but I think they will certainly still chase victory to be able to celebrate the championship Ligue 1 is faster this season.

PSG beat Barcelona in the second leg of the Champions League yesterday, so can we say if their mentality has improved and become favourites to win the UCL this season?
I don't think we can say if PSG will be favourites to win the UCL, because I think PSG's victory in the second leg is inseparable from the red card obtained by Barcelona in that match, so it benefits PSG to beat Barcelona and I think if Barcelona still play with 11 players it is certainly not impossible for us now to see Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals.
The championship competition has long ended for other teams in Ligue 1, so now other teams in Ligue 1 are only to competing for a tickets Champions League next season, while the Ligue 1 trophy competition has long been only a dream for other teams besides PSG.

I think when Chelsea won the Champions League twice of course at that time they were no longer considered a mediocre team, because as I recall, when under Abramovich's ownership, Chelsea have turned into a strong team in the league and even then they had a pretty fantastic squad, so it would be wrong to say Chelsea at that time was a mediocre team that surprised a lot of people.  For now, in terms of squad, of course PSG and Manchester City are almost equal, but in terms of a winning mentality, of course we cannot compare the two teams.

PSG have now secured a place in the Champions League semi-finals and I think they were lucky enough to turn things around in the second leg yesterday, we all consider PSG a strong team and deserve to compete in the Champions League but to win the Champions League of course we still have to doubt them because so far the mentality possessed by PSG is not as big as Manchester City and Madrid,  The beating and comeback from Barcelona is of course incredible, but are you sure if PSG would have beaten Barcelona if Araujo not get shown a red card?
I think it has nothing to do with ownership, I mean of course Abramovich definitely made that team better, but that doesn't mean that current ownership is not trying, they are trying their very best and putting all their money into it, look at how much they have spent already and they are still not doing great.

I think that type of problem is not regards to ownership, because what owners could do right now would be something that could benefit that and should be something that betters in the end. I believe that manager has more to do with their situation and I believe that they are not doing well but Ted has nothing to do with it, he is trying his very best and he is doing whatever he can to make that team better.

I don't think as like you. It is true that the PSG team is a bit behind compared to Manchester City or Madrid. However, it cannot be said for sure that PSG will lose against these teams. We saw a few years back when the Chelsea team won the Champions League title. Chelsea were a mediocre team. Even then, this team won the Champions League title by surprising everyone.

PSG team is not as strong as City or Madrid. But right now I can't say that PSG have no chance of winning the title. PSG played very well in yesterday's match against Barcelona. PSG's match strategy was very good. With the help of Luis Enrique, this team is now very stable. So PSG also has a chance to win the title.
In the quarter-finals and semi-finals, teams have the opportunity to play two games, home and away, so they can correct in the second match what they failed in the first, as PSG did yesterday, but in the final everything is different, there is only one match, that's why Chelsea was able to do it. PSG dominates Ligue 1, they have no worthy competitor, so it is difficult to understand how strong they are relative to other leaders in other championships. Maybe City and Real are stronger, but in one match of the final anything is possible.

Playing against Barcelona in the quarter-finals is actually an advantage for PSG because Barcelona's performance is different from Real Madrid, Manchester City and also Bayern Munich. If PSG faced one of these favorite clubs, of course PSG would be eliminated early, but luckily PSG got an opponent that was quite equal so it wasn't a problem which was too big for PSG, even though they suffered defeat at home in the first leg, this did not make the players mentally give up. Teamwork was highly prioritized in taking advantage of the situation when Barcelona only played with 10 players, which made Barcelona lose control and become an opportunity for PSG to achieve victory in the second leg.

Maybe if Barcelona didn't lose their defender, the possibility that would happen would be to achieve a draw and Barcelona would still qualify for the semifinals, but fate said otherwise, Barcelona had to suffer the misfortune of having their player get a red card in the 29th minute, making the PSG players even more enthusiastic about fighting Barcelona. Xavi himself felt that he didn't accept the referee's decision and he was very angry, but what else can the decision be done? Barcelona must accept the fact that they have lost in this round, and PSG is the one who has qualified for the semifinals and we'll see if PSG is able to reach it final and beat Dortmund.
Barca experienced a huge defeat infront of their fans and this is really disappointing as it comes in a time that the club is in a trying time financially. Also at this stage, the club is also experiencing a hard time in trying to talk Xavi to still remain in the club and this loss comes as a big one for the club.

Now the club is out of the UCL which could have helped the club be able to raise some finances should incase the need for hiring a new coach arises. This frustration could linger on and probably affect the club’s performance over the weekend if the club’s management doesn’t handle the situation well.

PSG attack weren’t a match for Barca in any way and the red card already made the defense line of Barca short of one man as against the speedy attack of the PSG attack. Well the result was a big one and I understand the anger of both Xavi and the fans as they never expected such especially in their home ground.

The board should try to manage this situation well and on time and try sourcing for other means of getting funds because the financial state of the club will be one of the main reason Xavi might want to depart as he might not be able to sign the required players to help him in his formation for the club. This is a very trying time for both the club and her fans and we wish them luck and hope they come out of this well.

Barcelona played above expectations this season and I think they deserve congratulations. Araujo's early red card broke the whole order. He has problems with this. I remember he received a red card again in another important match. Maybe he shouldn't play so hard in big games. As a result, these mistakes helped PSG advance to the next round.
I agree with you because in a critical check of all these things, you will agree with me that Barcelona actually did their best and PSG owe their victory to Barcelona's red card els i doubt if they would have been able to really get such resounding victory over Barcelona considering how they were won in the first leg were Barcelona actually had their goals very early at the beginning of the game in the first half.

Arahjos red card didn't affect Barcelona so badly because he was a very vital player but because it was a game that had enough pressure already and they were playing from home so they couldn't cope well with the pressure exerted on them to win with a man down, i feel their mentality, morale and confidence was actually in a .was and they just couldn't help it as it got to them and even in their performance they literally did showed that they were seeming to accept loss even before they lost, PSG on the other had need to be applauded for proper and adequate use of the opportunity they got.

It was actually very possible they would have been unable to do anything with that opportunity that was been given them in that game and then they would have still lost and not been able to proceed to the semi finals because if Barcelona had three goals in that game they would have definitely qualified while PSG would have crashed out of the champions league but then they made sure to score more goals while they conceded less goals.

After winning with PSG in the Champions League, Mbappe's future is still a hot topic of discussion and he has also said in interviews about his future decisions and that will not change the fact that he will still leave at the end of the season. What will happen to PSG if they lose their star player and maybe Ligue One will be quiet because they lost their icon.
I think Mbappé's focus now is how to win individual awards and PSG might not be a viable place to get awards like Ballon d or. Real Madrid will be the best place for him to get the award. Players will go and come but the league will continue to flourish and be exciting. PSG will get another player who will replace the French international. No player is irreplaceable in football because more talents are discovered everyday.

one of the surprises that benefited PSG this season and with this very happy result, Enrique really feels challenged to try to be sure of getting the UCL title this season because in the next UCL match he will have an equal opponent against Dortmund and if Enrique is able to manage the PSG players well will definitely be able to win to qualify for the final round.
this season, perhaps not only Enrique but all PSG players have become more confident, even though most people previously doubted that PSG would fail, luck is on this team's side and I'm sure that as long as the coach can consistently rotate his players well, they will definitely qualify to the final round but not necessarily able to get the UCL title.

I think that as a wise PSG fan, Mbappe's decision to leave Paris next season will not make PSG fans hate Mbappe. We know Mbappe is one of the best strikers in the world. And his dream since childhood was to play for Real Madrid. Mbappe is also still young and he is still very ambitious to win many championship titles and individual awards in the future. I think his decision to leave PSG will be difficult for PSG fans to accept but of course they have to understand that Mbapee may want to play in a higher and more competitive league. PSG never lacks money to pay Mbappe but Mbappe wants to make a lot of history in the world of football like his idol Cristiano Ronaldo did.

We have fighting matches in the UEFA Champions League this season. Barcelona are out while PSG advance to the semi final, it's been really a trailing moment for Les Parisiens this season. Paris Saint-Germain knows how to beat their opponents with a man down. Luis Enrique took it upon himself to make things right since his team dissapointes everyone in the first leg of the quarter final but this time, they know the club's leaving and the ones qualifying for next phase.

It is clear that this will still be a loss not only for PSG but also for all Parisians who will miss Mbappe and he will play his last match with PSG this season. We already know where his future lies next and of course it will increase his career performance at a higher level in winning individual titles or trophies. What is clear is that this season we will witness Mbappe lifting the Ligue One title for the last time and at the same time trying to take PSG to the final round of the Champions League. this season we will witness Mbappe lifting the Ligue One title for the last time and at the same time defending PSG in the Champions League.

However, they were lucky because Araújo's red card changed everything otherwise Barcelona could beat PSG.

In the end the game found the right winner although I think everyone agrees that the red card changed a few things and the move by the Barcelona defender couldn't have been more stupid and reckless as that. He knew that if he attacks full speed in that position, it is going to be a red card. He should have stopped the attack in the very last moment as the only chance Barcola had was to give the ball an uncontrolled touch. With that ter Stegen could have intervened and stopped the attack or at least would have had a good chance to defend the ball as Barcola was hardly going to have the time for a concentrated attempt at that speed.

But still I think that PSG had good chances to win the game anyway as they were in full control even before Barcelona scored the first goal. Now they have great chances to get into the final as Dortmund isn't the strongest opponent.
It cannot be denied that PSG won because one of the Barcelona players made a mistake and received a red card, allowing PSG to control this match and turn things around.
However, whatever happens, now PSG has managed to advance to the semifinals and I will not overreact to this because the journey is still very long and in terms of percentage to win the Champions League, the PSG team is not much bigger than other teams.

This victory seemed like there was an element of luck for PSG because the Barcelona team made mistakes and PSG was able to maximize that very well.
