it is not a sickness for sure, in my opinion people should be able to do whatever they want with their money they earn so they can freely gamble if they want

Wrong, the very concept of this thread is wrong. IF you consider "gambling" a sickness, then you can consider a verb like "drinking" a sickness just because alcoholism exist. As you see, this is nonsense. Some people can gamble without getting addicted.
Sickness and Addiction can't go together in the same sentence. Think of it this way sickness is for medicine as addiction is to rehab. Like drug addicts you can't cure drug addicts woth another drug too. Sickness id another category for it.
Addicted in gambling do not require rehabilitation as a drug addict, they just need a support from her family and also foster their confidence in getting the money is better. addicted in gambling can be cured if the addict does have a desire to get out of gambling

The greed and the eagerness of winning a lot of money in less time makes them addicted of gambling and later on when they realize that it is not the right choice for what they were looking they consider it a sickness because of the loses they got into it.

Agree with this. Everything we do in excess is bad for us. If we gamble with moderation, then it is totally fine and not considered as a sickness; However, if you gamble with all of your might and fortune and even bet your house and lot, then you are in serious trouble my friend.
If you spent $0.10 and getting chance to win $100'000. I think the risk is justified.
But once you get that 100'000 dollars and bet it for again and again, I think you might lose it all in just blink of am eye since you're already addicted to it

IMO gambling is like drugs in some cases. I mean there are many people who know it's bad for them to gamble but they are doing it again and agian anyway. I agree that they can manage to stop by themselves but same with drugs, only it's very difficult to do in both cases.

Gambling itself is not a sickness but getting addicted into it is considered as a sickness since its hard to control and stay away from it specially you are almost playing everyday and trying to cope up all of your losses. This condition needs a help from a psychiatrist if you are severely get addicted into it.

Gambling addiction is a sickness but gambling itself is not, because not everyone gamble because they are addicted to it but some people or a lot of people gamble just for fun, just for spending some money they have maybe extra, and they never call it a sickness, but the ones who gamble for making a living with it call it a sickness because it wrecks them.

Addiction is when a person does not have control over what they are using or doing. Well, yeah. For me its a sickness because you cant control yourself. Maybe seeking for medical support is needed to get rid of this. Maybe have some friends to mingle and keep yourself busy to avoid gambling. Think about your family and make them as your inpiration.
