Actually I have this thoughts lately, whether I will stop gambling for good and the rest of the money that I have, invest it, (of course I have Bitcoin, but I was thinking of diversifying), so I guess even if this is a old thread, it could still be very much applicable to day.

In any case, though, for me I would say that we should really go into investment as some point in our lives.

We are not getting any younger, maybe before we don't have family, but time has change, priorities is changing, so for me, I might gamble a bit in sports betting. But I will be looking not just for my future, but for my family as well to invest my hard earn money and not to gamble it away.

You meant Deflationary. Because Bitcoin is by designed to increase in value through time as it's supply decreases and the demand continues to grow.

Anyways, To me Someone who is heavily invested in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is an investor, not a gambler. Though it could also depend on the type of currency we would be talking about, in my opinion someone putting their hard earned money in shitcoins and coins related to dogs and food is pretty much a gambler in the making.

The purpose of the two is completely different. Although by doing gambling you could earn, but gambling cannot be a standard means of earning only. If you want to lead your life by earning money from gambling, you must always be anxious. I always liked healthy gambling. However, investment as a means of earning is less risky and safer than comparable gambling. If you invest somewhere, you can control its risk with stop-loss. That is, your fixed amount of risk will be included in your calculation. And in case of gambling you can lose your entire property in a moment without any calculation, that is, the risk is high in this case.

On the other hand in gambling, you have to be completely dependent on luck. Some games may require skill but 80% depends on luck whether you win or lose.

I would say that investing is better and if you want to invest in different forms and not only in Bitcoin you can always diversify your portfolio by buying alts who can also be staked in different places, like Zilliqa for example or any other coin which offer you a great staking return.

As for betting it is believed to be a shortcut to poverty but before anyone goes there a lot of victims are made and are put directly to poverty, so anyone not minding the consequences of betting can try and increase his money through gambling. Gambling as I said has huge risks but for such people who want to make money fast and are willing to accept going broke also fast it is a nice try to make a fortune fast, only very few individuals make it through and so far I personally don't know any of them, this says a lot about why investing is always better.

Actually this isnt really something that you could be able to question yourself on which these things are two different types on which the other one is something that you could make it as your source of income
and the other one is something that pertains about having leisure or entertainment on which trying out to differentiate and make use of your common sense then you could really be able to tell their differences on which it isnt really that hard to determine on how you would gonna deal up with these things. When it comes to the question about which one you would really be that choosing then of course you will really be choosing on something that brings income. Come to think that if you dont have that money then you cant be able to gamble in the first place.

One is a necessity in life which you can even debate about it, investment has it own risk but when their is a proper knowledge about an investment it is always productive at the end. Investment is what one can always look up to when it is productive.

Gambling is a game which it is being played for fun, so I'd say we need it but I don't think it is something that one needs to depend on because it is unpredictable. Gamble us not certain so I don't see why one would want to choose it, we just need gamble to get entertained because it is not what you can depend on as investment or source of income.

Although gambling has a negative meaning in it, there are still many people who carry out this activity because of the pleasure factor to seek entertainment, while investing for me people tend to still do this activity a little because of the lack of good understanding of how to invest properly and correctly so that people are afraid of losses in the future. However, I personally do both, yes, gambling and don't forget to invest too. Grin

First of all, investment and gambling shouldn't be on the same option because they can't give you the same results, gambling is a 50/50 thing, you can either win or lose, an investment is something that pays you continually. There's nothing more important than having something that generates income for you either on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Gambling isn't something that should be relied on as a source of income so scratch it off from your list of options. Focus more on learning how to trade the financial market or just buy stocks.

I think he means the site he invests in can possibly turn into a scam and go offline or run with the bitcoins, which is possible, but is usually unlikely as a gambling site that is making profit has more to gain in the long term by staying than by running with the bitcoins.

If you invest into a house bankroll you are on the house's side, so you have positive EV.

And that right there should be the end of this thread. People have to realize that gambling and investing aren't gaurenteed ways of making money, and need to put their funds toward risky situations like these accordingly.

It's always nice to pipe dream and feel lucky on dice, which I do so sparingly, but if I had a choice, and for the sake of this thread, I will always put more of my funds in investing... By investing into precious metals and other assets.
