Gambling is not sickness but it is addictive and large number of people who gamble are easy victim to get addicted to it. It is state of mind which works in many weak character persons like sickness. Gambling has its own effects when someone practice it for loner period of time. It is up to person how deeper he takes gambling in his life. Gambling by itself is nothing.
The problem is, some people get their lives ruined by gambling. They fall into debts, lose all their possessions, sometimes they take loans from criminals who later injure or kill them. Like many addicts, pathological gamblers don't realize their problem unti it's too late, so it's their friends and families who must watch over them and drag them out of unhealthy gambling.
Every gambler should remember to play only for fun with small amounts and never wager any money they are not ready to lose. And even thinking about taking a loan for gambling is unacceptable.
