Just received 2 new 2pacs, put in 60watt anker hub, cooling fan on, but after a short while the 2pacs go "OFF". What is this?

That really depends on how hot you're running them.

I´m planning on rebuilding my "mining environment". I bought a rig for 3.5" hdds with two 80 mm fans and I´m planning on mounting the sticks into it.
Do I have to expect any heat probles from the backside of the stick? I want to lay them horizontally on a mounting plate and insulate them with any kind of non conducting material. The heatsink would be pointing up then so that the airflow goes horizontally through the cooling rips. But that means, that no air would reach the backside, or then downside, of the stick. Is that a problem?

Sounds like a question for VH.

@sidehack been getting a bunch of requests to have my Moonlanders work along side your compaqs, and trying to figure out which one of our drivers is causing the issue. Im guessing one of the drivers is blasting the other com port with data that is putting one of the ASICs in an unrecoverable state.

Bitcoin FTW!
There's a link on the first post that's called "Voltage Adjustment Photo", near the bottom.

Philipma1957's post under the photo should contain sufficient info for you to use the pot correctly.

I have seen a picture recently on here, was not too far back if I recall.

HODL. Patience.
Oh hey, every other time in this thread when someone mentions a clock position for the pot, it's referenced to USB down.

Can we have this added to page1, post1? It's where _I_ go when I look for tech info. Smiley

more precisely, hold the device with the usb port up, the screw has a flat edge, turn it clockwise until the flat edge is at 1 0r 2 o clock

Turn the screw near the USB clockwise. turn it 45 degrees until it works.

Were you running it hot, without cooling? And then unplugged it, and then the next time you plugged it back in it's detected by Windows (meaning the USB chip is active) but not cgminer (meaning the chips aren't communicating)?

Then yeah, that's what I'm gonna guess.

If you were running it on stock settings and reasonable temperature and it's randomly not detected, consider increasing the voltage a bit and trying again. Could be a balance issue.

it could very well be heat damage, but its worked in other usb ports on both my desktop and laptop

i'm using windows 10. Yeah, it's being detected by the computer there. It was working before, but after unplugging it isn't being detected by cgminer

I'm still guessing it's that thing I said about heat damage.

Yeah, i did the drop down, selected the 2pac stick, and installed the driver. It's just being really weird

What windows are you using? may be it's windows causing a problem?

When you look at the right lower corner do you find something like this:

That's the output of cgminer. I've got the compiled folder extracted and used zadig for the drivers.

you sure you ran zadig and did the drop down to 2 pac?

doesn't look like the computer even sees it, I think you did something wrong.
