The match between Rennes against Monaco looks like it will be a very interesting match and of course an important match for both of them, because Rennes and Monaco are still in competition to finish in fourth and fifth positions. Also, the gap in points between Moncao and Rennes is three points but there is Lille in between them.
I personally still don't want to imagine and/or calculate their points mathematically, because of course whoever wins will have a very good chance of staying in a better position. Therefore, of course, the match between Rennes against Monaco this weekend might be able to determine their position until the end, it is very interesting to look forward to.
The game is an important match for both teams. A win for Monaco will give them an automatic Europa League slot but a loss can take them out of any European competition totally. Rennes has a better goal difference (27), while Monaco has (15) so a win for Rennes will take them to the same points as Monaco with a greater goal difference. Which means they will displace Monaco from the fourth position. All these analyses will also depend on the outcome of the game between LOSC and Nantes.
That is one of the reasons and also one of the factors why Ligue 1 is neither attractive nor competitive from other top leagues. Now Paris Saint Germain's financial ability is far from the other clubs that are here, that's what makes it difficult for them to make at least their strength equal to Paris Saint Germain. For example, we can see how they are in the Champions League, with in fact the opponents they face have the same strength, even more than Paris Saint Germain, they can't even speak more in the Champions League by repeatedly failing in that competition.
I thought things will change in the French League this season but it turned out to be the same old PSG-dominated league. Until other League One clubs have access to the kind of funds PSG have, they will not compete with them effectively. More investors maybe from the middle east need to be attracted to league one to give them the needed financial backup to sign world-class players that will compete with the squad in PSG.
