I think you overestimate these guys' brain power. You can see how bright they are when you realize that with their marketing savvy they could have created something legitimate and profitable over time. instead they went the instascam route.
PS: For you guys that were swatted; what did the police say? I mean, how does a conversation go after you get swatted, "Well officer, you see there is this thing called Bitcoin, and this guy called Homer-o".
