lost 20k in 2 days , used up all my profits from my portfolio , and i just wanted to keep on going . how you guys stop yourself from betting/gambling on casino ?

looking for ways to bet on sportsbook but not on casino , but stake does not provide the option for that .  Undecided
When it comes to gambling addiction then its a personal type of problem which means that you are the only ones who could solve it out.If you do find that you are already spending lots or tons of money in gambling activity then thats the time you should stop immediately because if you do tend to continue then situations do came even more worst. It doesnt matter if its involving casino or sports betting because on general sense of addiction then you would
still spending tons of money if you dont have the good control of your finances.

The general sense is indeed that you will keep losing tons of money with this gambling addiction problem, it's better to seek professional help aside from trying to cope up with yourself will, yeah it's you who can solve this problem but it will be faster and easier if there's a professional guides from someone who specialized this kind of cases.

Plus the love and help of your family, the support will surely increase the chance of you keeping yourself busy away from this addiction.

Both sports and casino gambling have same damaged inside your minds. Addictions are really tough to battle with. You need a strong will to solve this problem.

I don't think diverting your attention to another gambling activity will do you anything good. If I were you, I would seek other hobbies and other activities that will keep me preoccupied for the time being. You've already lost a considerable sum that I don't think it's worth it to push for more losses as you'll just end up being more depressed than you already are currently. You can also seek for help and intervention if you really want to get rid of that addiction. It's good that you're already noticing that something's wrong with you, as it is the most important step towards rehabilitation.

it would take sincere determination if he wants to address his gambling addiction. better address it while he can still identify his problem and not denying it. because as he goes deep into gambling, he would find out that it is very hard to get out. better look for alternative activities rather than looking for sportsbooks that will address his requirements.
he will receive a lot of suggestions, but at the end of the day, he will be the only one that can address the situation.

Gambling addiction is not one person issue it's a global issue. Best approach is to cure it before it completely rips all of your money.
"It is estimated that around two million people in the US are addicted to gambling, and that for as many as 20 million the habit seriously interferes with work and social life. (Source)"

Wow, I didn't know the scale of this problem is so large. It is really hard to imagine and if thats true, that is terrifying.

20k is a big amount. You need to stop gambling instead of looking for alternatives.

He didn't mention which currency he used. If it's 20k USD then it's a huge loss.

My guess is that it is in dollars, but we can only talk about a huge loss when we know the real income of that person. For someone who earns a lot, this amount may not be as significant as for someone who earns very little.

Congratulations! You have already on the right path to end your gambling addiction. Because you are understanding that you are becoming an addicted gambler. That's the most important step.

Take medical help now! Every country has helpline numbers to help an addicted gambler to recover. Connect there and speak up. You should get help from there and possibly they will do some counseling as well.

Mate, addiction is sometime not only because the gambler often wins the bet but can also occur because the gambler does not want to stop and continues to want to recover his losses. This desire become the most difficult thing to get rid of and gamblers often look for other alternative to recover losses by continuing to bet on different things. I just hope the OP starts to realize that gambling isn't the best way to make big profit, but it's much better if he has the perception that gambling is where he entertain himself and it doesn't cost too much money.

I think that one of the solutions (if you play for Fiats) is to put fixed limits on the card. If, you play for crypto, I would transfer funds to some independent addresses and give private keys to someone from my relatives. Unfortunately, if you can't control it yourself, you will need to trust someone.

What a risk giving out all your profits from your portfolios and you still need suggestions on how to go about betting on sportsbooks hope you aren't going too extreme. Just have some break before going back to gambling. There are lots of sports book but you should consider your recovering from your losses so you don't go about trying to recover them. There is always another day to gamble but keeping your stake realistic should be what you should consider before placing a bet

If possible too, Please lock this thread to avoid spam post since you already made a decision for your own sake. Just unlock it if you have something to share in future.

Based on your betting behaviour, You have a lot capital on your trading that's why you can afford to lose 20K within 2 days, I know that you can easily recover it on trading since you have a huge capital. GL!

~snip~

Losing at gambling is as natural as winning. But for some reason you go to the casino just to win. Absolutely all bettors have experienced this feeling of devastation and disappointment when they lose a large sum of money. No need to make a tragedy of it. If you are not able to draw conclusions about the risks of gambling without losing a significant amount of money then this system will make you pay a tidy sum of money. As in principle it happened. Think about it at your leisure.

It seems that you are playing with enthusiasm and emotion, when you have lost several times you hope to win and be able to return the defeat that has occurred and it turns out that you cannot control yourself.

I've also experienced it but with a small capital, and but it will teach us how important it is to control ourselves when betting and stop when we often accept defeat because if we continue to play the losses will get bigger, you have to stop gambling for a moment to calm your mind and regret because Your loss is very large, even though it is your capital from the profit, there will still be a sense of regret.
If it doesn't happen often, learn from all incidents and you can handle it yourself and if it happens frequently you should seek professional help or anything else to cure you of addiction.

That is really bad, but at least you have made the realization there is something wrong, in my opinion you need professional help, it is very common for people to think they can manage the problems they have but when you have lost so much money in such a short amount of time then it is time look for help as another relapse like that could be enough to wipe out your accounts and maybe getting you in debt, also if your family does not know what is happening be open to them about this as you are going to need their support to overcome this problem.

I've shared my experience in this thread Be a Responsible Gambler. Maybe going through that would get you on the right track. However what you lost can't be easily taken back, sorry for the loss. Also don't go behind chasing the losses. Try to make something out of trading. With the ongoing market variation you could earn atleast $100 regularly out of $20k. Anymore don't make wrong calculations, know your limit and spend.

It's really sad to hear how you gamble to spend everything in your portfolio with such uncontrollable lust. What makes you so ambitious in gambling that you don't even think about it. Please it will be very bad if you feel that gambling can generate huge profits.

There is no solution or advice that you can really follow if you don't have the motivation to stop the bad habit yourself.
Be mature in dealing with gambling, because by controlling your mind, I believe you will not get this far in gambling.

in 100 gambling addicts only 1 is really lucky with complete concentration and control.

Its a famous saying that in gambling a winner knows when to stop. I think same holds true for losers, you must know your limit when you must stop betting.

YOSHIE is right, OP you are not the first person who lost such huge money (provided 20k is USD not Korean Won), there are bigger cases of losing money. Done is done now, just relax and take some break from gambling. You need to device a strategy that how much you will spend on this entertainment.

Just chat with the support , Will start my exclusion after UFC 267. ( as I already placed my bets on it , and after the event will just withdraw from Stake and start my 1 month exclusion ) and back to my trading .

Hope it will be your best decision, taking a self exclusion is a good start for you to reduce your gambling activity.
Although I would say it is not that effective if your "will" to gamble in your mind is still big.
The one and the best way for you to stop gambling is by controlling your own mind and will.

This is a red light indicating addiction. I would suggest you pause gambling for a while examine your mind and see if you have the total control over your gambling ventures. If after your findings you discover you can't then you definitely need a counselor.

Not bad, at least it gone 2 days on your end compare to this guy who lost 20k euros in one night but it's still that alarming. Yeah, hearing someone from acquaintances online wasn't a bad idea but you need more than that I guess to be able to cope with this problem, e.g. family members, friends, or your therapist. Only words from them can change it and your dedication to change the situation you're in.

Ways to bet on sportsbook? I thought you're asking ways to stop this addiction, yet you're still asking for ways? I don't think you'd ever get on with this addiction if you yourself has no self-respect on what you'd do the next. Be firm on what you stand for, if you want to quit or mitigate the situation at least have the composure to do that.
