I don't think the palying for fun or for profit with gambling game is a sickness. This is normal I think but something extreme isnt normal and is bad for everyone around it. So I can say that there should be qualification where you can consider gambling as sickness but still the term sickness isnt right for it. Disease should be the right term.

Gambling is business its not a sickness or desease.. they are just saying that this is desease because if they are addicted its very hard to threat those sickness..

I agree to this topic. Gambling should be considered as a sickness because many people never stop with it anymore and I think its very wrong to gamble also since they keep losing money . If they can't control their selves then it's a sickness.

You can correlate a drug addict to a gambling addict because both of these habits are developed (or honed, whichever makes more sense) due to the release of neurotransmitters in the brain called dopamine whenever one feels pleasure or feels like he's rewarded. But generally speaking, a typical gambler shouldn't be called out as an 'addict' if he only plays casually, whereas if a person thinks of gambling most of the time and has sold something important just to have the money to stake, that's an addict. In my opinion, it is wrong to call all gamblers as addicts.

There are some genetic test you can do to see if you have big chances o becoming a gambling addict. We have technology now to look up for genetic traits that will tell you if you can or not gamble in a reasonable way and everyone should be taking those tests before risking it with gambling.

For some people gambling is addictive and they put all there money in it. When they runes there own life with gambling I think you can talk about an big problem.

Certain kinds of people with a certain personality should probably stay away from ga!bling otherwise they sink all their money into it and have none left to play for fun or even to buy food of things get really bad.

I'm sorry to disagree. Not all people that gamble are sick. Just like in anything we do in life, too much is bad. So if you're not that hook with gambling and just do it for entertainment and fun with the amount you are ok to lose with, then I don't think that you are a sick man/woman.

Gambling itself is actually not a bad thing. It is just another form of entertainment. However, people tends to abuse it and went over their own limits. That is why they give gambling a bad name. Dont play for profit and just play for fun, gambling would be much more relax and stress-free.

That's right, gambling is a bit similar to diet and anything that we abuse in real life...gambling is a bit tempting, but it is us that never control our urge to gamble that sometimes don't end up so well.. But still, it doesn't mean that we are already sick when we gamble and fail, I think it would take more than that before we could consider ourselves sick...

In my view, everyone have their own way to play the gambling. In gambling main point is that win the money and everyone play it because they want to win it, but the fear of loss, it is good thing because in this way we never became addictive person, but when we have no fear of loss the money in gambling than gambling become dangerous for us. So maintain yourself in every fields like games or business.

Those who does not fear of losing are completed addicted gamblers and they let gambling enslave them, that is the worst thing for our brothers who failed to play gambling at the right way, it is suppose to be fun and not to ruin anyone's life.

In sports betting you need a good strategy and that is proven that anyone can be rich because of that kind of gambling games. As a gambler if we want to be successful and be rich we should not be fully reliant with our luck.

yeah and I trust sports betting the most and enjoy to it too but i don't call it as a sickness but only as a entertainment as i am not that addictive to it and i can have control over myself while doing bets !

Good for us who has control over gambling because we will never call gambling as a sickness. Honestly, I just lose my bets yesterday in sports betting of basketball and I have prove that I can easily move on since the amount that I put is the amount intended for gambling.

for me no, it's not a sickness. being addicted to gambling though would be close but being addicted to pretty much anything is the same. gambling is fun, it's exciting and if you're lucky, can get you a lot of money. there's nothing wrong with that. the problem though, as with anything, is when you get too much of something. being addicted to gamblisg affects not just you but people around you as well.there are a lot of people i know that borrow money or even sell properties just to support their gamblisg addiction.
