First off, kudos to you, Mr. Yurio for taking on a project like this on your own.
Its nice and very motivational to see a person with your mindset and programing capabilities to start a project like this ( Looking at you Mr. Wolf
).
Since this has come a long way, I decided to start testing the 1.1.1. Alpha version.
I have done a few hours of tests, nothing special, it has not been running for days, so don't take my tests for granted.
All of the test have been done on a 6x Sapphire Nitro+ RX570 4GB ( Hynix ) machine, running Windows 10 Pro x64 build 1607 ( Default Microsoft Image - no updates ).
Testing has been done on XMR mining only, I've used same setting as I use in my SGminerGM, xmr-stack-amd and Claymore miners >>> RI:896 | W:8 | T:2
The settings are with power consumption in mind, the cards are running 1200 core / 2000 memory @900 - 920mV
Lets start with the good things:
- Good, competitive speed
- Decent amount of options to setup the cards ( didn't try overclocking )
- Friendly user interface
- Easy installation and config to use for beginners
Now for the bad part:
- Random crashes ( The app has stopped working windows error )
- Sometimes when changing the pool from devfee to my pool, or the other way around, the threads become unresponsive, it tries to restart but nothing happens - sometimes the machine crashes.
- Speed is not quite there yet, getting about 10- 15 h/s more on SGMiner GM ( about 970 - 975 h/s with same settings )
- Unresponsive GUI - takes a while for the page to refresh - probably infecting stability
- A bit higher power consumption than SGMiner GM, about 15-20w for the whole rig, not much of an issue, can be overlooked if the stability would improve
- Very high startup times - takes 40 sec for the devfee mining to start and another 2 min. for my mining to start - that's 2:40 to start mining from the start of miner - sorry, this is unacceptable - other miners start way faster and change between pools faster, you need to work on this
Things I would like to see in future releases:
- Stability! No.1 Concern
- faster start and pool / devfee change
- More configuration options ( ability to restart rig, not to restart threads if unstable, command prompt interface only etc. )
- Responsive GUI
All in all I would say you are making great progress, and this is becoming a really good miner.
Once the stability issues are solved and some features are added I will be happy to use it and show my support to You.
I will keep testing this on one rig any report further findings if I find any.
Thanks a lot and keep up the good work!
