One warning for changing tho Etherium.

Etherium is very experimental and SOIL I like very much but they have big problems with ajusting the blocktime.
People in GAIA are not mining people and the reward of 0.25 GAIA is not very intresting for mining @ current exchange rates.
Does the GAIA team have suficent mining power to establish the network?

OK, to recap...  

RagingBull is proposing a coin swap for GAIA to an Ethereum-blockchain-based POW coin.

The new coin will have a block every 15 seconds at a rate of 0.25 coin per block.

The new coin will have a different name and BitcoinTalk thread.

The new coin's mining algorithm is DAGger. (Ethereum's wiki on mining with DAGger: https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Mining)

Console, Windows and Mac wallets are on the roadmap for immediate release.

The swap will be a 1 to 1 exchange.

Personally, I am voting "Yes" (for the swap) as are two friends of mine (from irc channel #gaiacoin) who do not use BitcoinTalk (pcctw and webbyz.)

What I'm most excited about is the opportunity this new blockchain brings to our development platform. There are many Ethereum-based companies emerging as major players in this frontier. Of course, I will continue to work as our coin's media contact; hopefully, extending this role beyond social media into developer and Bitcoin conferences.

So, there is the vote in a nutshell:

NO = GAIA remains a POS coin with a built-in AppStore (Roadmap: app submission process still to be completed)

YES = GAIA becomes a new coin based on the Ethereum blockchain, a POW coin that is mineable.

Etherium is great but PoS was in invovation to prevent mining and that is why I like PoS-currencies.
If you create EthGaia you can combine the advantages of both currencies.
That is why I work with SOIL (also Etherium fork)
You can consider also using SOIL or just Etherium of jour own EthGaia.
When you create EthGaia besides GAIA then sharholders of GAIA can exchange for EthGaia and you can send these GAIA to a BURN address and/or create GAIA-tokens in the EthGAIA ecosystem.
This where my thoughts and if you work it out like this it is more innovative then just a coinswap 1:1 to a mining currency.
On the other hand 1:1 is just easy but maybe you lose some PoS fans.
If you wait 6 month then there comes a PoS version of Etherium.

can you detail changes in coin spec with algo change ?

This sounds very exciting, RagingBull. I'd like to see the specs on the proposed coin and know whether this will be a 1:1 swap.
