I think that the way people approach gambling, deal with wins and losses and manage their impulses can be a window into their personality, yes, but it is also important to note that awareness and self-control are skills that can be learned and improved, allowing these same people to manage their gambling habits, regardless of their personality.
Discipline is the umbrella under which all of this awareness, and selfcontrol falls under but the issue has always.been with people been able to actually abide by all of this as at the time t hey should, some persons have got self control but do have wrong time of application and thst alone becomes a serious issue for them in that they later get to fain in that because at the time they needed o apply it they were feeling hey could still get lucky but they don't only to go and apply in a later time.
I can suppose that someone just don`t interest in the gambling, or has some other/additional hobbies, or don`t have enough time for gambling. All these people just can`t become gambing addicts in such situation. They don`t need any dsicipline for it - they just on the another side from the gambling. Even if they are playing - they just don`t feel enough emotions to become an addict. I think that problem with gambing addiction is not the problem with gambling and self control. It looks like that people try to solve some their problems using gambling. And it not only money problems - someone need to "kill time" - spend some free time, someone need to get bright emotions, etc.
The main part of gamblers has no problems with gambing - it means that the problem is not on gambling but in gamblers. small part of gamblers.
When you spend too much time on something you will become addicted, even if we are talking about a woman here, also if a man believes that making money with gambling is the way they will become addicted, they have a goal remember? And that's what will keep them going, blindly and helpless.
The less time you spent with anything the better you are around it, there will be no room for addiction, what I found out about dear gamblers is that they don't have to enjoy the time they spent gambling, all they want is money, they want to make life changing money from gambling, this will keep them going no matter what, until they lost everything.
