Indeed. Bitcoin doesn't have a central authority promoting it.  Instead, Bitcoin depends on the businesses and people already using it to get the word out.  This grassroots kind of marketing lets Bitcoin grow more naturally as people and companies talk about why they like Bitcoin and how it helps them and  it's not like some big advertising campaign shoving Bitcoin at you.  The businesses who take Bitcoin or use its technology have a stake in seeing it succeed, so they want to spread the news about how Bitcoin can benefit people.  This means Bitcoin catches on because people actively choose to start accepting and using it, not because some central power forced it on everyone all at once.  The decentralized nature of Bitcoin puts its promotion in the hands of the users, and that's how it should be.

Yes, we have survived the first decade without any promotions, hence that why in the beginning there are a lot of attacks on bitcoin and calling it names. But I guess this makes Bitcoin more stronger, as they keep on attacking it even at this point, we don't bother by it and just continue to buy and accumulate and now we have a country that make its legal. But if there are individuals who are going to promote it, let's say Michael Saylor, obviously he has some narrative behind. He is one of the biggest whales so far, so indeed he has to make a sales pitch whether he can, be it in his social media or going out in public to talk about BTC. But for us just average joe and ordinary investors, we might cross path with other people that might ask questions regarding Bitcoin and answer them the with the knowledge that we have. However, it's not a direct promotion, we will simply want people to discover it and hopefully make the (right) decision to invest.

Those whale investors like Michael Saylor, Elon Musk, and Mark Zuckerberg somehow use their power of influence to convince a lot of people to believe in the belief that they have in Bitcoin. And this is also a point for our crypto enthusiasts too, at least for the reality of the things that are happening so far.

No promotion has happened in a decade, but you will be surprised that Bitcoin still remains at the top of the market in the cryptocurrency business. So, of course, the other investors who are new will be surprised and invest quickly because they will think and know that many big companies and billionaire people are investing in Bitcoin. It's because of something like that that they are immediately convinced to invest long-term in Bitcoin, to be honest, and learning about bitcoin just follows for them.

Is there some group which collects funds for Bitcoin promotion? If some group like this can create advertisements for Bitcoin, more people can become aware. Such mediums should be targeted which have reach on audience that is still not familiar with crypto.

They don't need to make an advertisement with the bitcoin, and they don't need to call the attention of everyone with the bitcoin because even though its happened already some of the people, communities or country are still close to the use of the bitcoin so you can't push them throughout, at the first place they didnt benefit too much if they make an advertisement with the small target audience if they want to make changes they need to have widely spread with the large companies or organization that adopt this Bitcoin, but again the main goal of the bitcoin becomes decentralized so expect once most of the people adopt this the platform we are using now are regulated with the centralized platforms because they need to have an approval with SEC additional with it is the Tax or the fees you are need to pay.

I also think that it worked that way because Bitcoin does not need to be looking for publicity, and the people it knows and has, well, they are the ones who are lucky, those who still do not know about bitcoin and are rejecting it. It's a matter of them doing it, I don't think they have to do a lot of advertising if there are always going to be enemies of bitcoin like governments and banks, they don't allow advertising, so those of us who make bitcoin advertising more attractive are us. More so because we can reach people who had not heard anything about bitcoin before and that is Something valuable.

Am aware of nothing not unless you are looking for scammers that will pretend to be good Samaritan but will only take the funds and run away.
actually we can help the advertisement on our own without asking anyone , just have them on a social media but of course not your main account so will not be exposed to scammers and hackers.
what I mean is that there are parameters we can use to help gaining audience and that is what we have to do.
don't let others collect funds for this just use yours.

Just like bitcoin is decentralized and peer-to-peer money, its promoters are also decentralized and work peer-to-peer.

We are decentralized all around the world across hundreds of countries and cultures. We tell our friends and family about it and how it solves their own problems. There's no centralized promotion hub because we are all bitcoin promoters doing what we can in our own decentralized communities and personal networks to slowly get people to adopt bitcoin.

If you want to get connected to more people working on promoting bitcoin in their own unique way, you might enjoy the bitcoin crowdfunding platform Geyser (https://Geyser.fund). You are bound to find all sorts of amazing projects that are building bitcoin all around the world. If you can't find one that you like, you can start your own campaign and start to raise funds to promote bitcoin in your own unique way. Best of luck.

Directly advertise bitcoin is also currently not a necessity.
The best way to advertise Bitcoin is by incorporating it into your daily living, if you have goods or services you sell to people, accepting Bitcoin as a means of exchange is an amazing way to advertise Bitcoin also if you are a consumer of any goods and services opting to pay with Bitcoin is a unique way of promoting Bitcoin.
But most importantly telling people about the opportunities of Bitcoin not just the investment opportunity is a good way of not only leading people to Bitcoin but also it ensures they become enthusiast because many have sold of their Bitcoin during the dip and this has to do with how Bitcoin was introduced to them.

Yes. Not that it is wrong to introduce bitcoin as an investment opportunity, and people also don't have to be enthusiasts, if people find bitcoin useful and incorporate it to their daily lives then it's a good thing to utilize it for them. Nevertheless, if people want to deem bitcoin as a commodity it is also okay, even though bitcoin is mainly conceived as a way of transaction and payment.

We don't have to force people to use bitcoin for some specific purposes. Regarding your thought about advertising bitcoin by using or accepting its payment options, I do agree it is a great thing that helps to boost bitcoin awareness and adoption.

There isn't any group or such which are currently doing it but there are some well wishers who are publishing articles, blogs and Youtube channels to explain about Bitcoin and it's more of an educational thing rather than promotional one and that's the need of the hour. It's not possible to have a group aligned for same thing because everyone way of doing things will be different so we will never be able to come on same page especially when it's self funded. Forums like bitcointalk.org is also help user to gain more knowledge about bitcoin as well as every aspect of crypto but we need to educate two set of people, one those who are aware of Bitcoin but thinks it as any other investment scheme as we need explain the uses of bitcoin and why it was created, another set of people are the ones who have no knowledge about bitcoin and this would be a difficult task hence bright minds should come together and start series of online seminar but we may need funds to pool in the users as we have to reach out to them through digital marketing mode like Youtube/social media adverts on seminar.

dollar is not advertised but businesses using the dollar are.. those businesses advertise themselves
gold is not advertised but businesses using gold are.. those businesses advertise themselves

bitcoin doesnt advertise itself, but businesses using bitcoin do advertise themselves
This is aligns perfectly with my understanding of Bitcoin. A store of value and a medium of exchange does not need much advertising. Perhaps the author might be considering the fact Bitcoin is yet to gain mainstream adoption as it is still used by a very small percentage of the world's population. With time Bitcoin will surely catch up with the others... probably Bitcoin ETF approval will pave the way to wilder penetration of Bitcoin.

In a sense, this forum actually fits your criteria, the forum's got donators that help keep the lights on for the forum and many other things although this forum isn't technically an advertisement group, it stands as a pillar for the bitcoin movement especially since this was founded by Satoshi the bitcoin creator himself.

Nah, the purpose of this forum is not to promote Bitcoin to "the masses" but to provide a space where Bitcoin-related topics can be discussed freely. So I don't think that's what OP had in mind.
As for the donations, the forum raised quite a lot of them in the early days and have reserves that will last for years. The minimum donations for the "VIP" and "donator" badges have not been updated to reflect the current price and stay at 50btc and 10btc respectively. Obviously nobody will ever pay that much. The forum also suspended advertising (link here), so I think the only current revenue are small donations from the "copper" members.

Bitcoin doesn't need those groups because Bitcoin also doesn't need any promotion like that. Bitcoin should not be thought of as a shit altcoin that needs promotion to attract investors. Bitcoin is promoted by itself, but sometimes some big whales use the name of Bitcoin to gain profit by manipulating the market.
So stop thinking of Bitcoin as a project or a centralized company that needs funds to promote. It's a fully decentralised system that maintains both privacy and economic freedom. Moreover it is already popular so I think it doesn't need any specific advertisement, but a large part of the world's population still doesn't know about the proper use of Bitcoin so to make them aware everyone who is associated with it should aware them about the uses of bitcoin from then own position.
I totally agree with you. Bitcoin owner Anonymous, has no company, so who will pay to promote Bitcoin like other altcoins. Bitcoin is the first cryptocurrency people know, so what does someone want to do by promoting Bitcoin?  I would like to ask the op how he can run promote bitcoin  that will be beneficial for bitcoin where he himself is dependent on bitcoin? I think it's a funny thing he he lol

-snip-

Like luxury goods and luxury cars, you don't need a lot of advertising, interested people will come by themselves.

Bees never tell anyone that honey is sweet, only those who know and are interested will understand the taste.
Luxurious appearance still does not necessarily mean good quality. Good quality goods with a unique appearance, even though they are expensive, are of course people who know their advantages and will buy them and make good use of them.
Bitcoin is unique. The uniqueness of Bitcoin is that it can make its owners continue to want large amounts of Bitcoin.

For people who want to use Bitcoin as money, they can. People who want to make it as an investment can also.
Other people who see this item will definitely ask questions because they are curious about the uniqueness of Bitcoin.

There is no need for that anymore, something like this could have been useful at the initial stage when Bitcoin wasn't widespread and only a limited number of people knew about it, but at that time, no one knew how successful it was going to be in the future, and by the time it started getting popular, it didn't need advertising since it was already getting around pretty easily since no advertisement or promotion can do the work that can be done by users of a certain thing, and Bitcoin has got a lot of users now and it will keep spreading.

Now with all the famous people being involved with Bitcoin and news channels and everyone on the internet talking about it, it is getting free promotion all around, and there is no need for an organization to collect funds and use those funds to promote Bitcoin to the masses as it's already getting promoted to them without any cost.

I have seen different individuals that are into bitcoin promotion, but the problem is their main goal is not to introduce bitcoin as a currency but to scam people and make them believe that bitcoin is a get quick rich thing. That is why instead of promoting bitcoin as a good alternative to fiat, people jump into conclusion that bitcoin is nothing but a Ponzi scheme. So for me, there’s no need for any group or individual person to promote bitcoin.

However, it’s a different story if you are into crypto or bitcoin business. It’s expected that you should promote bitcoin in order to attract investors to buy or sell bitcoin, or consider your crypto exchange as a legit and reliable one to make their transactions with.

Emm... do we really need promotions to make BTC known to more people? in reality, many companies, such as exchanges or lending platforms, use Bitcoin as a means to promote themselves. You're probably familiar with phrases like:

"Trade Bitcoin on platform X and get daily bonuses."
"Now we offer low-interest Bitcoin loans."

Bitcoin is already well known through these channels, which means that promoting Bitcoin through its reputation is sufficient... even today, I see people talking about Bitcoin through word of mouth, which has already helped it spread effectively. It's worth noting that major media outlets reporting on Bitcoin is a great form of promotion without spending money. Yes, news about Bitcoin can gain more traction in the market or internet due to its many surprises.

There is no need for any group for Bitcoin advertising but Bitcoin is becoming more and more popular in this digital world. If you want to teach someone in your area about Bitcoin, you can certainly teach him about crypto from his general knowledge. And if you try to teach them greedily, they will definitely be interested in investing just for the sake of getting rich quick, but Bitcoin is not for getting rich quick. A person must invest for a long period of time and face a lot of volatility in the market to become financially stable with Bitcoin. All things considered later a person needs to take good advice about Bitcoin but he will know about the science and slowly he will attract more people to Bitcoin. Currently, Bitcoin is advertised on all social media platforms, and many casinos and shopping malls accept Bitcoin payments. So Bitcoin is undoubtedly very popular now and I think there is no need to create a group for Bitcoin advertising.

dollar is not advertised but businesses using the dollar are.. those businesses advertise themselves
gold is not advertised but businesses using gold are.. those businesses advertise themselves

bitcoin doesnt advertise itself, but businesses using bitcoin do advertise themselves

Indeed, your arguments sufficiently demonstrate how bitcoin will advance on its own without human intervention. Just take a look at how many people are aware of bitcoin today—thousands of people, to be exact—and how, I believe, they are not actively promoting it. Instead, people will simply search for bitcoin, and it will continue to grow on its own without any further assistance. Anything that deals with profit when you invest in it doesn't need to be advertised; it has to advertise itself because people have to come to it. Bitcoin is an investment where you can invest any amount of money you have to buy your coin and when the price of the coin you gain a better profit.

According to what I understand, there is no need to create a group to promote bitcoin because, even at first, not many people are aware of it. However, since those who do understand it have been able to profit from it after investing, holding onto it for a while, and then selling it, many more people have become interested in it. Even less educated people have begun to approach those who are knowledgeable about it for advice on how to invest because they stand to gain financially from doing so.

I don't think that there's a need to have groups or fund a group to promote and spread anything about bitcoin, simply because bitcoin is largely known in the world, especially on the internet. And as bitcoin sticks to the word "blockchain," meaning blockchain is an advanced technology and well known, we know that if we talk about blockchain, people will know it immediately.

And even if there are groups that promote bitcoin, many people will still not pay attention to it, especially those who are not into internet things. As we know, bitcoin is a complex technology, and even if it's an opportunity to make a profit, some people can't understand the concept of it. Yes, promoting bitcoin will be a good idea, but we can't force the crowd to know and be involved in this industry. Bitcoin is well known around the world, so there's no need to do more promotions.
