Well, alcoholism is considered a sickness, so I could agree with this. But just as with drinking alcohol, if you don't let it consume your life(some of us have that type of control, surprising, which is probably why it's legal), then it's okay.
Just because I gamble, doesn't mean I'm sick, but I'm not betting my life away either.

People can get addicted to marijuana, drugs, cigarettes, or even beer but do they consider those things sickness? No. I think a person can only be sick if he gets into something too much. gambling is the same, it is just a game that you can use to have fun while taking risks. the fact that some people get addicted and lose a lot of money while having an illusion of getting rich doesn't change any facts.

In gambling what you should do is Make up your mind till a certain profit and move out if you have achieved the goal.
If you keep on gambling without any stopping strategy then sure for 100% that you will loose because you don't know where to stop and your mind will tell you to get more profit. !!

Its is bad to do of course. And people are getting easily addicted to it and that is the problem. They must realize that it is all wasted money.

It can't be considered a sickness because it is a game.
Addiction to it can kinda be consider as a sickness, but I think gambling addiction is not that serious type of addiction.
Because even a gambler play a large amount of money and still losing where it results in negative effect to them, they do still in sane of their thinking and they do know that they are losing a money.
What do they need is just only a limitation to prevent that negative effects caused by gambling.

We are just saying that gambling is considered sickness because most of the time that would be base on our bad experience in gambling and we are just blaming gambling in that matter instead of our self. Responsible gambling does not blame the gambling itself.

But it depends on how you are gambling..There are some people, usually poor people, that invest all their money to hope in a win just because it is a change to change their life. But in this way they will lose more and more, and not just money! Sometimes this is a cause for the lose of the family too!

Addiction is the sickness, not the things that we addicted to. Gambling, drugs, cigarettes or even sex exists for our pleasure so they cant be considered as sickness.

I don't think it should be considered as sickness, it's a very addicted game.And it's become part of life to me.I entertained by gambling and not think that,it is a sickness.rather it's make myself happy and joyfull.
