Completely agree with you. Indeed, Lionel Messi failed to bring PSG to win the UEFA Champions League, but Lionel Messi does not deserve to be treated like he is not appreciated. I saw some news a lot from Ultras PSG who don't like it. if Lionel Messi is not appreciated, of course this will greatly affect his appearance. I think Lionel Messi wasn't too bad when he was with PSG, Messi became the top assist in the league, the second top scorer at PSG this season, but instead got that treatment from PSG ultras.
Messi is only one player and he can not bring PSG to Champions League. To win Champions League, PSG must win it as a strong team which they are not. I agree that PSG performance in Champions League becomes worse with Messi in the two latest seasons but I disagree to blame those bad performances on only Messi.

If PSG midfield and defensive areas are weak, Messi and other attacking players can not bring PSG to Champions League trophy. I agree that Messi performance is not too good but it's not his responsibility for PSG poor performances. Other players and coach must share part of responsibility together with Messi.

Quote
Messi's story at PSG, Like Ronaldo when he moved from Man United. The story is almost the same. Hopefully Messi can get a place and a good and appreciated club and supporters. Ronaldo has moved to Arabia. And Messi will follow Ronaldo to Arab lands or will he return to Barcelona.
He will have to choose to stay in Europe to enjoy world class football or move to Saudi and enjoy money. Messi might return to Barcelona for 2 seasons and the rest of his career can be in Saudi. I believe next 2 or 3 years, if Messi won't retire, he will receive offers from Saudi.

PSG had a good performance prior to signing big names to the club, but they immediately changed styles of football, making more mistakes and spending a lot of money on player salaries. Normally, the club is standard and winning games, but their only problem is failing to match strength with elite clubs in top competitions such as the UEFA Champions League. PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, have no aspirations to altered the 56 years old Christophe Galtier. PSG is a top-flight club in Ligue One; even in their poorest form, they won the league. One thing I've come to noticed is that the absence of one character can not decreased the performance a team, the parisians have been performing well despite stepping in Leo Messi who they anticipated would give them the UCL, but they now realized all they need is talented serious squad of players, who are 100% determined to face their challenges and a good gaming strategy.

With Messi leaving, PSG will lose power, we can all guess. He hasn't had a bad performance this year. The fact that he will leave the team has undoubtedly made it necessary to reinforce the team. On the other hand, if Mbappe leaves the team, it will be a very weak PSG offensively. They may have to spend serious money to fill this gap. I'm very curious about next year's PSG offensive line.
What's the point of spending a lot of money when you get the same result every year. That simply mean they are doing it the wrong way.
PSG needs good talented players that are consistent in their performance, not too much injured like Neymar, not old as Messi, with all respect to what he did with the team this year.
PSG will spend for new players for sure this summer, hopefully they can add something to the team.

Mbappe is a very good and quick player and the star has enough finishing skills. And he has performed well enough for PSG club. Mbappe's contribution behind winning many matches is huge. But despite doing well in PSG club or scoring more goals, this star is not able to shine his career. Because PSG club has always failed to perform well on any big stage. No matter how well a player performs, if his team does not do well in any tournament, then there is no point in playing well from that team. If you change the club and go to a good club, you will see the success of the team and your career will be very bright. Maybe he can earn a lot of money at PSG but he won't get the respect he deserves as a footballer.
PSG failed to live up to expectations; they are a major club, and fans expect to see the Parisians lift significant trophies; but, despite being designated Ligue One champions, they lack confidence in competing in top competitions such as the Champions League. I'm more concerned about the Frenchman; he understands what he needs to do to win the Ballon d'Or; he looks for exits and moves to Real Madrid, wins the UCL title, and already possesses the Russia 2018 World Cup in his trophy cabinet, so his odds of winning the Ballon d'Or exceed 80%. Kylian Mbappe shone brighter than any other PSG player, and he's also stringent salary earner in the club and Ligue One.
One of the things they should improve is starting from the transfer.
Bringing in old players like Sergio and Messi before is quite good but in terms of competition they are certainly hampered by age so in this case they have to try new things by looking for fresher players of course.
Fan expectations are very high for PSG but they always make conditions where they bring in something that is actually normal like an old coach or player.
Improvements need to be made here if indeed their expectations are greater than just Ligue 1.

Unfortunately, yes, my wish did not come true and Nice defeated Lyon, allowing them to score only one goal. But PSG once again showed their instability and lack of will - I think it's rather embarrassing to lose the last game of the season at the home stadium, and after there was a comfortable 2-0 score.
Formally, the gap from second place was only one point, and even if it is clear that PSG controlled everything, everyone expects more from such a club. To some extent, this is similar to the title of Bavaria - with a large admixture of unpleasant emotions.

I think we all understand from this type of performance of PSG that they are not worth anything else other than the Ligue 1 title. The Champions League is way away from PSG. It does not matter if they buy the best players in the world and make the best team they are not going to win the Champions League trophy.

If they are so inconsistent in Ligue 1 where they hardly have any competition and lose against a team that is far weaker than them, how can we expect them to achieve something big?

Mbappe should leave PSG if he wants to save his career. Otherwise, he is going to get caught up too much in the money. I know that PSG is going to win the title. Actually, they already have. But the control that you are talking about I believe was not there, to be honest.

Mbappe is already 24 years old, he is a world champion and it is obvious that at the next World Cup he will be the top 1 scorer in the history of this tournament (I don’t think it will be a problem for him to score 5 goals especially given the new format), while he does not have even Ballon d'or and in general, his individual qualities are rather ignored than adequately rewarded. And all this because he stayed in the French swamp. If he does not leave in the next couple of years, then new young stars will bypass him.
As for PSG, this is a dead project - they need to build a team again, I don’t believe that they could lose this title (the lead over competitors was always big and only at the finish line it was reduced when it didn’t matter), but in Europe, PSG doesn’t look like a top club. They are no better than Benfica.

I do agree that PSG was a let down but that doesn't mean that they are too late for anything neither. Look at the main core of the club and you will realize that they still have a decent team but that doesn't mean that we are talking about something that still has a potential which is why I believe that they will win that UCL one day or another.

Doesn't need to be next year, but Mbappe is still very very young and that's why I believe that even if it takes 10 years, they can still win one. They would rather win multiple ones when they have him, obviously that would be great and they rushed into getting great players and winning right away, but that doesn't mean that it has to happen. I think it is important to take their time and build a good core that can play long years together.

The main goal of Messi's PSG club is to win the UCL trophy. Since they already had Neymar and Mbappe in the team, they wanted to strengthen the attacking department with Lionel Messi but their expectations were not met because they shook up their defense department while strengthening the attacking department and the midfield is not talked about. Winning trophies like UCL will not only require strengthening the attacking department but also ensuring that every position is well positioned which PSG failed to do. This club may have suggested leaving Messi because they cannot play the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League even with such an expansive player in their team.

As a footballer, it's always important to feel valued and supported in order to settle down with your family then you truly enjoy your football. Unfortunately, it seems that the Parisian club wasn't able to provide that environment for Messi. Despite having such an expensive player on their team, they consistently underperformed on the UEFA Champions League stage due to poor management and proper maintenance of the department. As you pointed out, their defense was particularly vulnerable throughout the season and they completely underestimate that. This just goes to show that money alone can't guarantee success overnight. It takes a combination of factors, including strong leadership, teamwork, and careful planning to create a winning team at every stage of football tournaments.

So I don't think Lens will set too big a target next season in the Champions League because they are aware that the strength they have is not too strong to compete with other clubs who have great players and mentality in the Champions League.

Your conclusion makes sense, but nevertheless every team will try to do their best because there is a prize at stake every game they play. Lens also have good form as a competitor, but of course they don't look like the best contenders in the Champions League because other top teams tend to have strong chances and mentality.

In addition, Lens do not have much experience in the Champions League which means they will return home early after the group stage. But anything can happen, maybe next season will be different even though Lens' chances are very low.

I admit betting for Lens so far I often get wins as well as profits so it doesn't disappoint me while betting in Ligue 1 because so far Lens has performed very well with their best players.
I admit that Lens is one of the great teams and can always be relied on in every game but to be honest I can only get a few benefits because I rarely risk it.
Maybe those of you who often follow matches from the French League, especially when Lens is playing, can get a lot of benefits when betting it.
But I myself prefer when those who play PSG are going to bet because it tells me the chances of winning are quite large.

Betting on PSG even though it has a great chance of winning, but the odds that you get will of course be lower. At least, that is also a matter for consideration and requires us to look for other options to get higher odds. But yes, as long as you are used to and comfortable doing this, then of course there is nothing wrong because after all, in the end you also feel happy with the wins you get for betting on matches played by PSG.
I don't think it's a bad choice if we bet on PSG, who often can make money easily, but sometimes PSG also finds it difficult to win even though it's clear they should be able to beat the opponent they are facing. Apart from that, this season they have also been less consistent and of course many bettors have lost money. But not always betting on PSG can make us safe, sometimes we have to be able to choose other betting options such as over/under goals because after all, every match they face sometimes doesn't go the way we want and of course the odds are much more decent than betting completely on PSG.

From now on one of the things I'm curious about the most is what Lens will do next season. I mean especially in the Champions League.  Smiley  Because Lens appeared in the Champions League only twice in their history - one was in 1990s and the other one was in 2000s. It has been a long time so we can call them inexperienced there.
Lens will try to enjoy what they have achieved this season, playing in the Champions League is the dream of many clubs and it is also a great achievement for Lens, so what they can do is continue to play like this season. It's not surprising for me for a club that doesn't subscribe to playing in the Champions League, so the target they want to achieve is definitely not too big and maybe just getting to the group stage or the last 16 is extraordinary.

They need to keep their most valuable players in the team above all else. Fofana and Openda are the names who are really important to the team now. Openda's 21-goal contribution was a big factor helping them reach the Champions League group stage. Moreover they had better reinforce the weakest areas with the right transfers to be ready.

Then maybe they can do something worth watching there and they can even keep being consistent in the Ligue 1 also.
Apart from retaining Fofana and Openda, Lens must also look for several new players in the transfer market due to the tight schedule of matches they will face next season, so the strength of the core and reserve players must also be as good. If Lens wants to compete with PSG in the title race in Ligue 1 and in the Champions League. Players like Full Back and Center Back are probably the most needed or can be adjusted according to the players currently owned, so that their defense is more solid next season.

So I don't think Lens will set too big a target next season in the Champions League because they are aware that the strength they have is not too strong to compete with other clubs who have great players and mentality in the Champions League.

expectations were too high for Messi so that when it didn't live up to expectations then he was considered a failure even though actually if you look at his statistics with PSG it wasn't too bad but because he was brought in to be able to become a superstar in the team of course it was a little disappointing but I think considering Messi's age who are not young anymore it is very reasonable.

Messi's departure will not have any effect on PSG in my opinion, in fact this way can make the PSG team more flexible to find a replacement.
Neymar and Mbappe are already very good up front, they just need to find the right partner and also improve the defense sector and also the midfield.
the PSG team is very strong in the French league but on the European stage they are still mediocre and it takes a process and also a longer time for them to be respected on the European stage.

Could you explain what those expectations were? I saw a Messi who made among the most scorer points in Ligue 1 within one season. What did people expect from him besides being a top scorer? He was brought in to become a superstar? I think a superstar was brought in in order for his team mates to become superstars. He did his job and if anyone expected that he will be as much on fire as he was for Barcelona, I think people don't understand how the business works. Who can expect from Ronaldo that he feels as much passion for Al-Nassr as he felt for Madrid and Manchester United during his first term? This is nonsense and in my opinion Messi did a great job for PSG.

Im really sad about what happened with messi in his last match with psg, despite what happened and what he did this player stay a treu legend and he don't deserve such humiliation, also he is not the reason of the club failure in the champoins league because this team is having troubles in this competition even before messi joined the club

Messi has finished his career in french league with so many drama. finally, he was leaving from the club.

I think that i shall remind you if the main target from PSG to bring messi to the french league to help the club in winning UCL. It has become the main target and messi has played in UCL with PSG for two seasons in a row.
So far, there's no good news that achieved by PSG other than always losing to another big club. I do know that if the problem in PSG alredy exist even before messi was coming the club but PSG director was putting all of the hopes to the messi would able to make the club to win UCL.

I guess winning UCL is not easy as bringing the stars player to the club by giving him huge amounts of contract.

We have reviewed this many times regarding PSG's failure in the Champions League. we review a little, the presence of Messi brings fresh air to the PSG team squad. However, two seasons later with PSG, they were never able to win the trophy that PSG management has always dreamed of. the problem is not with Messi, he has been giving his best especially this season. unfortunately, there was a lot of drama and polemic that happened whether it was in the locker room or other non-technical issues. Now, Messi has left PSG. maybe Neymar will follow, Ramos also seems certain to leave. plus, in the next few days Galtier will be fired as reported by Frabizio Romano.

Now, PSG's new round will begin. unfortunately, again, PSG's management always brings in new players before bringing in a coach. Currently, Marco Asensio and Manuel Ugarte have been confirmed to join PSG. IMO, what PSG did was the same mistake repeated. before they bring in players, PSG should hunt for prospective coaches. however, what the PSG management did was the opposite. should, PSG sack their technical director as well and not just Galtier. plus, Nasser Al Khelaifi doesn't need to get involved in bringing in players.

Now rumors, Julian Nagelsmann is predicted to be the most potential coach candidate. supposedly, before PSG confirms the arrival of players, they first confirm who the coach is. that way, the coach can be fair in selecting players according to the system and his wishes. So, the question is whether Nagelsmann is willing to become a PSG coach.

Winning the France League title is a regular occurrence for PSG but their main target is the Champions League trophy which they have so far failed to win. They kept players like Mbappe and signed big name players like Messi to their club only to win Champions League trophy but to no avail. The team was eliminated early in the Champions League after losing to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.  Until now they believed that they can win the Champions League trophy but now they may not have that belief because Lionel Messi has left the club, Neymar may leave PSG and Mbappe is likely to be signed by Real Madrid. Sergio Ramos may join the Saudi League. If these key players of the team are gone, it will be difficult for them to win the league title.

I don't know if Neymar can find himself a team in Europe at the moment. His contract expires in 2025 so interested teams have to pay a transfer fee as well. The reason why I stated it is that his market value is still 70 million euros. Of course PSG wouldn't demand that much for a 31-year-old player. But I wouldn't expect them to demand less than 40-50 million euros anyway. Moreover as far as I know his current salary is 36 million euros per year which is an enormous sum.

I don't know if there would still be a team to be okay for meeting all these demands. Hence I expect him to stay here for a long time unless he gets an offer from outside Europe. As for Mbappe I don't expect him to leave this summer either. But for next season it is doubtful. If PSG fail in winning the CL title again then maybe we might see him at Real Madrid right after that.
English clubs Manchester United and Chelsea have expressed interest in Neymar and they want to sign Neymar knowing that they will have to pay a fee. And Neymar had a good offer from the Saudi league but he turned it down because he wants to stay in Europe for now. If all goes well, Neymar will be moving to Manchester United very soon.

Mbappe came close to signing a deal with Real Madrid last season but in the end PSG agreed to all his terms and kept him at the club with a huge salary cap. But Mbappe has realized this season that if he doesn't leave PSG, he will never win the UCL trophy and never win the Ballon d'Or. A footballer's dream is to win the Ballon d'Or. I hope this time Mbappe will focus on his career instead of being greedy for money.
Mbappé is a really great player. Mbappe has played a significant role in the success that PSG has achieved so far. In fact, Mbappe is an incredibly fast player. This player has to be praised.

Making money is not an issue. For Mbappe, success is more important. I think he is upset and wants to leave because he couldn't do that in Paris SG. Because Paris SG fails on big stages. Like they were eliminated at UCL this year. Mbappe, on the other hand, showed how hungry he was in the world cup final. Despite losing his team, he finished second in the world, but Mbappe was very upset. Even the top scorer award he received did not make him happy. Maybe that's why he can leave Paris this year.

What you like is actually quite natural, because everyone also knows that the strongest team in Ligue1 is PSG, even though Lens has almost matched PSG this season, but in general Lens is still not as strong as PSG. Apart from that, opponents who are too weak are also the reason for most people when they want to bet on matches in Ligue1, because in Ligue1 there are not many strong teams so it's easier to place bets when PSG is playing.

PSG's performances have been very erratic this season. This is why PSG's points gap with Lens was low. Moreover, Lens' performance has been very good this season. The important thing is that Lens has lost only 4 matches this season. On the other hand, PSG has lost 7 matches this season. Lens players played great. And I would say that if Lens can maintain this form next season, Lens has a good chance of winning the title. Because next season PSG's performance is likely to be unstable.

Mbappe? he was not as big as messi. Messi has a very big fanbase after CR7. The gone of messi will be also giving huge impact to the PSG. It will be getting less income from merchandise, etc.
The impact that will be given by messi to the PSG is really big. I wonder how PSG will be able to fix it. I see no chance for PSG now to prevent the traffic that already got by its club will be decreasing a lot.

That's why laporta wants messi back again caused by he will able increasing the income from barcelona.

Mbappe is indeed a very talented player known for his pace finishing skills and significant contributions to PSG. Admittedly Mbappe individual achievements have been somewhat overshadowed by Paris Saint Germain defeat on the big stage. While player performance matters team success often plays a vital role in shaping a player career and earning them the respect they deserve. A move to a strong and successful club could give Mbappe the chance to showcase his skills on a bigger platform and potentially achieve greater success. Despite the financial benefits of staying at PSG chances of being recognized as a football superstar may require a change of scenery.
